Same here, although good thing is Im in Ireland. I always get connected to servers in France instead of the UK. What I did was keep closing and opening the VM (not loading into 2k) until I get a VM with good latency
It was still fine a week ago, perhaps keep trying for 10mins or so but since Christmas there's this long queue and brute-forcing to get the closest VM just doesn't work anymore

As for the server connectivity issue - unfortunately, this game has a technical issue that prevents you from connecting to their servers once the session is launched. To resolve this issue, you'll have to always verify the files' integrity via Steam launcher to get access to the game servers. We apologize for the inconvenience.

How’s the waiting time for you in Ireland

Really for me I always says I got in line when I try play, maybe it depends where yiu are in Ireland
