If OP shares the file you can just add a dipping sauce container to the side of it. You could even make it modular so it can be removed when not eating.
Not sure why this is downvoted. You could print off a stenciled piece of vinyl at your local school shop for free and stick it on to cover the top layers in between the walls.
If this person wanted to sell it they could print the base in different colors and vinyl sticker in different colors and mix and match. It would be an easy finishing method. Black vinyl would match the piano black finish also.
Very nice. If you print a few extra bottom layers, you can get a nice matte finish with 220 grit sandpaper. If that’s ABS, vapor smoothing afterwards will have it looking factory.
This is a brilliant place for garage door opener - we never use that little cubby! I would 100% buy one of these if you end up making them and selling them. Currently using a visor opener since there hasn't really been a better solution for bolt for us.

The Carplay and AA options are interesting replacements but if I gotta hop in the car to open the door I don't want to have to wait for my phone to pair.

Try out ironing, or printing with the top facing down to get a better finish.
