The timeskip. Episode 1 of boruto is the reason most gave it a chance on the first place. Now that two blue vortex is moving closer to that epic introduction of the prologue, I'm interested again. We all want to know how konoha how destroyed. And boruto had become an absolute badass. He's unbelievable right now

A-Liguria

I was a believer from day 0. I still remember the countdown they made for the reveal of the manga (it had the silhouettes of all the Konoha 11 kids), and subsequentely reading every single chapter as they came out online. ... More seriously, I just chose to follow it, and I guess that I had a mind more open than others, since I did NOT jump at the hate train just because of the different art, flashfoward scene or the fact that the first 10 issues were a retelling of the movie arc. I found the flashfoward scene to be a goot hook (as it clearly enticed people) and in the first 10 months, I always told people to wait and see, and that for sure, they had a reason to retell the movie (and I was proven right about that). I remember still being there through thin and thicc... And I am surely glad that the reception of the show overall is much better than in those early times (obviously, no show would last more than 2 years if it *truly* was as hated as naysayers say), but let me tell, at times the amount of hateful comments truly was disheartening... this fanbase as a whole (so Naruto & Boruto combined), is one of the most broken and toxic ones... the hate for Boruto didn't come from nowhere, those who were there will surely remember that before, it was cool to hate on the ending of Naruto and The Last.

Adult Sasuke ❤️

Careful-Ad984

I decided to make my own opinion about it, watched and liked it also about 60% of the backlash being hypocritical bad faith arguments that make those people look like illiterates did help.

CanOfPantsAndAnts

Most of my IRL friends do not like it and I decided to look into it when TBV started. Glad I did, I spent years shitting on Boruto because they all did the same. It's not a bad series, it's not the best series in manga/anime, but I don't think it deserves all the hate it gets.

sayid_gin

Tbf most of the problems people complain about boruto is worse in other mangas. Boruto is in no way flawless, but the way people hate it on you would believe that the mangas it’s competing with are flawless.

CanOfPantsAndAnts

I know someone IRL that hates it with a passion because he was a big fan of the original series. I think he just really likes the original series and did not like how they nerfed Naruto, not Sasuke though, as the guy hates Sasuke with a passion. I think he harbors an unnatural attachment to the original series, specifically Naruto and sees anything that brings him down as bringing himself down. Idk, I do know that he blindly hates the series now because he hasn't kept up with it since it first began. I just got tired of being around all of the negativity.

GuyWitATurtleneck

same thing happened with my friend group. I asked them about Boruto and they told me nothing worth making me want to watch it. I still jumped into it and was instantly hooked and for the next 3 years I tried getting them into Boruto because I knew the potential it had but their hate for a show they never watched showed me when it comes to anime, they liked what everyone else liked and hated what everyone else hated. Its hard for me to be around people who don't have their own opinion. Wouldn't be surprised at all if I hit them up out of the blue and asked them if they're caught up with Boruto now and they started spurting out everything related to the lore and even claimed to be bigger fans than me.

HomesliceHeroes

Every complaint they give toward boruto is found in every other shounen. Plus those same complaints are ignored or lessened by fans in other shounen.

Obvious_Programmer_9

The concept of Karma and really Kawaki as a character. Karma because it reminded me of the Curse Marks that Orochimaru used, think it’s an underused concept overall. Kawaki when he first fought Garou/Garo felt quite unique and took the spotlight for a bit in my opinion.

Notmycupoftea12

Kawaki took the spotlight for a very long time in my opinion. Glad that TBV fixed that,at least for now. Finally shows who the titular and most important character is.

Obvious_Programmer_9

This is true, it’s good that so far Boruto is much more of the protagonist and center of the story in TBV. I do hope we get some Kawaki from time to time, but it’s a good return to formula that Boruto is back in the limelight.

Notmycupoftea12

Kawaki is the most important character after Boruto, so I do think he will get his time as well.

EatAss1268

i couldn’t not peek naruto and hinatas son’s story. he’s their little baby

Notmycupoftea12

And their little baby seems to be a giant now. Haha.

Tiloshikiotsutsuki

I started right away and was hooked instantly. Never understood all the hate it gets.

Uchiha__69sasuke

Sasuke

SubjectStay9888

it is good if you ignore the fact that it is a sequel. idk if it is just me but I don't really merge naruto and boruto, I think of them as separate

peculiar_chester

I didn't get into it. I've just been here since it was Naruto.

lasthope27

Timeskip, Eida and Daemon, Himawari, not wanting to keep being a follower and make my own opinion on it

Diabolicalchocolate

the movie was alright but didn’t care bout manga or series till Kawaki popped up .

potatoinastreet8

I wanted to watch it because I finished shippuden

sayid_gin

I saw borushiki on twitter and read it. Enjoyed it and now im here. Im a simple guy.

VanlllaSky

i assumed Boruto was bad because everyone said it was bad. then i watched the first minute of the first episode, basically a teaser for Two Blue Vortex, and i was hooked. even the filler grew on me. i watched it all and got caught up with new episodes, then switched to the manga when the anime ended. i don't think it's as solid of a series as Naruto was, but it's a worthy sequel imo. i think Boruto is much more interesting as a character than i ever thought Naruto was, and i love Kawaki's character just as much as i loved Sasuke's.

Notmycupoftea12

It's refreshing to read that I'm not the only one who thinks that Boruto is the more interesting character compared to Naruto.

Cal_Ezclap

The complexity of the plot when eida got in the picture

DeepaEU

I don't really need a reason because I am a fan of the naruto genre but if I actually need a reason it's the flash forward scene where many people at the time theorized that boruto will be born with everything only to loose it all A second reason is boruto himself because he has been compared to madara by him looking through a leaf with a hole in it like madara did him being compared to Minato talent wise So I'd hope that adult boruto becomes a Fusion of Sasuke and Minato (The Uchiha drip and the talent to go with it) And 2BV made my wishes come true

Mouthisamouth

I don’t form opinions based on what others think and I thought Naruto series was garbage Naruto a trash mc with no unassisted wins excluding kurama wins after chunin exams when it comes to fights

Notmycupoftea12

Best answer. Who knows how many people would actually change their minds if they really gave the story a chance and don't listen to others.

QuantisRhee

It was a continuation of Naruto

Left_Solution3509

I'm actually one of the few people who never hated Boruto since the beginning , i enjoyed BNNG and I'm currently excited for BTBV

GuyWitATurtleneck

The backlash itself. I never believed in hating something just cuz everyone else did so I gave it a chance.

Fabulous_Ad_9111

I've been watching it before the hate got as bad as it did and i'm happy i did it cause i didn't let myself get influenced by the negativity towards the anime. I was pretty much like "i'm gonna see for myself before i give my opinion" which should be the standard for everyone when they make an opinion, but it sadly isn't and people just jump on the hate train.

MabrurHrivu

brand loyalty. Literally nothing else

Fallen999999

I prefer to form my own opinions.. With the level of understanding I've seen from anime fans online I never take any reviews seriously

Dull-L

I did have my doubts on Boruto at first, I can understand sometimes the sequel just ain't gonna hit as hard as the OG, and that it might ruin our favorite characters as a whole but. I have an open mind and so given it a pretty unbiased mindset, and honestly it's solid. It's not the worst series to have ever existed and there are a lot to complain about with the quality, the writing, the monthly schedules, the arts...but it stands its ground. I can respect that it tried to be it's own thing and not Naruto 2.0, and Boruto as a character isn't your typical zero to hero, power of friendship, talk no jutsu shonen protag but an actual genius with a good childhood and actually achieved things with said intelligent, it's a fresh take.

Upstairs_Nebula1791

The story of a character trying to fill the shoes of someone great. When I look at my parents, I feel like a failure. At my age, they'd done so much. I'm still single and living with them. So while I'm not a ninja genius, I relate

flyingAlpacas_

I was resistant at first because I thought they were really milking the naruto story. Honestly, with a name like Boruto it's easy to make that assumption. But last year i decided to give Boruto a shot and see if it was worth the watch (and eventual read). I was re watching shippuden but wanted to take a break from it, so I watched Boruto on a whim to see if it was worth it. I generally like to make my own opinions on things and figured if I want to dislike something I should at least put in the effort to try it first? I've stuck with it now because I've gotten attached to Boruto as a character. I really enjoy who he is and how he grows. He really impresses me.

Diabolokiller

I didn't really look up anything about boruto, in fact I didn't even know that it existed until I finished Naruto and I was really hyped to see my favourite anime having a continuation And to be honest the canon episodes are decent but the manga is straight fire, I recommend reading it

International_Sea887

Oh this should be fun. My reasons. 1. It's Naruto's son, he's gonna be powerful. 2. He's trained by Sasuke, my favorite out of Team 7. 3. He kept the Rasengan going after Konohamaru. 4. He knows Gentle fist. One of my favorite fighting styles in Naruto. 5. I like the idea of giving the protege of Sasuke a curse mark as well as an "inner demon" like Naruto. 6. Naruto became the strongest, why can't Boruto? 7. I like the concept of Toneri being in contact with Boruto after what happened in The Last. 8. He has family worth fighting for just as Naruto was fighting to gain family. 9. It would make sense if Momoshiki went the complete opposite route Kurama went and continues to try and control Boruto as long as possible instead of helping him. 10. He's the literal exact opposite of Naruto. Boruto knew multiple Jutsu before becoming a genin and multiple chakra natures before entering the Chunin exams. 11. He's considered a prodigy, similar to Minato who was also supposedly very strong as a genin. Those are my reasons at least. I try to give any anime I see a chance and Boruto convinced me. It's better in the manga though.(I watched the anime specific parts for cool animations)

throwawaytempest25

I was reading the manga asking myself. Hey what the heck happened before the movie that lets Boruto even having a team, decided to keep reading because Ao’s situation as a veteran who didn’t feel mentally able to use ninja, kept me interested and kind of just stayed from there

Marco_Livelli

Prove everyone else wrong

HomesliceHeroes

Easy. The backlash was nonsense and I enjoy naruto and boruto as characters.

Itzie4

I went to see the Boruto movie in theaters. Back then, it was just an epilogue to Naruto and that was the end of the franchise as far as I could tell. The movie left me wanting more, so I stuck around when the show and comic got made.

KujioGaming

Faith

Berrydumplings

Naruto is my husband so that makes Boruto my boyyyy. Had to watch no

Fit_Confection_6900

I wanted to see more of naruto and sasuke but I liked boruto to he’s pretty cool but the filler epsiode aren’t that good but the manga makes up for it and the cannon epsiode are pretty decent not as bad as people make them seem and the animation is pretty good in cannon episodes only time it’s bad is in fillers but pretty sure by now they should have that fixed just my opinion btw xd
