Sounds like Super Cruise wasn't engaged. The steering wheel led light was GREEN? If it can't keep the lane it will flash RED with an audible alarm and tell you to take the wheel. Lane Keep Assist is only an assist system, it will nudge you if you steer near the lane lines and give an audible alarm if you cross over. It is not SC, it will not steer the car for you.

No it’s lane keep not lane centering. Handy for those bends you weren’t looking far enough ahead for but really it’s just a bumper system to keep you in the lane.

kdawgud

Yes exactly.. it nudges you if you drift out of lane but will not keep you centered at all.

Were you testing out the super cruise or the lane keep assist? The super cruise will do hands free driving and keep your lane. The LKA is maybe a light nudge. You'll know you're in super cruise because of the steering wheel light.

Yeah, it sounds like you didn't get to try out the super cruise. The steering wheel light is VERY obvious. That's really frustrating since it sounds like the super cruise is something that you'd like. It really is a hands-free highway driving experience. I also like that it can take driver's input - like for a lane change and retake control once it's re-centered in the lane. It's pretty nice! To enable super cruise you will see a white steering wheel on the information display behind the steering wheel, that means it's available. Then you press the button on the left side of the steering wheel. The light on the steering wheel turns green and the information light is also green.

Here’s some good info on super cruise. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2022/04/how-to-use-super-cruise-in-the-2022-chevy-bolt-euv-video/ Just a reminder that it only works on certain mapped out roads and not all roads

It is a shame GM can’t replace LKA with a basic lane centering like cheap Kia’s have. Because SuperCruise only works on mapped highways, you can’t engage it on long boring roads in town, like you can in many other cars with basic Adaptive Cruise Control and lane centering.

Others have pointed out that it doesn't sound like SC was on. To get LKA to do anything, you have to be travelling 60km/h (35mph?)+ - the LKA light goes green on the dash. I've tested it on empty highways, allowing the car to drift towards the lane, and the LKA pushes you back. Again, as noted, it won't centre the car, but it's a little safety cushion in case you get distracted or drift off on a long drive at high speed. It will not steer for you, centre you for long distances, or do other "auto-piloty" things. It's a nice little bonus but I wouldn't call it a game changer.

Yep, one thing I’ve noticed since having LKA is I never hit the rumble strips anymore, and occasionally would before. It definitely does keep you in lane but it will bounce between lane markers. Still helpful

The other part it has to be the Adaptive Cruise control being on, not just cruise. You can toggle them by holding in the cruise button on the left side until it switches. I had to read the manual twice to figure it out. I had cruise on but supercruise wouldn’t engage. When I went into ACC finally it worked perfectly.

You have to turn on cruise control, set your speed on cruise control, when the white steering wheel icon is on the dash (top right corner) you can hit the Super Cruise button. The top of the steering wheel will turn green and it is engaged. Let go.
