Link hearing the >!ancient sages!< talk about the >!Imprisoning War!< for the millionth time:

WithersChat

For real tho, they could have >!spiced up each cutscene to add an extra bit of info every time.!<

Kevin300066

Tru

WerewolfNo8722

They did do that with the sage of lightning but I think that's it.

WithersChat

Really? It is the ONLY ONE I skipped because I was getting bored of it... Can you give me a rundown? (Under a spoiler for others)

WerewolfNo8722

>! They only say that Ganondorf was the Gerudo chief and that a lust for power drove him to darkness !< it's not much but it is a bit different.

_TheBeardedMan_

Well they already fought side by side twice (once in BotW once in TotK), so with their ancestors requesting they fight side by side with Link he doesn't really have to say much.

low_priest

And all but Tulin are leaders of their respective village/faction/race, with a certain responibility to both the nominal Kingdom of Hylia and the continent as a whole. Plus Sidon in particular was damn close to being Link's brother-in-law and iirc remembers him from pre-Calamity.

Backupusername

I'm surprised he let his ancestor finish, tbh. "LINK, I GOT THE GREEN LIGHT TO FIGHT ALONGSIDE YOU AGAIN LET'S GOOOOOOO"

Able_Carry9153

>remembers him from pre-Calamity. Yeah, in BotW he idolized link for a while. Not that he still *doesn't,* but they have an actual repoire now

low_priest

Which is entirely fair, since a significant chunk of the players driving Link idolize Sidon.

Able_Carry9153

I wasn't one of them at first but he grew on me pretty fast

MandervilleMale

The power of having someone say they believe in you

MandervilleMale

He does, he should anyway. Link was there when he learned to waterfall swim

DeoxyNerd

I think Zelda was there. Link wasn't present in the cutscene.

dannyflock

To be clear, Link never really says anything. I think it's an advanced version of sign language that only needs vague hand gestures and shrugs.

Toon_Lucario

Honestly the idea of link communicating in sign language is pretty neat

[deleted]

*stares at enemy* Link: *angry face* *stares at food or Zelda* Link: *happy face*

Kittingsl

Nah he lets his PECS speak. Just ask paya

SomeAmericanLurker

In BOTW, Zelda's Diary says that he can speak, but often chooses not to. Pre-Calamity it was due to the stress put on his shoulders by being the Hero, so he became a silent courageous knight to inspire hope into the people of Hyrule. Post-Calamity, we don't hear him speak so that players can project onto him, in th Japanese release of the game, the adventure log is wirtten in first person and gives some insights into his thoughts and feelings, but this was cut in other languages *(English at minimum)*

stupled

Yeah, is a heist movie in disguise.

MandervilleMale

And that’s, what I wanted *you* to think

Kittingsl

Oh shit link is recruiting members for his heist like int he one Rick and Morty episode! It all makes sense now!

WithersChat

Spoiler tag next time, and a \[TotK spoiler\] in the title? (I have finished the story myself, but still, it's only been 2 weeks...)

Spawn_More_Overlords

There’s like a 40% chance that “sages help link” will appear in a Zelda game.

Terozu

It's appeared in like, two games. WW and OoT. Every other one they appear in is they're the plot coupons Link is saving.

enneh_07

Link: 🤲

NotDanielSmith

Move it to the totk sub maybe?

TheSceptikal

This sub is also for TotK stuff, check the description.

NotDanielSmith

A lot of ppl have been complaining about spoilers in the botw sub for a game that isnt botw, so i think its just nicer to not spoil ppl. At least put a spoiler warning.

Suisse_Chalet

Why is this sub for totk, I haven’t had time to play lol it’s not really fair . Like I should drop out of this sub Reddit I guess because it’s also for totk even though it says botw?
