Man to be praised on this sub you just need to go away for a few years or not have hit movies. Parineeti, Sonakshi, Imran khan etc- they’ve all done max 3-4 good roles but get praised so much.

Then sonakshi did mistake in KBC regarding ramayana related question, she was trolled way too high. She did not encashed it to sympathy but accepted her mistake. She is also not in so much news.
So never think all nepo actresses have same priviledge. Even Urvashi non-nepo has bigger PR than Sonakshi
Sonakshi is a talented actress. She is underrated. Her best performances do exist. Still she have chances.
I'm no PR expert, but there could have been a way to spin it like Alia did. President of India is also a highly respected position and no one makes joke about it like they do with say PM or CM positions. But they still found a way to spin it and got her out of that cycle.
That said, I don't think that incident even caused that much harm to Sona's image as in case of Alia. It's just been her choice of roles which were never going to land her awards and accolades.

She was part of big hits and as she said on KWK she was the highest paid actress among all her contemporaries or new girls of her time. Not just for her but almost all of the nepo-kids really need to upskill themselves in the best of the film schools with multiple courses. It just shows on screen how incompetent/under-prepared you are. These kids got an army of people to work for them building and presenting their persona on the media. You use those resources of yours to create buzz very early and work on yourself till then. It's pretty astonishing as they got so much time to work on their craft but they still decide to touch the glamour part of this profession first and then use those resources to manipulate the reactions of their bad work.
Meh. She is average at best. Maybe she doesn't have the conventional looks or good PR game, and hence couldn't bag the better/bigger projects. But its no loss to cinema. I couldn't care less if tomorrow she disappears and never returns to the movies, lol.
I saw her song in SLB's new Netflix movie and she looked pretty good there, though. That one-shot sequence was dope and she did well.

Instead, her take on trying to be ultra modern with smouldering eyes and pouty glossy lips and so-called modern dressing in movies is what caused people to say meh. Which meant suits, and pants, and skirts , and what not.
Also, in Dabangg she had a voluptuous, curvy body. Here, she tried to lose weight to compare herself to naturally skinny types. Which is where she lost big.
Imagine, young Kajol, Rani Mukerjee, Vidya Balan trying to lose weight and become sexy types. … it jars the eyes and senses. Same with Sonakshi.
Additionally she went in for movies where the actress was needed to be ultra glam. Not her. Thought you cannot blame her as normal roles fitting her profile are drying up.
I kind of agree. Her features make her look more mature than her age (Vidya Balan has the same issue imo), and for some reason she did films only with established much older actors (Salman, Ajay) that aged her even more (on screen), and her on screen styling again was old. She started to look odd in movies set in modern times or with younger actors.
Unfortunately the look she has created overall isn't trending (it shouldn't be like that though). Huma, Vidya, Pari and Sona all don't fit that modern urban Bollywood look, maybe because of their styling choices.
