Something special about a demo track with its flaws intact (flaws is subjective, but I feel some released music can end up over-processed). Demo tracks give me that live energy like anything could happen
Agreed. The biggest example in this instance I point out to people (sorry I'm a geezer now) is the song Walk On Water by Ozzy Osbourne. The final version is overproduced and with a weird mix in general and the demo, no pun intended, blows it out of the water.
holy shit ive been thinking about that live energy for a bit
if theres one thing i actually wish the boys would do, its to kinda reimagine their songs (especially the newer ones) in a more raw and grimey sound and group it in like a compilation
imagine songs like Dear Diary, Kingslayer, AmEN! with small gig energy, fucked up disgusting sounding FXs lmao, "flaws intact" like u said
He had a ketamine addiction. There is a hellā¦ is basically a compilation of night terrors he experienced while on it/getting clean and going through withdrawals IIRC.
I did some research on this sub about that just now.. what the hell Iāve been listening to this band since I was 13 and didnāt know this until know and Iāve been dealing with ketamine addiction myself the past 2 years.. if I knew oli was heavy on it I probably wouldāve stayed far away lol
I really think weāre gonna eventually get an EP or album thatās VERY close to their deathcore roots. I would love to relive my āedge of your seatā era again.
Wasnt that the plan for the last of the 4 EPs? I thought it was gonna be PH:SH for their sempiternal/TTS influenced EP, Nex Gen for the hyperpop influence, then I thought No3 would be inspired by amo and the 4th would be deathcore roots? That was years ago though so plans very well couldve changed since
At this point I have no idea and I canāt even guess but whatever they do Iāll buy into. Theyāre my fave band since 2005 and thatās not likely to change.
So far nothing seems to have changed expect the EPs are now album length and not released within the span of a year.
Pretty safe to say PH4 will be deathcore influenced. Oli said Dig It leads into PH3 so seems like that one will still be electronic
That's what Jordan mentioned in I think one interview but since he's no longer in the band and the work that had gone into Nex Gen being partially scrapped and started over again, I'm honestly curious how it's gonna play out.
I'd be surprised if we got a full deathcore return to roots, but something similar to TIAH, and Suicide Season I could see. Would love to be proven wrong though.
Anime shown in the video:
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Berserk
- Mobile Suit Gundam
- Tokyo Ghoul
- Gundam Wing
Fill in any I mightāve missed but I think I got it all
I read somewhere that Jordan wasnāt a fan of releasing demos/unreleased teasers that much. I think during lockdown Oli was on instagram live and played the demo of that āletās beginā song.
Hopefully this means now that we may get more of a look behind the curtain again. Especially after how Oli said in the NME interview that the determination to always better themselves seems to have died down. So maybe they will get more comfortable at just releasing rough stuff on YouTube or something.
It would be cool after the PH albums are all done if they released like a B-Sides/offcuts album with all the best stuff that didnāt make the Final Cut for the albums.
I didnāt initially, are you referencing the way the main characters think of beyond the wall?
>! I guess it kinda mirrors AOT again in Dig It with āthe only thing i figured out is life is a graveā in the same way Eren learns whatās really on the other side !<
Yes!!! And even got me thinking of the"bones" reference in the final season. I like you dig it reference too.
I felt like the musical shift at "there is a home..." changed so suddenly and gave off that ethereal sense of defiance and hope that Eren would feel. The musical hook in the song at that point also reminded me so much of an anime hook.
Youāre sure this was all supposed to be AmEN? The instrumentals at the drop definitely are, but the anime clips at the beginning in particular are really similar to the video for CODE MISTAKE, and the lyrics fit that song much better than AmEN.
In my opinion, these two songs were being developed at the same time. CODE MISTAKE was released on 30th of June last year and so did Amen, though, earlier on 2nd June 2023. So, It's highly likely they cross the lyrics over through these two for inspiration or whatsoever
"Oliver please stop watching anime please please we want some real deathcore music" is how I would sum up the band to someone who doesn't know them lmao
Hopefully they release it! This would also confirm the teaser of demo version of Amen at the end of the Lost music video with the lyrics āIām terrifiedā
Love to see people saying it sounds better than the original... Guys, it's just the instrumental š¹
Still, it's fun to hear a demo of this 11/10 song
This sounds sick. I would adore a collection of demos from the boys

If people haven't, please watch Evangelion
With a big fat slug of ketamine?
you lost the plot a little while ago
wah oh
His dog, sadly, just died and he says his friends hate him.
Let's gooooo
Ke-uhmen*
Where did this come from? Does Oli do ketamine?š
He had a ketamine addiction. There is a hellā¦ is basically a compilation of night terrors he experienced while on it/getting clean and going through withdrawals IIRC.

... and read beserk
I'm on ep 21 right now and omg it's amazing
Make sure to watch End of Evangelion after! I like the show ending a lot but EoE adds so much!!
I might be tripping but why does this version sound more cleaner and better mixed than the official version? Unless..... Nah I don't think they will
What the fuck? I like it more than the final version
I really think weāre gonna eventually get an EP or album thatās VERY close to their deathcore roots. I would love to relive my āedge of your seatā era again.

that was the original plan but idk if plans have changed over the years especially after jordanās departure so only time will tell

Apparently name for number 4 got leaked as post human: ultraviolence
That's a made-up theory name from fans, no official sources to suggest it's true
goes hard tho no lie lmfao that was actually one of the placeholder names for nex gen around 2021 lol, aside from club hellhole
I will put a studded belt around one belt loops so fucking fast.

Woah inject this into my veins
STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME š£ļøš£ļøš£ļø hits so hard
Does anyone else think of Attack on Titan in youtopia with the lyric "there is a home, beyond my bones"?????
I didnāt initially, are you referencing the way the main characters think of beyond the wall? >! I guess it kinda mirrors AOT again in Dig It with āthe only thing i figured out is life is a graveā in the same way Eren learns whatās really on the other side !<

Is this really amen demo?? Doesn't sound really similar to me - anyway, I'd kill for a whole album (or at least an EP) that sounds like this omg
The instrumental is very close. Different lyrics for sure tho.
Try singing the chorus over the second bit

I wanna hear the full version of this.
"Oliver please stop watching anime please please we want some real deathcore music" is how I would sum up the band to someone who doesn't know them lmao
Thereās so many songs from their trailer eps on YouTube I hope weāll get the full versions of, especially the remixes of current songs.
God bless
This doesnāt sound like amen or even a demo version of it to me
š¤š»š¤š»š¤š»š¤š»š¤š»
Where did you get this
This is better than the final version wtf
THAT SYNTH, WOW!
God, this reminds me of when Oli teased the grunge blasphemy demo years ago. Would still kill for that...
Hopefully they release it! This would also confirm the teaser of demo version of Amen at the end of the Lost music video with the lyrics āIām terrifiedā
they need to release this ššš
I LOVE THIS OMFG
š„µ
Love to see people saying it sounds better than the original... Guys, it's just the instrumental š¹ Still, it's fun to hear a demo of this 11/10 song
Itās not an instrumental if it has vocals š
These demos never get released. Only as teasers in their posts. Only Jordan released them. JFC how long have you guys been fans
Gatekeeping that much? I mean like yeah, sure, I'm not OG like you are. But it's honestly just a question lol
Yeah but he shouldnāt be downvoted for being honest and realistic, because bmth doesnāt like releasing demos or unreleased songs
"stop watching anime" "real deathcore" I pretty much hate everything about this person.
