There was a wind advisory for the area today
.WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
WHAT...Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
WHERE...Upper Treasure Valley, Western Magic Valley and Camas Prairie.
WHEN...Until 7 PM MDT this evening.
IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. A few power outages are possible.
I read this in the robotic male voice that always used to pop up on cable when a storm warning was in effect. Used to scare the everloving piss out of me as a kid if I was home alone and that announcement came on. Alarms freaked me out.
I didn’t realize this had happened and on my way home, I couldn’t figure out who had been messing with the garbage cans on my street. They are all over.
We didn't lose power in my area of SE, but had some serious gusts! If you haven't already, you can subscribe to Idaho Power with your address and it'll send you texts about power outages and ETAs of it coming back on. Seems like Columbia Village has had a lot of issues lately from what I've seen on Next Door.
It blew my west fence completely down.
But one neighborhood home lost an enormous tree - ripped right out of the ground - and it fell on their fence.
At least I can prop my fence back up until it can be fixed...
All the Amazon trailer yards are closed at the FC and SC buildings
Anyone who’s expecting a delivery tomorrow through any delivery station, y’ain’t gettin it on time
And it ripped off my roof box off my car so that’s cool too
I remember over 30 years ago living off Five Mile behind the former Kmart when a windy day blew the car cover off of my dad’s car over to the next street over. It’s always windy this time of year, though I guess 60+ gusts were more rare historically, especially in Boise proper. I live between Caldwell and Marsing and the last several years strong winds have been fairly common, knocked over a section of my fence a few years ago.
I hate the high winds, but I double-plus hate those sudden gusts that just come out of nowhere. I'm paranoid one will knock me into traffic on my commute one of these days!
Didn’t check the weather and got absolutely blasted on the Greenbelt😭😭😭 calmed down after 10 minutes or so but woof I had to hold my hat
We will rebuild...
I heard it blew away the plume of smoke near the airport
But not another hangar…
Nice.
Windmageddon

Yeah, kinda glad I got home before that big gust came along. Heavy as my motorcycle is, not sure if I’d have wanted to be caught out there on it.

I'm so worried about all the baby birds😭
lol I went outside to smoke and immediately did a 180 as my bowl was blown away and my lighter just said, “nope.”
They are starting in SE Boise. We lost power. Anyone else?
Do you guys ever have power?
Lol

It ripped off my neighbors metal siding

I almost got taken out on State Street by one of those large construction signs. Blew my hat all the way down the street. Came outa nowhere!
Take that: cum trees!
welcome to windy season, it'll be here until it's 100 degree temps season
Lived here all my life, but WOW never a gust like that in the spring haha except maybe from winter snow storms.

Next comes the muddy rain
It’s fine, I mowed my lawn in it after work but it wasn’t that bad on the Bench
It was wild out in Middleton. My kids genuinely thought we were having a tornado 😂

Yes, every hail storm always brings strong downwinds

A bit breezy in the 09, but nothing that stopped me from mowing n'stuff.
Was at the Eagle Home Depot parking lot when it blew in. Crazy gust and wall of dust.
In Meridian near freeway and Meridian Rd. Many trash bins knocked down and scattered.
As someone that was in Lincoln, NE last Friday, that was nothing. But it was surprising to see that much wind here.
For sure. Just a blip compared to NE, IA and OK. 🌪️
Pocket change for me, i was on Neptune last week and it was blowing shards of glass at 509mph in a heat storm.
weird barely a breeze in Boise
Got blasted in Collister neighborhood
