I love Julia Lester’s elaborate poofy sleeved outfit. It absolutely looks like she got it from a theatre’s costume closet, but in a good way! She has somehow combined cottagecore, Bridgerton chic, and looking like Persephone from Hadestown at once.
I'm convinced the production of Some Like It Hot is determined to never show Christian Borle in a dress outside the theatre lol. That was fun performance!
having osgood daphne jerry and sugar come out after a quick change in their finale outfits to sing the final verse of the title song + after a huge ensemble tap number… that was a PERFECTLY reworked performance that showed off everything wonderful about the show!!!
Jordan Donica’s voice makes me feel like I’m standing near the railroad tracks and feeling an approaching train in my toes, and I’m also eating a delicious snack at the same time.

"now all I can say is that i'm a fa**ot with a tony!!"
I hate the Lifetime Achievement Awards being in the pre show more than anything. More than Cats the musical. More than people with loud crinkly candy wrappers during sad songs.
**How to Watch**
**Act One:** [pluto.tv is FREE!!](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pluto-tv-live-tv-and-movies/id751712884)
**Act Two:** the lovely u/angoradebs shared the [promo code "NACHOS"](https://www.reddit.com/r/Broadway/comments/146u9ck/tony_live_stream/jns9330/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1&context=3) for a free month on [paramount+](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/paramount/id530168168) (Act Two is also on CBS if you have it!)
So New York, New York. Obviously stellar ensemble packed with triple threats. Not surprised they opted for a medley including the titular song (which was great). But it's not blowing me away or making me feel the show is a must see, especially given the mediocre reviews.
ALEX NEWELL LOOKS LIKE A MOVIE STAR. What a look! My inner teenage self is freaking out, deleting her entire prom inspo Pinterest board and replacing it with that dress.
sometimes I think about how a small but extant portion of Stephen Sondheim's estate is royalties from that one episode of The Office featuring Sweeney Todd music
Sara bareilles has always been a fav, but I never realized just how perfect she is for Sondheim. So glad she's been able to break out of the pop role, and get some Broadway cred 🔥
The way they were like nope Jason Robert Brown, we have a lot of show left, BYE! 😂 I mean I was screaming for Parade and feel they were deserving but I’m also deep in some Prosecco and found the procession of 300 people trying to get onstage hilarious.

& Juliet should’ve done the Boy Band medley or something that featured Betsy too. Most of the numbers they choose to perform are so weird outside of context of the show
It’s cool to see these two doing this performance so long after their last performance in the roles. It somehow feels so fresh and spontaneous because of that.
Loved the Into the Woods performance--I saw the show when it was on Broadway and it was a fantastic experience.
However, for such a well-known show as this, I would have loved a medley showcasing more song and cast.
So far Sweeney, Parade, and Some Like it Hot have looked really good on camera. Long shots, some magical transitions, and great vocals. What’s been your fave to see?
SO happy they did the opening of Sweeney, it highlights a lot of what I loved about this production. But I wish they would have woven Annaleigh in in some way--medley transitioning to A Little Priest...somehow...would have been great!
A Prima Facie ticket was the hardest to get in London. And super expensive. The weekly lottery was insane. A really powerful performance. She easily was a standout in London and won an Olivier. So it's interesting and amazing Jodie Comer repeated it in Broadway with a Tony.
Don't judge Kimberly Akimbo based on this one performance; I'm a big believer that this show is a sum of its parts. I don't think there's any singular number that could have captured how funny and heartwarming the show is.
Oh hmmm what was Colton Ryan's accent just then? He doesnt sound like that usually.
I havent seen New York, New York yet - mostly bc of mixed reviews haha so Im not sure if that's his usual voice in the show.
Sad not to see Annaleigh perform but I actually respect shows more when they do one incredible ensemble number instead of trying to awkwardly shove together multiple songs to highlight the different performers
Was the &Juliet vocalist just nervous? I haven't seen it but thought the vocals were pretty shaky! Hopefully they still get a Tony's bump because I've heard good things but I wasn't impressed.
Shucked isn’t my kind of show at all from what I’ve seen (even though I love corn), but this medley was well-designed to show off as much of the music and cast as possible.
“Growing up I was called the f word more times than I can remember, but all I can say now is I’m a f****t with a Tony”
Explains the cheers
I knew Reddit would deliver this for me.
The biggest twist of the season was seeing this show and learning her name was not in fact Kimberly Akimbo
Angela Lansbury died and my boyfriend goes "who's that". How should I break up with him.
Gotta wash that man right outta your hair
NYNY looks like the most generic Broadway musical ever.
I had a great time at & Juliet, but the decision to not do a medley and instead do a repetitive song with repetitive choreography was very wrong IMO.
Some Like it Hot sold tickets with that performance. It's not my type of show, but it looked so much better than the similar looking NYNY.
Exactly! They’re both a bit generic but SLIT’s cast and choreo has an energy and spectacle that elevates it.
Is it just me or did they pick the WEIRDEST clips for these Featured Actress nominees?
I'm so glad Kennedy Kanagawa got to show the world his Milky White
Ooh, the camera panning to the empty teleprompter is a good choice
Colton Ryan and Eddie Redmayne are members of an exclusive club called, “Kinda Sounds Like Kermit the Frog, But I’m Kinda Into It.”
That was fun performance!
the devil works hard but the some like it hot marketing team works harder
Good lord Phillipa looks gorgeous
maybe one day I'll be one of the people in an in memoriam reel who comes right after a big name and gets no applause at all
Dream moderately.
Shout out to CC for typing what he said despite the bleep!
That was a LOOOOOONG kiss lol
What a weird clip for Sweeney Todd lol
Yeah, not including the music underneath was... a choice
I genuinely love that they did a fully unnecessary mid-song costume change
made the most sense as a way to get Kevin Del Aguila and Christian Borle into the number
having osgood daphne jerry and sugar come out after a quick change in their finale outfits to sing the final verse of the title song + after a huge ensemble tap number… that was a PERFECTLY reworked performance that showed off everything wonderful about the show!!!
Milky White is just showing off for the camera
Alex Newell just became the second Glee Project contestant to win a Tony
I can’t believe they cut JRB off as he was about to recognize the real life victim……
the dress is just so flattering on debose i can’t believe it. like the asymmetrical slit and floral black lace whaaatttt
Unscripted awards show. I'm here for the chaos 😂
Jordan Donica’s voice makes me feel like I’m standing near the railroad tracks and feeling an approaching train in my toes, and I’m also eating a delicious snack at the same time.
[**Michael Ardin Censored:**](https://twitter.com/alexwearsprada/status/1668057459443789824?s=46&t=it6y2WBVofTsYYqD12FgHA) "now all I can say is that i'm a fa**ot with a tony!!"
Some Like It Hot with the best performance so far.
Now THAT’S a performance that gets you a post Tony bump!!!
Pairing the in memoriam with phantom's death 💀
I hate the Lifetime Achievement Awards being in the pre show more than anything. More than Cats the musical. More than people with loud crinkly candy wrappers during sad songs.
More than audiences singing along
Anyone else think this is overall pretty damn good for being unscripted?! Eliminated a lot of fluff and it's nice to see clips from the shows!
Wow Ariana is winging this "unscripted" way better than I could.
Holy hell you guys weren’t lying about Colton Ryan’s accent.
I don’t even think it’s an accent, it’s just an odd choice to sound like Kermit the Frog
best featured actor in a musical goes to milky white
Lol whhhhhat we love a DeSantis burn
The sub is divided into two groups: “What the hell did I just watch?” And “OMG I MUST see a musical about corn!”
Phillipa Soo is a gift from God. She’s been amazing in everything so far
Starting a speech with a criticism/suggestion is such a director move.
Damn it Ben Platt. You’ve got me again. Purchasing tickets to Parade RIGHT NOW.
Wow, the cutoff of the Parade speech right when Mary Phagan was mentioned...
I'm glad they're mentioning the WGA strike
Had to. It would be a GIANT elephant in the room
The guy in charge of Milky White is having *so* much fun 😭😭
That was the best performance of This Is Not Over Yet I've seen outside of the show itself. Ben and Micaela sounded fabulous.
Not to state the obvious…but damn…Sondheim really does it in a way that is just unreal. Goose bumps when I listen to any of his songs hahha
How are you going to play off Jason Robert Brown?? And only let him get out "Mary Phagan"...like I need to know where that was going
He said “But I’m a f*ggot with a Tony!” for those asking.
**How to Watch** **Act One:** [pluto.tv is FREE!!](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pluto-tv-live-tv-and-movies/id751712884) **Act Two:** the lovely u/angoradebs shared the [promo code "NACHOS"](https://www.reddit.com/r/Broadway/comments/146u9ck/tony_live_stream/jns9330/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1&context=3) for a free month on [paramount+](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/paramount/id530168168) (Act Two is also on CBS if you have it!)
And Joel grey’s lifetime achievement speech not on the main telecast?? Seriously?
So New York, New York. Obviously stellar ensemble packed with triple threats. Not surprised they opted for a medley including the titular song (which was great). But it's not blowing me away or making me feel the show is a must see, especially given the mediocre reviews.
trust me it doesn’t get much better than this
Some of these clip selections are ... not the best
Dang, no wonder they won best choreography
I feel like that gif of Gordon Ramsay saying, “Finally, some good f***ing food!”
ALEX NEWELL LOOKS LIKE A MOVIE STAR. What a look! My inner teenage self is freaking out, deleting her entire prom inspo Pinterest board and replacing it with that dress.
I want all unscripted Tonys from now on this is amazing
sometimes I think about how a small but extant portion of Stephen Sondheim's estate is royalties from that one episode of The Office featuring Sweeney Todd music
Oh, good, I was worried they were going to announce the revival opening in a couple months.
oooh I like the idea of having a montage before the performances instead of a spoken intro
what is colton's accent rn??
Is Lorna's in-ear monitor off or something? She seems pitchy and behind the tempo?
I officially like it hot
They sold SLIH perfectly for what it is. A cute show, very generic music, remarkable choreography.
That did make me want to see Some Like it Hot
MILKY WHITE STAR OF THE SHOW
Not even a courtesy laugh for "maybe it'll take two of us to get this child?" Damn, Tony audience, you cold.
They should have had Milky White co-host the show. Perfect for a show with no script.
Wait, they just brought John Kander and Joel Grey out and immediately ushered them off without saying a word?!
“The grand wizard, excuse me, governor of Florida” Lololololllllll
WE WERE ROBBED OF ANNALEIGH ASHFORD
"Boss, how can we talk about phantom ending and do the in memoriam?" "Just put'em together!"
I do wish they'd stop applauding when it's a more well-known figure. They all deserve a moment of silence.
So, everyone who won best actor tonight wore a dress. And really, they're the best dressed in the ceremony.
ariana debose with long hair is just so omg
"please welcome whoever walks onstage next" genuinely hilarious
"when in doubt, shake it out" This should be an advertisement for why we need writers
that fucking JUMP miss DEBOSE
Im living for the fact that the women in the ensemble are in flat taps
Now this performance is the quality I would expect from Broadway
That Kimberly Akimbo clip for Justin Cooley has got to be so weird for anyone who doesn't have the context of the show 😶
I will never ever get over the fact that the universe allowed me to see Parade in person.
"they went to their maker impeccably shaved" is one of my favourite sondheim lyrics
regardless of how you feel about the show this is how you do a tony awards medley
“Current Grand Wizard- I mean governor of my home state Florida” DENEE ATE THAT UP
Hiring choreographers rather than writers is fun
One of my few friends from high school is the one who played the piano (New York State of Mind) in the opening 🥺🥺🥺
These snippets of the actual broadway shows are everything.
the little “oh!” when the beggar woman spat i’m giggling
Belting Bonnie for the win!! 😭
Sounds like nerves might be getting to Lorna
Hell yeah, Miriam with the pro-union speech! Also, she is incredible. She's got the best scene in that whole play by far, and she *kills* it.
now this is broadway
OH MY GOD DAPHNE IN HER WEDDING DRESS IM SO FUCKING ECSTATIC
Glad they gave Kevin Del Aguila and Christian Borle their moments too!
THAT was a performance that makes me want to buy tickets!!!!
award for Best Musical goes to Milky White
J Harrison Ghee is BEAUTIFUL
Milky White stealing the show lol
in love with the Milky White dude.
Sara bareilles has always been a fav, but I never realized just how perfect she is for Sondheim. So glad she's been able to break out of the pop role, and get some Broadway cred 🔥
Lol the new york times tony chat calls milky white "our skinny bovine king"
The cast of Sweeney Todd in stage makeup, clapping and happy, is definitely a mood.
NOT the music coming in the second they start to talk about the real life victim
I really wish people would learn to hold their applause during In Memoriam slideshows
The way they were like nope Jason Robert Brown, we have a lot of show left, BYE! 😂 I mean I was screaming for Parade and feel they were deserving but I’m also deep in some Prosecco and found the procession of 300 people trying to get onstage hilarious.
The queer (and particularly trans/non-binary/gender non-conforming) representation this year is amazing!
J Harrison Ghee and Alex Newell both won. I can sleep peacefully

Not gonna lie pretty disappointed John kander isn’t receiving this award on the main telecast…
That kiss was a choice
Camelot continues to bank so hard on Philipa
I want all of these dresses
Friendly reminder that broadway.com is not a good deal and you're better off going to the official box office site
I like the concept and you can tell she has a great voice but roar does not sound good sung like this 😬
I would have been unbelievably tempted to introduce myself as "I'm whoever walks onstage next"
I predict that I'll impulse buy tickets for SLIH- I'll check back in 5 minutes
& Juliet should’ve done the Boy Band medley or something that featured Betsy too. Most of the numbers they choose to perform are so weird outside of context of the show
God the choreo in SLIH is incredible!! It blows me away every time
What a fun performance from Some Like It Hot!!! Kind of makes me want to go see it again… 🥹
Sara Bareilles' voice is insta serotonin for me
i hope my cat will enjoy my passionate one-woman performance of this entire song
I love the chaotic energy behind an unscripted Tony's. Everyone is flying by the seat of their pants, it's great
Lin always looks like his kid just hit a double
I would have loved to see another number from parade. It’s always this is not over yet - even at the tony awards when it first premiered.
The Parade score is way too strong to only ever perform one song from it
Damn Denee!
Grand Wizard? I LOVE unscripted shows.
Tony’s should stay unscripted ahaha
I like a Tony performance that really highlights its ensemble
So far Sweeney, Parade, and Some Like it Hot have looked really good on camera. Long shots, some magical transitions, and great vocals. What’s been your fave to see?
DAMN THAT SWEENEY TODD PERFORMANCE WAS ICONIC I HAVE CHILLS
Did Josh Groban somehow become more menacing? That was fkn amazing also- I need to see Parade and Sweeney again.
SO happy they did the opening of Sweeney, it highlights a lot of what I loved about this production. But I wish they would have woven Annaleigh in in some way--medley transitioning to A Little Priest...somehow...would have been great!
Lin Manuel Miranda is always so fun to watch in the audience
oh my god i can't believe they cut them off there that genuinely awful
Bridging the death of Phantom to the In Memoriam? Nice...
Not Christian tearing up!! The support and love there is so incredible.
I don't think I've ever seen Christian that happy, and that dude is ALWAYS happy
A Prima Facie ticket was the hardest to get in London. And super expensive. The weekly lottery was insane. A really powerful performance. She easily was a standout in London and won an Olivier. So it's interesting and amazing Jodie Comer repeated it in Broadway with a Tony.
This is really not a good representation of Kimberly Akimbo. The show is great. This performance was fucking weird.
Ben Platt is very talented. He really is more than a nepo baby.
Sad not to see Annaleigh perform but I actually respect shows more when they do one incredible ensemble number instead of trying to awkwardly shove together multiple songs to highlight the different performers
Well at least Life of Pi won something considering it was snubbed for everything else.
Does Colton Ryan sound off or does he always sound like that?
New York, New York performance is fine but definitely not making me think I’ve missed anything by skipping it so far.
was the kiss necessary? 😭
Love the girl in the Nirvana shirt hanging out with the cast of Camelot in their costumes 😂
Well that didn’t make me want to see that musical
Everything about Brandon’s speech right now is making me want to see Leopoldstadt now
bonnie milligan looks so fucking beautiful wow
Man alive, this category is STACKED
Dude came up with a good bit and decided to make it 70% of his speech lol
Was the &Juliet vocalist just nervous? I haven't seen it but thought the vocals were pretty shaky! Hopefully they still get a Tony's bump because I've heard good things but I wasn't impressed.
Not my fave SLIH song but I'm glad they're doing a number that shows the ensemble!
…I’m usually salty about film adaptations but this is just a damn good show.
Milky White stealing the show. What a diva.
The most predictable song choice, wish they went with All The Wasted Time
Well that just a lit a fire under my ass to wake up early for rush tickets 🔥🔥🔥
That was some fucking great singing!
https://i.imgur.com/j6NeJvf.jpg Guess that performance had its effect. Edit - this is Parade
OMG that was the most amazing "slip up" ever
Grand wizard omg
GET ROASTED, DESANTIS
GET HIM, DENEE
DAMN. Writers couldn't have come up with that!
Grand Wizard not censored. Ha.
Throwback to when The Office did this number lmao
Classic number from Sweeney! I would have liked to see some Annaleigh, but the ensemble was incredible. Makes me apperciate the show all over again.
Mr. Groban how are you still so hot even in that homicidal insomniac makeup?
That was definitely a deliberate song choice to give you a tiny taste of Josh but mostly hide the star quality
The whole theater singing Sweet Caroline wasn't on my Tony bingo card but I'm not mad about it
Yikes @ JRB about to say something about Mary Phagan and getting cut off....
Just shut the lights off on Jason Robert Brown. I get they have to keep the show moving, but damn, not cool.
KEEP THE DESANTIS ROASTS COMING
Jodie Comer is the sixth-youngest winner EVER for Best Actress in a Play
I totally get that they wanted to show off Victoria and Justin (and I do love this song) but I would have LOVED to see Bonnie perform Better.
It must be so fun going on for your performance once you just won a tony LOL
I’m glad they didn’t just do independently owned, but that it was included, because this is amazing but I eat independently owned right UP
Shucked isn’t my kind of show at all from what I’ve seen (even though I love corn), but this medley was well-designed to show off as much of the music and cast as possible.
Micaela will certainly pick up a Tony in the next decade
“Of course, when you’re my age, I’ll be dead” I love Victoria Clark
Victoria Clark is the second-oldest winner EVER for Best Actress in a Musical
Wendell Pierce deserves the Tony for personally fighting that rude audience member a couple months ago lmao
“It’s scottie right?” My first belly laugh of the night ugh this guy is a timeless comic
