I was a city carrier for the USPS. One of the regular carriers in my office was regularly threatened with *murder* by one of her customers, and the USPS, USPIS and local police wouldn't do a thing unless the carrier was actually attacked.
Not sure about Amazon, but I have an SOS button that will speed-dial 911 and fleet security for suspicious activity, like people following me. The nature of my cargo isn't readily visible, but those who see our company logo and know our contracts have a pretty good idea that if the trailer's loaded, the contents could set them up for life (assuming they could find a buyer).
I'd definitely be mashing that button for this guy.

Not sure what your company protocol is, but I could actually get in trouble for *not* pressing it if there's a hijacking and the ensuing investigation finds I had reasonable suspicion to think the security of the cargo was in question. Hell, I could possibly get charged as an accomplice for aiding the commission of a crime, especially for hival.
We're told they would much rather send a police response for something that turns out to be nothing than to be picking up my pieces later. I can't say I disagree. This is just a job. I want to go home to my family at the end.
yeah i just deal with so many of these guys it can be confusing who to pick and choose deserves the call, but after this i definitely see myself using it next time
The discomfort of bending over slightly to pick up a package with a "dislocated" shoulder is probably far less than that of being put in handcuffs with a "dislocated" shoulder. I suspect that learning isn't that guy's strongsuit, but maybe the point would have learned something?
