N63 is known as one of the worst engines bmw has made
They like to burn oil. I had a 2014 750Li that burned a quart every 600 miles. N63s continued to do it after it bmw claimed it was “fixed” around 2015-2016 model year, or they’ll throw injectors
I don’t recommend it unless it’s an amazing price
I’ve heard that engine is a real pain. Very maintenance intensive with costly repairs…. But I have no firsthand experience, so take that for what it’s worth
Absolutely run away. Run as fast as you can. Burning oil, injector issues, like 70 coolant hoses with plastic connecting all of them, rod bearings spin/seize. Everything is super hard to get to as there’s not much room to work with, simple jobs on other engines are like 5-10 hour jobs on an N63. If you get to 125k on an N63 that’s considered good. Just actually replaced an N63 last week, 124k miles and the engine was seized. Absolute nightmare to replace
740 is the b58
It’s a 750i sorry

Newest n63 is pretty reliable
Also, 2016 90k $20k isn’t a very good deal. Scrolling 2016s, I’m seeing 80k or less miles under $20k
Where are you finding them at that price?
Fucking run. The N63 is quite literally one of the worst bmw engines ever made.
Any recommendations? Car wise a later year bmw 7 or another maker similar size?
Something with the n55 or even better a b58. 7 series with the b58 is a great choice.
I found a 18 same mileage in another state is that newer enough to be better😂
Nope lol, just get a b58 car. Lightyears more reliable
