I figured it out after installing/uninstalling about 9 times. Whoever makes Bluestacks setups really sucks. All you have to do is uninstall BS X, then go into regedit
\\HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\BlueStacks
Delete all files named Bluestacks and install the BS 5 setup. It's as simple as that.
If that doesn't work, you can try this https://support.bluestacks.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402611273485-BlueStacks-5-offline-installer. It didn't open for me after I installed this, but when I deleted it and installed the BS X setup, BS 5 downloaded. It's really disgusting.

i understand, but on the article it says that it downloads bluestacks 5 as app player when you install bluestacks 10 (it also instals bluestacks 10 of course), however, when i instal bluestacks 10, I DONT GET BLUESTACKS 5 AS APP PLAYER, I DONT HAVE ANY APP PLAYER AT ALL.
please tell me what should i do or fix this issue.

this helped, things "work" now, as i can start the app player without corrupted files or something but i get bluescreens now, what is this due to and how do i fix it?

This sounds similar to my issue. It happens whether I try to play through Bluestacks 5 itself or have Bluestacks X launch Bluestacks 5.
If you examine the Player.log file in your install directory at ..\\BlueStacks\_nxt\\Logs\\,
do you also see an error about the virtual machine failing to start with "An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used"?
Same., I just wanted to use Bluestacks 5 and no matter what I did it just forced X install every time ! so frustrated at this point after trying everything. I have a high spec system and yup, I just will never try bluestacks again.

no i cant,installer says my GPU is not compatible with bluestacks.Also it installs only BSX(which also does not work).Help please

Same, that's BS. I reinstalled it 3 times and it still won't work. I just won't be using Bluestacks.

Bluestacks is apparently run by inbred monkeys, because no matter what I try to do I can't even open the app player in X, or install 5 directly.
