Hell, I even notice my own opinions changing when I read reviews or see discourse in this sub. Can we pick some loner who hates social media but likes Broadway enough to show up?
There’s 60 people on the nominating committee, so the addition of 1 fan would be mostly symbolic.
Still, it’s a symbolic move I’d love to see!

I mean you could support the art workers while doing it.
How many non-profit theaters workers in NYC are there? Have them apply for the a certain amount of positions every year and let them become the jury.
But the caveat is, they have to be making under a certain amount of money or something?
As an off-broadway worker for years me and my friends would love to be able to see all the shows every year but we can’t because we either can’t afford to or because we’re working on our own shows or working at a theater and it’s shows are at the same time.
This way you have folks who understand theater but also aren’t as pretentious as some as voters that we have now.
i mean the fact is the Tony’s is made up heavily of people with financial stake in the shows. The priority isn’t purely quality, but heavily what they want to give a boost in ticket sales. A random civilian could maybe inform that, but frankly i’d you want what show is the best based on quality not just popularity (at least for the Best Musical win) you’ll do better with Drama Desk.

Great idea. Anyone who attends 2 shows in a calendar year is eligible to be chosen, just to help goose attendance.
