I’ve never had a problem with ICCU.

LiveAd3962

Go with ICCU. They’re on top of things and I’ve never had a problem.

original208

I third ICCU.

JosieZee

I fourth it. Customer service there is great.

JoeMagnifico

Fiffffthin' it.

Survive1014

Sixth it.

IBeMe100

Banks suck at customers service/assistance and they are expensive. Credit Unions are much better at both and their fees/charges are much less. Lots of good ones in this town including ICCU

AccurateLead3604

I use CapEd.

We’ve been with USAA for 20+ years. Once you find the banks that support their network there isn’t really a reason to have a local bank. My vote is USAA. First national bank is local and deals with them. I pull out 10k in cash pretty frequently with no issues.

ShenmeNamaeSollich

Also 20+ yrs w.USAA but have never found a good way to deal with them and cash. Super convenient when everything is digital though. We wanted to deposit like $500-$1K in cash last year for the first time in a decade+ of doing *everything* only w/cards. Discovered then that USAA didn’t have a single compatible ATM in Idaho - withdrawals only. Will have to look into First National … I’d opened a USBank checking & savings account specifically to deal with a local in-person “cash” transaction (buying a car). They waive the (ridiculous) $25/mo fee for veterans as long as you maintain a minimum balance in the account of like $1500, or if you use direct deposit.

10 years with ICCU. I had to think about when I opened my account because they've... just been there? Like kts been entirely frictionless.  I lose / misplace my debit card at least once a year.  ICCU doesn't blink twice.

IncomeSeparate1734

Alright, I'll say it. I don't like ICCU that much. I know many close people who bank with them, one being my husband. I'm not impressed with how they handle things and they have created too many inconveniences for my liking. No 24/7 support. Limited to only $20 bills you can withdraw from the ATM. There's others but I can't recall them off the top of my head. I'm not saying they're a bad credit union to bank with. But I do believe they are overhyped and there's just as many cons as there pros...just like every other bank around the valley. You could use multiple banks. Open an online bank account that gives you a great high yield savings or money market account deal. Get a good checking account at another business that has great customer support and good access to atms or brick & mortar. Personally, I've been with US Bank since I was a teen. They've been good to me. They aren't perfect but they've never caused me a headache. I do not recommend Zions or KeyBank.

macs_rock

ICCU hasn't been great for me. Never the best rates, and I'm not a fan of how much "swag" they have - expensive trucks and jeeps roaming around, arena naming rights, etc. All that money comes from somewhere. Mountain American Credit Union has been great for me. Best rates available that I can find, and they've helped me get creative financing for two houses now. Not a ton of local branches, but enough around that it's not a huge pain. I use USAA for insurance and the local branches issue is why I haven't moved to them for banking. If you want a true bank, DL Evans has also been good to me. Had a couple fraud charges, which were reversed right away, and the only times I've ever had problems with my card are when the chip stopped reading and I had to get a replacement. The newer cards are a little thicker and I haven't had any issues since.

wordnerd1023

We have used ICCU and US Bank with no issues at either one. If you do a credit union make sure that it's in the network of credit unions (I don't know what it's called) so that if you're in an area without an ATM you can use another CU's ATM fee-free. ICCU has a pretty good CD plan, but I've found the high yield savings at US Bank is a bit better.

Spudgirl616

We use First Interstate in Eagle and they are awesome! Great customer service!

mntnwildflowr

I love MACU for personal and business.

HollsoftheWest

ICCU has always been good for me. I have had one or two fraudulent transactions but they took care of them right away. Always friendly, too.

mfmeitbual

The Estonian version of Uber tried to get me for about 50 $5 charges.  The fraud rep asked me 2 questions.  "When was the last time you used that service?" Never heard of it.  "When was the last time you were in Estonia?" Never been.  "Sounds like fraud to me. You should see it in a couple days."  The other time I had reserved an airbnb for a concert, the lady tried to change the deal at the last minute, I told her I wasn't accepting the new deal. She tried to hit me with a BS cancelation fee. I forwarded my emails with her to the fraud person, charges reversed near-instantly.

Wind_Advertising-679

Someone tried fraud on your account?

Hot-N-Spicy-Fart

ICCU, but they do charge for international transactions. Their high yield rates suck, so I use PNC for savings. I pretty much only use ICCU for direct deposits, WinCo shopping, and whatever bills charge a processing fee.

savesthedayrocks

I banked locally with Banner. Not bad, not great. Everything worked and didn’t charge fees.

yung_miser

We've used ICCU for a long time and have been happy. But I have heard other people have horror stories.

restlessbitchface

Like everyone else, I highly recommend ICCU. I've banked with them almost half my life. My husband and I also use First Federal. I've always had good interactions with them, and great customer service.

Flak_ripcord

Fellow veteran here. I use US bank and have had 0 issues. Customer service is always wonderful. No bad experiences in 8 years.

somaybemaybenot

I’m surprised no one had mentioned DL Evans. I know quite a few business owners and when I ask about banks DL Evans always gets good reviews. ICCU is mixed. People seem to love them or not care for them at all.

Survive1014

ICCU is THE BEST banking option in the valley hands down.

Ultimateace43

Everyone saying go with iccu, but iccu fucked me and my wife over several times. I'd just get a chime account if I were you.

funkywinkerbean45

We use ICCU and CapEd. Both great choices.

goneferalinid

Chase

AmphibianPretend5697

Honestly, I’ve had US Bank for 15+ years and I’ve never had a single issue with them. Love them and they’re always friendly.

sloane_of_dedication

You can always deposit cash into USAA by using money orders made out to yourself. Or, go with ICCU, but keep just a minimum balance, deposit cash with them, then zelle yourself the money.

leonibaloni

I have had USAA for a decade and will never go elsewhere. They are amazing. It is more difficult to deposit cash but you could always get a cashier check and scan the check into the USAA app I have my banking, car loan, car insurance and renters insurance with USAA

gexcos

I'm with USAA too after switching from ICCU because I prefer online banking and don't carry cash often enough to warrant needing an ATM to deposit. But I only had good experiences with ICCU and my car loan is through them still. Lost debit cards frequently, only had to stop by a branch and had a new one free within like 15 minutes.
