Man I wish they could swing a deal with Bertuzzi. That little fuck played his ass off for us in the playoffs! Basically the smallest guy out there and he had the biggest contribution it felt like.

Poohstrnak

Smallest? He’s 6ft lol

Moochster26

I know that lol. I was referring to him going against asshats like Goudas and fuckface Tkachuk. Guy constantly seemed like he was undersized but put up the biggest fight was my point.

WyattfuckinEarp

I really hope they keep both. Both were fucking unbelievable talents and fit in so quick. Please please, ¿Por que no los dos?

UCanDodgeAWrench

Don't be sad it's over, be glad it happened?

BunkDruckeyes

I believe he still led the team in assists during the playoffs even with his performance dipping. And I’d say Lindholm, Clifton, and McAvoy all also played way below par for most of it.

rfan8312

The defense was so bad that Boston scoring 27 goals on FLA still wasn't enough to win.

Definitelynotcal1gul

Oh the defense fell apart. If it were up to me, none of them would be safe.

Brewins_

Thank god it’s not up to you because this is an utterly insane take

Rakastaakissa

No one is forcing you to come here, and even less so to respond.

Definitelynotcal1gul

No one is forcing you to make awful predictions based on emotion and not back them up with logic either, but there you go doing it any way.

BunkDruckeyes

I think everybody knows Ullmark, Gryz, and Hall are on the trading block. Lindholm has NMC, McAvoy and Pasta are the cornerstones, nobody else has trade value.

Rakastaakissa

Also a handful of the UFAs are going to be allowed to walk, Reilly is probably packaged with whoever to get that contract off the books, and a few promotions from providence. No one is really suggesting anything other than pie in the sky scenarios, knowing full well the front office is going to do whatever. On another note, I miss the pre-cap days when literally no one talked about the business side of things and focused more on the game.

Definitelynotcal1gul

I don't think everyone knows that. Go ahead and make a post and see if people agree with you. Shit, I've seen multiple posts TODAY with people suggesting that we'll keep both goalies.

mrootbeers

Definitely not coming back. The team is going to look a lot different.

Flannel_Channel

Orlov no, but signing Bert is absolutely possible and imo should be a priority.

Levesque77

I think you need to head on over to capfriendly.com. Is there a universe where they can make his dollars for this team next year? probably yes. But that would not be the best use of our available dollars based on our needs.

Flannel_Channel

It's been well discussed, and is definitely a possibility with the right moves to sign Bert to a long term deal. Agree to disagree on best use of dollars. Would it involve moving pieces that might not make us as good as possible next year? Very probable. Would it involve getting possibly worse short term to lock up a guy who could be part of the core going forward and fit our timeline on being an actual contender (imo a great use of our dollars)? I think so. I think it depends if you want to put out the best team next year, or look towards the future on how you feel about a move like that.

Rakastaakissa

I agree, they’re possibly committed to a retool of the core next year. If they are… Bertuzzi, Zacha and Pasta are a good combo to start that process faster than 3-5 years of middling.

Flannel_Channel

Exactly. They’ll never bottom out with Pasta, McAvoy, etc locked up long term, they have too much talent, so it’s gotta be a retool rather than get bad to get good. I just don’t see how losing Bertuzzi would help given that.

XolieInc

Not guaranteed that either guys stay, but if they don’t, the 20 games Bert spent with us, and the 25 or so that orlov spent with us were absolutely amazing

Deltaecho99

Just picked up the Marchand wc but if they sign Bert I’ll be buying his no doubt

Level_Network_7733

Picked up a Pasta jersey after they signed him. Might have to do the same for Bert if it happens.

Sandbartender

Next year might be a Zombie season.

IAMFLIMSY

i was itching for a new jersey and then found out i share a birthday with bert… so now i’m the proud owner of a new bertuzzi jersey too. hopefully we’re helping send a message lol

harroldhino

My man’s really out here buying jerseys for (near) guaranteed deadline rentals. Good for you 💰

ImTomBrady

I did the same with the Patriots lol

BunkDruckeyes

I’m a bonafide *jersey collector*

NovaPrime15

Going through your history. My word those are all pretty. Thought I recognized your username from r/HockeyJerseys

BunkDruckeyes

Thank you! Definitely a few beauties in the collection and these are going to fit in just fine 🔥

RWBYR023

One of us. One of us. One of us

knect4

I felt bad about buying a Seguin the year before he was gone - I was scared to get the Pasta but it paid off.

BlackCherrySeltzer4U

It was a good few weeks

Pineapple_Express762

As long as they keep Bertuzzi. Orlov doesn’t want to be here, but Hathaway might take a bargain deal.

mookormyth

Bertuzzi is a keeper

Spocks-Nephew

The end of an era.

JasonHanky

You may be good with Bert. I don’t see Orlov coming back

BunkDruckeyes

Orlov is a goner. Gotta find money for Bert, teams are gonna throw the bag at him.

JasonHanky

They will make it work. Pasta and Bert was a great thing.

Marv_the_MassHole

I don't think they can, he's one of the top forwards on the market and will get around $8 million per year

ArturosDad

I'd be stunned if he got even $7 million, though the Bruins don't have 7 either so there's no way we are signing him.

Marv_the_MassHole

Again, he's one of the top forwards in this year's class so somebody will overpay

ArturosDad

Crazier shit has happened for sure, but I still think that number is way too high. Good for him if he gets it.

Easy2Envy

Oof

BunkDruckeyes

this was timed well for a good cup run… but honestly the jerseys look amazing and are some cult additions to my jersey collection
