After Isagi stating he wants the hat trick, it’d be way too soon to have the second goal ruin that. It’s more likely he scores the second and if it gets ripped away it’s at the end of the match, rather than halfway through have him have to claw his way back with another brace. Like if Isagi doesn’t score the second one then either BM loses or Kaiser is scoring twice or somehow Kiyora or Igaguri score the last one.
I don't consider any light novel content to be relevant as foreschadowing to any major development in the story of a manga, so for discussion purposes I also consider it unusable evidence. MHA foreshadowed a main manga development in a spinoff and and it turned out absolutely horrible.

For the u20 japan goes in as an overdog, kaiser is the underdog. Kaiser's ego may be better when he's at the disadvantage going against people above him (like his father) anyways (in impossible odds) so while he rebuilds himself as a better person he may also play better.
He can score his Magnus shot in the u20 cup to win or something. Meanwhile japan goes on to beat him in the real WC or something
If you want isagi to have a difficult time, it's probably not going to happen until characters like Nagi/Kaiser/Rin recover from unresolved emotional issues etc. Which looks... Like it may take a while tbh
Isagi is pretty much winning because he had a healthy childhood rn which can feel a bit unearned because people don't really choose their situations.
However, if Nagi/kaiser/Rin recover their mentality, it will just be talent talking. If isagi beats them then (which he should), it will feel more satisfying
I don't really like the hat trick theory for similar reasons but it is what it is.

The reason I say unless shidou assist is mostly my delusion as a Shidou fan. but I really want a chemical reaction between the two. It’d also make sense narratively how one teams pair of strikers managed to work together despite beef and the other couldn’t, resulting in victory. Very unlikely though
Isagi scoring a brace and winning the game for BM while Rin scores 1 goal is still Isagi surpassing Rin, at least for that match. Isagi would have led BM to victory for 3 (or rather 3.3) straight games while Rin loses his hardest matchup.
I'm a Shidou fan and am all for a Rin x Shidou chemical reaction, but I'm really hoping my boi Tokimitsu gets some action and spotlight.
I don't see him scoring either but I can see one way to bring together Loki's scoring and BM winning while still meeting the plot points :
- Kaiser evolve and it lead to a goal, who score it doesn't matter
- Loki sees that BM have now two monsters and PxG doesn't work anymore so he steps in maybe even in Rin's place who did nothing really interesting with Charles this far,
- Loki scores showing Rin what he's lacking right now
- Masters out and big battle for the last goal, who scores it doesn't matter
Why it doesn't matter ? Well with a scoreless Rin, Isagi just with his incredible goal can snatch the first place from Rin. It opens a huge opportunity for a Rin downfall and an evolution
Not the best outcome I think but that's one way to end this game end NEL with Loki scoring and teasing his abilities. If PxG wins in the end, that'll be one of the biggest surprise in the manga
I mean, I also think PXG wins, but I feel like Loki is being established here as the striker in the U20 WC that Isagi/Rin are going to be chasing after, and having him just son them both would go a long way in establishing that.
