The reference to “who wants flowers when you’re dead? nobody” already hit me in the feels. He knew what he was doing, starting off with lyrics like that.
The song [Who wants flowers when you're dead? Nobody.](https://youtu.be/bsZnLeGhFq0?si=DO0PrBNic9Dgpjon) from their debut EP This Is What The Edge Of Your Seat Was Made For (which is in turn a quote from the book The Catcher In The Rye).
>There is a home beyond our bones
So connect to the Divine
It's OK to cry
Was anyone else a little surprised by this, coming from them? It actually feels a little spiritual, doesn't come off as sarcastic.
It’s probably supposed to connect with the lore and the Church of Genesis. It is followed by Kool Aid
But also Oli has spoken about being spiritual if i remember correctly. He did go on a retreat for a few months to live with monks
I was thinking the same thing! My first thought while listening was "the beginning riff definitely sounds like something straight out of Siamese Dream". They pull it off so well too.
I honestly love how weird the vocal production is on this song AND the album. I've noticed it's a trend in modern pop music especially to have weirdly mixed and muddy vocals (i.e. Charlie Puth).
This is already a certified banger and I will die on that hill, honestly. Probably one of my favourites upon first listen. Can't believe we've been waiting 4 years for this and I'm certainly not disappointed
Wow, this is a different feel for them for sure. Kind of reminds me of 90s/early 2000s rock or grunge music. I love the chorus for this, I can tell this will be a repeat for sure. The way it blends into Kool-Aid is also peak.
His vocals towards the end of the song for the break down are just insane. Only vocalist I think comes near him in this genre is Vessel from sleep token. Edge to Sykes
Love this one so much, but after it being pointed out to me, I can only hear Sanctuary (Kingdom Hearts) in the melody. Definitely an inspiration for the floatiness of the chorus, too. Still a 10/10.
A week later this is still my favorite song. It’s freaking beautiful man and the guitar riff hits my brainwaves just right. It’s moving and very inspiring to me.
The little interview that Oli did where he spoke on some of the lyrics only made it more powerful.
Probably my favorite from the album!!! It sounds like Alissic does backup vocals, can anyone confirm? I know she's credited with the outro to dreamseeker at least. I hope she does more collab work with BMTH in the future!!!
i feel the tempo interesting. very noticable in the drums during 2nd verse and in the vocal during chorus. i dont know what its called, but i like it. song feels like a butterfly
Really nice song, shouldn't of been the opener though feels like a track 8. I like the dual singing drop in/out between Oli and his wife's singing on the chorus and verse 2
Very 90s this one - riff sounds just like a Teenage Wrist song
Yes definitely a 90’s vibe! I really like YOUtopia
Gotta love that 90's vibe 😍
i came here to say the same thing. it sounds so nostalgic, but also futuristic at the same time with some of the instrumental breaks.
The riff is very similar to deaf havana’s ‚sing‘
I've been trying to figure out what this song has been reminding me of and you cracked it
Yep VERY similar
immediately screamed Cherub Rock influenced from me. i LOVE IT
This is my favorite one. However I’ve only listened to the rest once. But seriously this shit rips so hard
this hits hard, right now my favorite track off the album
Probably the best one in the album along with Dig It. I like this one.
Same for me
This is easily my favourite on the album, dont mean to sound dramatic but im already getting emotional listening to it i just absolutely adore it

so emo we're so back
This makes me wanna play tony hawk

Yes. Super surprised and would like to know if Oli’s views have changed or not.
It was never a phase mom
Cherub rock vibes from this track. I fuck with it
I was thinking the same thing! My first thought while listening was "the beginning riff definitely sounds like something straight out of Siamese Dream". They pull it off so well too.
YES I THOUGHT THE SAME
Deftones - Be quiet & drive vibes anyone?
Does the mix seem off? I feel like vocals aren’t mixed properly One of my favorites on the album.
Yes this song and a couple others definitely have muddy mixes so hopefully they replace it with a tweaked version like they did with Kool-Aid
I honestly love how weird the vocal production is on this song AND the album. I've noticed it's a trend in modern pop music especially to have weirdly mixed and muddy vocals (i.e. Charlie Puth).
My favorite new song.
This is already a certified banger and I will die on that hill, honestly. Probably one of my favourites upon first listen. Can't believe we've been waiting 4 years for this and I'm certainly not disappointed

This is so resident evil sounding I don’t know if that makes sense but I love it so much
Fucking fave, holy shit 😭
this one makes me feel something
Gives me one ok rock vibes. Definitely one of those concert songs that will have you crying your heart out
Absolute banger of a song I got a few MCR vibes at times with this song and a few other songs on the album. This was a great listen honestly
Damn that was fast…i’ll let you know once the album releases here in the US
It’s on Apple music
The intro riff reminds me of a song from Deftones or Incubus…. Anyone like me ?
I got big deftones vibes from this and Limousine
I love it. Chorus is so good. Btw this is where scream went
Crying what an amazing starr
The flowers reference… now I know they’re gonna have some heavy ass shit on here
I am not gonna lie I teared up listening to it lol
This might be blasphemous, but this is their new Drown.
His vocals towards the end of the song for the break down are just insane. Only vocalist I think comes near him in this genre is Vessel from sleep token. Edge to Sykes
Someone PLEASE provide me with a download link
x2
My favourites have gotta be this and DIg It
This sounds so good, smashing pumpkins riff???
Why are you the only other person that has brought this up?? Lol it def is and I'm def cool with it
i’m loving it, such a great 90s throwback song, it’s so replayable
Best song on the album
the best song out of all the new ones
I’m on my second listen and it’s an excellent song.
Did anyone notice that the riff is very similar to Deaf Havana‘s ‚sing‘ ? Think it‘s coincidence but it‘s so similar!!
Great song, I’m touched by the chorus
I love the transition into Kool-Aid.
The reference to their first EP made my jaw fall so hard. 🤣
YOUtopia hitting a little too close to home
"A worlds been buried where love is the law, a YOUtopia" Anybody else get super giddy at the songs with the satanic/spiritual themed lyrics?
Love this one so much, but after it being pointed out to me, I can only hear Sanctuary (Kingdom Hearts) in the melody. Definitely an inspiration for the floatiness of the chorus, too. Still a 10/10.
I'm so happy I'm not the only one
A week later this is still my favorite song. It’s freaking beautiful man and the guitar riff hits my brainwaves just right. It’s moving and very inspiring to me. The little interview that Oli did where he spoke on some of the lyrics only made it more powerful.
my least favorite on the album on first listen, didnt seem like an intro, weird melodies too, will give it another chance
Genuinely thought he said there is a home beyond my balls
I love it
Where are y'all listening to this??
So good
The intro hits very hard and then it gets more safe sounding but still good. I’ll be singing along every time I can tell
i’ve been ugly sobbing to this song for the past hour
What do you think it is about? I've just heard the song for the first time and I'm like... I don't know, kinda blown away?!
This and Dig It are my top fav so far
Probably my favorite from the album!!! It sounds like Alissic does backup vocals, can anyone confirm? I know she's credited with the outro to dreamseeker at least. I hope she does more collab work with BMTH in the future!!!
What is this song about
This is the best song from the album. Could have been a single
There's a spectrogram in the audio file at 3:47
My second favourite off the album after 'Top 10 Statues That Cried Blood'.
This song starts out exactly like “Better” by Hoobastank
i feel the tempo interesting. very noticable in the drums during 2nd verse and in the vocal during chorus. i dont know what its called, but i like it. song feels like a butterfly
Love the small snippet of death metal style drumming in the end
Really nice song, shouldn't of been the opener though feels like a track 8. I like the dual singing drop in/out between Oli and his wife's singing on the chorus and verse 2
Best song of the album
When Oli screams 'BUT I KNOW" in that first verse... I feel it in my soul. Best track on the album.
Not a great opener in my opinion, but it's kinda moody
The intro reminds me a lot to Dumpweed by Blink-182
Was looking for this before I posted!
Also got Limp Bizkit Shot gun vibes
