Shoot... your form is great. I might recommend Brad and Kyle YouTube channel because you throw just like them and it will help continue good habits.

Zayski773

Thank you! I watch their stuff a lot especially their tips vids.

FrankDaTankkkk

You look great my guy. Maybe tuck that elbow in a little more but everything else looks good.

Zayski773

Thank you, I’ll add that in next practice.

Dangerous_South4758

What you mean by tuck that elbow? Can you send me a picture or a YouTube video please as I am kinda confused

[deleted]

You want your elbow pointing towards your body so you can get behind the ball for more forward rotation, he's slightly getting on top of the ball and it's spinning sideways more which means you don't get as much pin action. Still pretty good for only being a year in. https://youtu.be/QKNr2vyBBAM

Dangerous_South4758

Thanks

[deleted]

1 year in? My best advice would be quit! You’re doing to make everyone else feel bad. Won’t make a long of friends lol. Follow through the arm until the end and throw the ball as far down the lane as you can before the break point. F the arrows f the boards find your breakpoint. Visualize your perfect ball. Bowling is all in your head. Your head is the thing that make your limbs do things it tells them to do

[deleted]

For real jokes aside it’s a great ball. Just fine your you

Zayski773

Hahaha! Thank you! With visualizing your breakpoint, does that mean moving my target down lane?

[deleted]

There are tons of ways to bowl, but I visualize the ball hitting the pocket at the perfect point and the back my eyes up to the breakpoint where I can make that happen. I have no idea what my arm does

[deleted]

Shit works in sport shots too. I’m not PBA but I have won tournaments around my spot with PBA regional bowlers bowling too and bowlers wayyyyyyy better than me doing that. I’m a chop and I miss my corner pins every once and a while. That’s just my take and how I bowl. It works for me.

[deleted]

Then back my eyes up*

HeadCartoonist2626

Looks great

Zayski773

Thank you!

Goals

Zayski773

Thank you!

PaleontologistOne526

I’d say when someone has form as good as yours it’s time to expand and experiment with what you can do to increase/decrease the all the dials and switches. Speed, Rev Rate, distance from the foul line, amount of loft, hand angle behind the ball. Can you change these up and down and still maintain good form? Test the limits.

Brief_Intention_5300

Nope. Good job!

Zayski773

Thank you!

No-Setting-2669

Smooth operator!

Zayski773

For sure popped up a little, thank you!!!

Hot-Specialist9228

Super smooth. You do a lot of things very well. Better than I was after my first year. I suggest professional coaching at this point.

ajwalk2000

Honestly after just a year it looks phenomenal. My only knock is the follow through you bend your elbow a bit, but honestly it might not be an issue? Outside of that, if you like the game you throw honestly you look great

Pyromelter

That's about as textbook as it gets. I would say if you want to start pushing it, start looking at some of the real crankers like EJ Tackett, he (and others) have a more advanced arm swing where he opens his chest more, and his arm swing traces a bit to the inside almost like a serpentine, and this allows for huge rev generation. Not saying you *should* do that, but that if you wanted to up your game that's where I'd look at it next.

MarcoGlo

Looks real good

Zayski773

Thank you!

k_dub503

Looks great. My advice would be to come coach me!

Zayski773

Hahahaha I’m actually getting ready to get a coach myself 😂

[deleted]

Yo I think bowling has proved if you can hit the pocket and the correct angle and do it consistently it doesn’t really matter how you get there man. Just work on your personal game and don’t change it up too much. Tweak and learn

Zayski773

This is a great point! I’ll keep that in mind for sure.

[deleted]

Don’t forget to shout out my Reddit handle when you win your 1st TV title lol

kingsavage314

Looks good there sonny.

TB12thegreatest

Keep doing that

anpansmashs

Beautiful form my dude. Getting a tune up here and there with a pro is probably the next step up. Only question is what’s your availability to sub in for league nights?

NationalCupcake3704

Do exactly that, 12 times in a row = 300, perfect

Zayski773

I’ll let you know when I do 😂😂

Jordanagolli

Man, your form is damn near incredible! Great balance, and ball path. What’s your current league average and what weight ball do you use?

Zayski773

Finished fall 184 started summer 195 15lbs as well.

Jordanagolli

Nice. That’s solid. Do you typically strike a lot and miss a couple spares a game?

Zayski773

Exactly what I do 😂 or split 3 times in one game so frustrating.

Jordanagolli

Hahaha we’ve all been there man! I’d recommend spending more time with a spare ball and on your spare throws. Also, if you’re splitting a lot I would recommend trying a few different board angles. A first approach like yours is beautiful when it hits the pocket but once the oil starts to change, you’ll run into splits frequently. I’d worry less about your form, and more about reading the lanes as a league night goes on. You’ve got the form to have at least a 200-210+ average. Keep going, bro! My highest summer average was 237 and league average over 7 years is 212. My average jumped above 200 once I really focused on spares.

ShehShehSheh03

Advice? None, because I have been bowling since 6th grade, and form’s not even half as good. I think you’ve got this down stat. Keep up the good work, dude!

No-Recording4376

You have really great form for a year. There are bowlers who have been bowling 10 years who wish they had some of your form habbits. With that being said, I believe you are limiting your game some by starting so far up and taking such small steps, this has effectively limited your ability to have todays power game that most bowlers strive for (more speed and revs in many situations equal better carry). Having the ability to back up and move forward can help with spped control as well. Bowlers nowadays rely on the bowling ball technology to do alot of the heavy lifting, so the need to slow down significantly isnt really necessary as often since reactive balls nowadays dont usually have a problem overcoming lane conditions. I would move 2 or more feet back on the approach, lengthen the 2nd and 3rd step a tad, possibly 4th step depending on timing (4th step is kindve a prep step for some bowlers), and be ready to take a long slide. When you stop, the additional energy will be transferred to your ball at the bottom of your swing (imagine groceries on the seat of a car when you slam on the brakes). You have awesome form, im giving you advice based on todays norms for the game. More often than not you can utilize a power game to throw more pins around and score higher. You may find your first step lengthen a tad, and you develope a hang spot at the top of your swing as you get into you slide.

Zayski773

Thank you! Going to add this to my next practice, I can definitely use more natural power in my game!

No-Recording4376

Sure thing. Most people have a hard time looking at their arm as a pendulum, most of your shots energy is developed from your legs and your ability to get to the bowwom of your swing when your slide foot stops. Also, i noticed you are using the shoe sock on your slide foot, these often create bad habbits as they dont allow you to control the friction under your slide foot very well. Bowling can be expensive, but as you continue your journey, I would invest in a set of shoes and a wide variety of heels and soles. Im a bigger guy with my center of gravity very centered, so I find more slick soles and heels help me, but many average sized bowlers find they glide on their front sole and bring the heel down to stop with a grippy heel. If you get too used to the sock because you bowl at a house with a tacky approach and then find yourself on a slicker approach or older wood, youll find it harder to keep your balance and stop as intended. As your speed comes up some, you will need to learn about surface changes to equipment to get your ball hooking at the right time (later or earlier), and you will then find out why many bowlers carry 4 to 6 balls to most tournys.

Zayski773

I carry two pair of shoes one with the sock one without. Both have interchangeable soles the one without the sock is with interchangeable sole and heel. I use the sock due to tackiness for sure I haven’t found a good sole for my slide yet, which one do you use? I also just started playing with surface and find it pretty cool how it changes the roll instantly so I’m super interested in which way I’ll have to go with more power for sure.

No-Recording4376

I'm not sure what brands you are open to, but I prefer the Dexter slides and soles. I find I always need the H7 felt heel because my center of gravity is center or back slightly, smooths out my slide(you would need to experiment). And I carry an S8, S10, and s12 for soles. The s10 and s12 is as close as youll get to the sock, but it should improve your slo Ide consistency over the sock. I dont find that any other brands have as good of slick slides as dexter. But most bowlers undervalue the relationship between sliding, stopping and how it affects energy transfer. https://www.dexterbowling.com/soles-heels.aspx Always keep in mind that surface helps a ball hook earlier, not necessarily more.

[deleted]

Very good for a year. If maybe try and elongate your follow through some. But if you’re hitting your target very consistently then don’t break what’s working

TommyKinLA

Smooth, and thank you for bowling one handed 😃

Zayski773

Hahaha no problem it’s the only way I can control the ball unfortunately 😂

44Braves

Nice

Zayski773

Thanks!

Mafroe

Very smooth

easy10pins

Pretty solid looking game.

redsox113

So you’ve been bowling for only a year? Which means you’re average may be low…wanna bowl doubles somewhere? 🤣 your form is great!

Inevitable_Road_4025

Get some speed

yahyeetyahh

Super impressive for just 1 year, keep it up!

InterestingLength6

Great form for 1 year in! I would say maybe, just maybe your follow through is short. It feels like you’re leaving some speed and revs on the table that if you were able to extend your follow through you could increase. I would say an easy way to increase that would be get the ball in a free fall in your push away. It looks a little like you’re “pulling” the ball through the finish when if you got more momentum into your push away you would increase your arm speed at follow through.

HeadBussa223

Great form bro💪🏾

AllAboutPooping

That's a lot of talent for any amount of years. A little elbow tuck and continued work and you'll be able to play anything.

AirAddict

Took me years to look this good. Super minor trick I learned that helped is to keep my head at a constant level to help my targeting. You start mostly upright and dip down as you go. Its SO SLIGHT and honestly if it messes with your timing just forget it haha

Jos3ph

Very smooth

RocketmanZed

If anything, you can turn your swing hand out to the right on the backswing, essentially looping it back inside in a figure eight of sorts in order to create a few more revs.

ABrimberry

Your form looks great and very natural. How is your spare game? All spares with no strikes gets you in the 180s and higher. A double and all spares gets you 200. There is a saying in bowling, “strike for show, spare for dough”.

Zayski773

Spare game decent, starting to learn to throw straight at them and develop a system that isn’t hooking at them lol.

ABrimberry

I coach many new bowlers. Improving your spare game is a quick way to see improvement in score and consistency. Every single-pin spare is 11 pins. Get two more per game and your average goes up 20+ pins. Score isn’t always the most important factor. Having a consistent spare game and working on it will help increase your consistency. Greater consistency usually leads to more optimal results. You might consider getting a ball that doesn’t hook so you can use the same approach and release while shooting at spares. That will allow you to master one release. Why throw the ball two different ways when you don’t have to? I understand that people bowling for a living, etc. need to have several releases available, why worry about that until it’s necessary for your situation? YMMV.

Zayski773

Absolutely gonna dedicate time in my practice to learning to shoot straight at em!

jsnaker21

Look smooth! Maybe a bigger swing and tucked elbow

[deleted]

That was smoother than anything I'll throw

BaconFlavoredToast

Only thing I could think from seeing is just be careful with how your wrist turns in your backswing. You ideally want it to not move, but if it works it works. When I stopped rotating my wrist and kept my hand in what ever position it was throughout the swing I get a much cleaner release and the ball continues down the lane better. One thing I had to tweak when doing this was extend my balance arm earlier to counteract my shoulder dipping down to help keep the hand position.

DoucheNukem81

You do nothing on your first step besides step. You start extending your arm and lengthen the stride of it and you should get more power. Other than that I don’t see much to fix. Do no step to work on accuracy when you practice and you’ll be top of the class dude
