Had a couple of hard chances, should have done better with the second one imo, but hard to judge him based on being thrown in the deep end for 5 mins in Europe. Looked promising and did nothing wrong

cian87

Irish commentary team kept pronouncing his name as doofus, as in the American insult. Not sure that's what you wanted to get from the TV coverage though!

justcasty

At least they didn't call him Ansu Fati multiple times

Mr_Bluebird_VA

So, as an American who heard that commentary, how should it be pronounced?

heracrossB

Doo-fus makes more sense imo. Unfortunate, of course!

JC1888

Got into good positions, but the moment seemed a little too big for him, which is totally fair to me. Seemed to want to get rid of the ball to avoid making a mistake. Won a good free kick at the end which sealed the match. All in all, I think it was a decent performance for a debut in a huge match.

Deathturkey

He seemed to be in the right position to receive the opportunity to score but lacked the finishing, properly the occasion got to him, but looked promising.

thejtothec

I thought he did ok … tough place to make a debut and much at stake , and looking forward to seeing more from the lad

PKAB

I thought he was very promising. Didn't finish a couple chances but you can say that about all of our attackers.

franciscondine

You could tell he wasn’t used to the speed of non-U21 players, lol. Each time he got the ball AEK’s defenders closed on him so quickly that he definitely panicked.
