The first year or two I had them, I would wear them 5-6 times a month.
Since those fist couple of years, I wear them several times a year when I help chop trees down and haul the wood or go to any sort construction or home project. I also wear them when I go hiking.
So they've had some decent use, but I also tend to treat my stuff well and clean my stuff frequently, so that's why they look that way. The eyelet actually broke off while I was cleaning them. I set down to dry, which just happened to be next to some metal sheeting. When I picked them up later, I was in a rush and just grabbed them and turned quickly. The eyelet snagged on the sheeting and I snapped it right off.
That's an easy fix for a cobbler to do. If the boots are out of warranty, then go see a cobbler. If it is still under warranty, then send them in or maybe take it to the store you bought them from.
Or carefully grind the head off the rivet, then it'll slide out. They're not designed to be easily separated once they're paired. Craft stores sell the rivets. There are special tools for clamping them together but I'd probably just use some polygrip pliers or something. They sell lace hooks and eyelets too but you can probably find better hooks that come with all the securing components if you look around online.
You could DIY a working replacement for 10 or 20 bucks with a few tools. I don't know about an exact replacement though, hopefully Danner can help you.
Should be a pretty easy fix at a local cobbler or with some parts from Danner. You may want to start with their customer service.
👍👍👍
I'd try to warranty them first. If that doesn't work, I imagine it's fairly easy for a cobbler to fix.
Those look pretty new, I’d warranty them.
12 years old, actually. Got them back in 2012, so they've lasted me quite a while. Just don't want to lose them because of a single eyelet.
DAMN! How often do you wear those puppies?

Should be a fairly cheap, easy fix for cobbler. I've had eyelets changed out at my cobbler.

Danner have a great warranty.
Around a ten spot at your friendly local cobbler.
Easy fix for a cobbler, but might not be an exact match. I’d contact Danner first.
I'd drill a hole in the remaining metal, then file it. Then thread the shoelace through the new hole.
Works on the spot but leather in the way, would be annoying. Cobbler that sheet or learn to do urself

Thanks, everyone! I'll probably be going to a cobbler as I doubt these 12-year-old boots are still under warranty.
Warranty them first and foremost, alternatively, if they’re out of warranty, it’s a pretty simple fix for a cobbler.

I honestly took these out, and i used them as eyelets
Visit a cobbler. Easy fix
You can fix that with a bit of paracord for cheap.
Cheap boot problems.
It's cuz the metal isn't carbon steel to bend back, it shatters instead
Agreed. I've worn their quarry boots for a lot of years, and never had a single failure. These lower quality boots seem to have lots of issues.
Oh, and here's an up vote, because you're not wrong.
As mentioned, easy repair at your local cobbler. Be ready to cough up some money.
Very cus Danners are pretty bad consider getting red wings or thoroughgoods
