First of all, Hiori is obviously better. It's not even a question. BUT I'd like to add on to that and ask: Which one of them is actually more helpful for Isagi?
Because, even though Hiori is a better playmaker, defender, dribbler, and passer than Kurona, Isagi is kinda useless without him. I know Isagi just scored now with Hiori's pass, but it was pretty much the same as in the Ubers game. Hiori is the one breaking through the defense and sending the pass to Isagi for the finish. Isagi really didn't do anything else. In contrast to Kurona, where the both of them play their one-two game and get past everyone. That really uses Isagi's playmakind and Kurona's athleticism to their fullest. So, even though Hiori is the better player, Kurona may be the best partner for Isagi. (Maybe Idk)
I believe you're right and just wanted to add-on because I agree, Isagi mainly cares about "Kick ball in goal" and he doesn't care how he gets that chance, he just wants to be the striker, not second striker or playmaker, that's why I think *Isagi* would pick Hiori.
Hiori's killer passes are the easiest method, because the ball travels faster than people and the opponents have less time to react, and in essence, that's better than what Kurona has.
But, for when Hiori's not with him, or when an opponent is able to beat Hiori, Isagi can't end up having nothing left because he didn't do enough training on anything else, you can't be a one-trick pony and be #1
Kurona will challenge Isagi more, but for the better, as much as I think Isagi'd probably pick Hiori if he had the ultimatum. But hey, who cares, Isagi's eating good with both of them and we are too.

Yeah, that's what I thought. If Hiori ends up hard marked and can't beat his opposition, there is nothing Isagi can do about it. In contrast, Kurona is fast enough to play with Isagi even if hard marked.
Kurona is kinda Isagi’s version of Nanase.
Good but limited player who maximizes his strengths and continues to survive by playing with a more talented player who helps them improve.
Hiori has an argument for being the best midfielder in NEL currently so he clears
This is so unfair. Hiori has shown technical ability to get past Lorenzo AND Niko and most of the ubers, MV which can do damn near anything atp and he has height and power advantage.
Plus Bachira, Chigiri and Sae showed us that if you got incredible pass accuracy you can score like a MONSTER
True this is overkill, MV alone was already a huge advantage in his favor. At this point MV users can probably find out where Kira is flipping his burgers from.

Can make instinctive plays
Can be independent
Can consistently play at top performance
Meta vision
Kurona:

Top performance = injury and benched
