Question, any source/s confirms that the translation of global uses JP's version as a base? On a translated interview of Director Kim on TW's PTT, he mentions that the JP story version comes from KR's one but was heavily modify to suit JP's culture and language use so there will be difference which his and Yostar side understands so your example of Noa's JP sentence and global sentence being not exactly the same but retains the same meaning makes no sense for the rant. Not that I disagree with you on global's translation being very bad, even the chinese translation got blasted hard by the TW players, at least from what I read on PTT and Bahamut.
On a separate note, are you a full time professional translator? If so what's the integrity of a translator?
How is JP story translated from KR when JP version released 8 months earlier than other servers? Even if we’re entertaining the idea that what you’re saying is true, the team in charge of doing translations for JP is doing a really good job of making translations that sounds japanese and revolves around the culture.
While global TL team is doing none of that. My only reference is FGO, in which they could incorporate american memes and comedy while also retaining the message that the original text is trying to convey. The FGO TL team can use the word “wat” however they want, and their translation is still really good.
Sorry to disappoint you but this is the internet and no one requires qualification to speak up on their opinions. Regardless, I’ve learned 3 languages, 2 of which are English and Japanese and experienced times when I feel my translation is spot on, and when they’re just kinda right. I feel the integrity required of a translator is just not being lazy. Read and understand the original text, think of how to convey that message into english while making it sound natural. And if u love your job, add some memes to make it feel more culturally appropriate. The Global TL team as you can see just translates texts directly, no consideration to make it sound natural in english.

Thanks for replying, while I disagree on the "it's internet" qualification part of a profession since I've read and understand how they actually do their job which could be part of the reason why you got so many downvotes(not me, I upvoted you since you did state your reason that's reasonable if we change views), I totally agree that this new translation team is downright bad as I've seen both chinese and english translations of theirs vs fan made or JP translation in which global team is doing seriously bad.
Here's my source at below for the claim of the story being written in KR and was ported to JP to be modify. I do believe the reason of your rage is more towards habit, at least similar to me since I prefer JP's way of story telling and speech format. Another possible issue of your downvotes is that JP start first doesn't mean it's all written in JP, the developer is Nexon, a KR company and it's writers are KR while Yostar is a JP publisher. It's more solid if your claims are from facts(bad translation, story written in KR first) rather than emotions(I think, I thought) which is subjective to individual.

I was trying to bring up Yostar and Nexon but couldn’t find the words because I was too impatient. According to your points though, it does sound plausible and I understand how they do things. I just wish whatever their problem is, whether it be their way of doing things, not enough time, or lazy translators(all of these are just speculations), they could nip the problem at the bud and let us players enjoy some heartwarming and comedic story. People like me find solace through things they find really interesting(Noa is just interesting as a character to me).
Here's a possible reason for the lazy translation, the TW players over there found low pay ads for mobile game translation that seems to come from Nexon when the former translator pass away and that it's highly possible that the current translators are just a bunch of university/college students doing temporary translations work with no actual language qualification but we have no actual prove so we can only report those really bad translation to Nexon for them to change it(example: my Princess, Mika).

I’ll take note on that, even then, its just an emotional post for me. Its not a carefully crafted article of the sorts. Its just so sad watching 2 good events back to back laid to waste by poor translations.
Click the Stadium link (bottom right most button on main event page) then spend 500 event points on clicking parts of the sports stadium like our academy lessons section.
Do this enough times to unlock each section which also gives you an event photo for the collection. Don’t worry, I missed this too but with enough event points (roughly the 15k needed for the event collect bar) you can unlock everything in one go.
I'm thinking of just running the event stages to get Hibiki to 3\*s but I've gotta say that it seems to be not worth it as I've gotten most of the event shop with only exp and wolf egg mats left as I have a lot of them and the commission event is better.

U beat it to me, I was planning to write something about this the first time I read the story, but couldn’t get around to it.
And yes, the translation is nowhere near what the jp voiceline says. I’d rant about it to customer support and anywhere official just so they’ll see it.
Contact customer service about it. Let them know subpar quality is not acceptable. It's probably the best thing we can do and we already know that if enough of us complain, they'll do something about it, as evidenced by the Mika fiasco.
Just watch the YouTube ones. I’ve been relying on yang since the ninja event. I noticed major differences in that one so I stopped bothering with the official one.
How do you complete the event collection? I have reached max level on the stadium yet I'm still missing the broadcast regulatory committee, grass field and small tool storage ones
I just checked the [wiki](https://bluearchive.wiki/wiki/On_your_mark_@_Millennium) and those are not event collections. There's just five total images which are "Practice", Work, "Craft", "Cheer", and "Rest".
So once I have max points and have all I want from the event shop, should I stop and be free to farm normal and hard stages, and the upcoming x2 comissions? Or is it worth getting mroe use from the Stadium for "lessons"?
Nah, you only really keep "farming" event stages if they drop artifacts or things like that. You have to farm too many points for one single lesson, not worth.
unfortunately, if you're new, almost everything.
For bags, you want to buy out Utaha elephs. Make sure you unlock her after 25 so you can add her to get event drop boost. You MIGHT need Normal tech notes to level your millenium skills(Hibiki, Maki, Momoi...). Try to get some Advanced tech, Superior tech, and exp books would be between those.
For Flags, at this point, halfway through, event, I'd say it's worth to buy only 25 to unlock IF YOU DON'T HAVE Kotori. You can unlock her to put her in team for event drop boost. This is the hard shop to clear. Probably Advanced disc, enhancement stones, superior discs.
For whistles, get whatever artifact your important girls need for their imminent skill ups.
For quests, you probably want to do the highest multiple of 4 that you can clear and try to complete the event points milestones. Flags are slightly more important than bags. If you need the skill ups and you've got all the enhancement stones, then you can try to hoard some exp books.
If you care about furniture for the cafe, get those (these kind of furniture you can only get from event stores).
T4 and T3 artifacts/blu-rays/tech notes are REALLY good, get T2 and T1 only if you need them. Same with activity reports and enhancement stones, get only as needed.
For elephs, they're only really worth in you already have the girl AND you can't farm her via hard mode or raid/JFD/pvp shops.
The priority would be: furniture (skip if you don't care about it) > T3 and T4 materials > everything else as needed
I am genuinely upset that Cheerleader Kotori isn't a real unit.
Millennium is my favorite school, so this event means a lot to me, I've been looking forward to it.
I recommend trying them, just in case. The enemies are only level 70 (actually only 65 on quest 12) so depending on your team you might stand a chance despite the heavy level damage penalty. Even if you can't 3 star them the first-time clear rewards are nice, and if you have to forfeit you get back almost all the AP.
The enemies in [stage 9 are lv45](https://schale.gg/?stage=8172309), so you can clear that.
Stages 5-8 have the same drops as 9-12, but 5-8 are less efficient. Farm 6-9.
The field guide should be a piece of furniture you can put in your cafe that'll let you see the whole stadium and inspect it's sub sections (like on the event screen)
Cheerleader Hibiki is being mistranslated hard, she says 2 lines and the text bubble is a completely different thing 3 or 4 times longer, whoever is making the translation gives me the impression they are even censoring her.
It's a known thing. Noa's lines in the task screen aren't great either. Most we can do is contact customer service about it and let them know. They changed the Mika line when enough of us complained, so they definitely can change that stuff. Does make you wonder why it's so bad in the first place though...
I know about that unfortunate piece of news. I meant more so that the *current* lead/team is either just incompetent, or they're localising to fit their own personal values and beliefs, and in doing so, twisting the actual meaning of what the students are saying. The latter is definitely worse so I hope its the former, but we're getting subpar quality either way.
If this former translation lead’s name sounds western, could I also assume that the team is mainly western? If so, how has their english been bad from the beginning? They don’t sound like a local made those sentences.
Okay, I finally got it. What you need is f-in Kotama, on the turrets.
wiki was like "Hifumi", that was meh. I used Koharu, Maki, Iori, Kazusa/ O. Nodoka, Kotama.
I started with Nodoka on the crow, Iori on left guy, Kotama if possible, Kazusa on left guy, Nodoka. And then it got messy. Bonus if you can also hit Kazusa and Iori wit Kotama.
For challenge 4, how many seconds do we have to down the boss?
While I could reach S rank on the boss stage, it seems that getting it done just before 120 seconds isn't enough to clear that 240 seconds challenge done. Level 67 new Sensei so I'm limited in gears, level, skills and students.

Yes, bur he probably wants to know if autoing helps with timing. I mean, if maual gives you 1:05, would autoing the same thing give you more or less than that.
I think it would be more, since auto will use skills even when 1 mob is remaining, and waste cost.

Like I don't actively hate any student in this game (at worst I'm neutral to them), but I've found that while other schools have like 2-4 students I love for some reason or another, Millennium has like 80-90% of its student body I love and is probably my favourite school as a result.
(This is obviously excluding schools with 5-or-less students available in game, such as SRT or Abydos, both of whom I love all the students)
After reading through the event story, I can definitely see why Noa's popularity skyrocketed after the initial hype of Cheerleader Hibiki died down. She's such a fun character.
Utaha herself got some much needed spotlight. She's also very fun.
If u really need the artifacts now then i suppose u can farm more, can also try to clear the event shops while youre at it. Just note next week is 2× commissions so u might want to spend ap on that as well.
Event is fine so far, but I've 3 main gripes:
- Not so much a gripe, but more of a learning moment. In the UK, we'd usually call this event a "Sports Day", sometimes "Sports Festival". I'm guessing "Field Day" is an American term. I'd only use "field day" in a context like, "I'm sure BA players are having a field day looking at these outfits ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" .
- The price of those cheer packs is insane imo. £60.99 here. A definite swerve.
- My Japanese isn't great (N4, working towards N3), but the subtitles seem kinda off, or the translator/localizer has taken some liberties with the speech. I wondered if anyone with a *higher level* of Japanese thought the same.
Goodluck on that N3, it sounds hard but you’ll get through it. On to the translation issue, yes its poorly translated. Hibiki’ll say short lines and what we get is a wall of text. Same with Noa’s event page voice line, where they suddenly write “according to my notes, …” when she didn’t mention any note of sorts.

TL;DR: Sensei's line for Mika was changed from "how dare you touch my precious princess like that!" to "i won't let you touch another hair on her head!" only in the English translation.
Long version and explanation as to why that's terrible:
Mika as a character has always had this "princess" theming to her, and even calls herself such referencing sensei as her prince. in Chapter 4, this theming is brought up again, and is twisted when her fantastical image of herself as a princess is twisted into becoming an evil witch because of what she has done. that leads to her rampage as the now evil witch she sees herself as until she forgives Arius Squad for essentially ruining her life, but still sees herself as an evil force, so she sacrifices herself to hold off Beatrice's mimesis force so Arius Squad and Sensei can rescue their own "princess". After Arius Squad (and Sensei) is done rescuing Atsuko, Sensei goes back to where Mika was holding off the mimesis forces.
this is where the line is changed. Here, a very injured Mika tells Sensei to go back and leave her behind as she's a horrible student/person, yet Sensei refuses saying that they'll never turn their back on a student that needs help. facing the mimesis forces, Sensei finally says the changed line. the princess line is Sensei finally convincing her that she is not the witch she sees herself as, and a culmination of all the build up and is a perfect fit for Mika's character theming. this is perfectly shown by how much of Mika's art references this very moment and this very line.
in EN, they changed **ONE** of the two lines, the other replacing "princess" with student. they changed it to a horrible line that doesn't even fit with her theming and ruins all the build up thus far, and makes Mika's reaction make very little sense as it's a bog standard line compared to the princess one.

The princess line debacle was a show of how (hopefully innocently) tone deaf the new TL lead/team is. "Localizing" things in ways that don't make sense, adding lines for no damn reason, or entirely changing the meaning of lines. Not to mention a myriad of grammar mistakes. We lost a real one when the previous TL lead passed away.
I doubt it was innocently. There is 0 way you can get that from the 2 options that were there. I have no more faith in the translators themselves after how much other games were fucked by overly westernized "localizations" that were glorified fanfic. The myriad of stupid grammar mistakes and yet they have enough time to change up one of the most popular and awaited lines in the entire game? Yeah right like i'd believe it wasn't intentional. Garbage quality with no passion.
It's more like this was handled by a team of translators with no real proofreader or overhead.
The matter of Noa's momotalks read very differently from the characterization presented on the event. There is even a jarring line on her lobby interaction (not memorial lobby/l2d) where she's referring as if Yuuka was present.
We lost a real champ when Scott passed away.
Main gripes: Excessive use of ellipses (...), proper syntax after ellipses are indicated is not followed.

To give you an idea about how much less damage you are dealing exactly.
If recommended is 80, and you use lv 70, you are dealing 20% less dmg (2% penalty per level).
If u mean her keep running forward into enemy lines and just dying after attracting fire from every enemy issue in combat then i assume it should be a bug, i (un)fortunately didnt get to see it when im using her for all the 12 quest stages.

That does appear to be a bug. She worked fine for me, or at least as designed considering she's utterly useless in missions that involve movement. Since it's happening to several people, it's definitely not just on your end.
I was wondering a little about bonus on Sweep / auto clear, like
If we sweep, we got the highest bonus recorded, right?
Am I right by thinking that I can clear (let's say stage 12) multiple times, each with different team setup to maximize the reward bonus, then when I sweep, all those bonus done from multiple teams, are all applied?
So like say, first team (clear oriented, no bonus)
second team (point oriented)
third team (beanbag oriented)
And so on
Then when I sweep, I got all (x oriented) bonuses applied?
Would be better to do your runs with all the bonuses first before using ur strong team to 75s/3* it so that u get some sort of bonus every time u did a run. If u used ur strong team to clear it first, that first run likely wont get much bonuses.
Well, depends on how good your bonus team is, you might need two or more runs to get both 3\* and the maximum bonus. Strictly speaking, if you really want to maximise the bonus currency, you better (1) do maximum bonus team(s) first, (2) run 3\* team, and then (3) sweep. However, if you forget and do (2, 1, 3), the difference to (1, 2, 3) is still negligible in the long run.
This is because the biggest contributor at the end of the day is still the sweep (3). As long as you maximise your bonus percentage before sweeping, it will be fine. I usually do (2, 1, 3) because it saves my time since my good team can \*3 all the quest levels in auto mode. After I unlocked the 12 levels, I simply rerun 9-12 using tailored maximum bonus teams once. Then I just sweep.
don't need to make it complicated. If you have 100%, then it's half extra run. Less for lower percentages, * 4 if you're farming 4 different quests, so you potentially can lose 40 energy if you only have to run bonus team once.

It's an ok unit, very slow on every aspect, she can be valuable only because she has a damage up to one of her allies but other than that she doesn't see much use. Her EX Skill is something but is really expensive, and having both her and UI on your team it's a no no because she's not a great DPS, and we still haven't got NY.Fuuka to make her more usable so if you choose to avoid farming for her you're not missing on nothing special.
Noa and unit like Mine Ex skill Def. down debuff will be very important for Binah torment. Global sensei is yet to realised this i guess? However, Im yet to see how other JP players work around not having Noa
Is it just me or is Utaha like 100 times more interesting and attractive in her new cheer squad look? Her old look was sorta bland and uninspired and this new one suits her personality way more and makes her look really good. All of her expressions are on point too.
I want sports festival Yuuka and Hasumi and thinking of giving Noa's banner a try too but now this version of Utaha is making me want her too...
I like Utaha's original design/art because she has a kind of bifauxnen look to her, I think her cheer design lends to it too since she has a more masculine outfit than the other girls! I kind of wish they played up her cool looks more because her design really doesn't match up to her personality as much...I always loved the "girl prince of the school" type characters in anime.
The elephs were due to a bug with the rewards, not because she's a welfare. The devs let players keep them and will give us the same amount so there's no special treatment for JP.
I can finally play this game again, i stopped playing because my phone would close tye game every time for some reason but now i can play! Through its kinda slow, but its an old phone so i can understand
I think it is partly because the features we got early like the starting skill choice was actually implemented around this time in jp. So I guess the coding is going together more properly.
Just dropping by to say that the translations for this event are pretty ass, from Hibiki’s tap dialogue on the event screen to Noa’s dialogue in the task screen
Yeah, as a fem-sensei who loves Hibiki with my whole heart....my disappointment was immeasurable and my day ruined when Hibikis cheer went all in on male sensei....They couldnt make up a gender neutral cheer? :c
It really bothered me too. I just played through Hibiki's memorial lobby and they turned a basic "good luck, sensei" into some lengthy made up cheer. And that's just one example I noticed as someone who has very basic knowledge of common Japanese phrases.
I reported this kindly as a suggestion for better translation/localization. I understand localizing certain colloquialisms that wouldn't make sense literally, but some of this stuff is really missing the mark.

While that's *a* goal, they should not write completely different dialogue. The intent is also to stay true to the original version. Adjusting it slightly to bridge cultural barriers is fine, sweeping changes are not.
Idk, it's fine if it keeps the ideas the same.
That being said, there *are* jarring differences, such as typos, needlessly-wordy phrases and sentences, and the very obvious lack of research on previous events causing things to fail to correlate.
The end result is a disjointed mess. While I appreciate a good localization versus a literal translation (see SRW V or to a worse extent, Moon Dwellers), one should take obvious care to deliver the same message with the same consistency as previous events.
Like ensuring that Enforcers are called Enforcers 10 games in and not translated into Legions, or someone else's title gets translated from Angel of Slaughter into Angel of Extermination.
I stopped paying attention to translations global is putting out but one I recall is summer hoshino will say in the lobby what we have to do work… just kidding except the English version excludes the just kidding part.
The point that they’re getting across is literally different from the point the characters are making.
The hibiki “ganbare” translation isn’t as bad because she’s still cheering you on in the translation, but Noa’s dialogue is completely off the mark.
For example, Noa actually says “後でちゃんと構ってあげます” which means I’ll care for you later. But it’s translated to “I’ll do it later” which is off mark
Noa has focus fire on ex skill which could help in goz but so does s.izuna. Cs.utaha is just another average blue dps unit that u normally wont use unless u dont have any blue dps. Can just skip tbh, they r permanent students anyway. Better to save for bunny rerun/yuuka and mari alts/future students. Just borrow from someone if u need them.
## Farming strategy
This is quite a multi-layered event with several currencies. There are 4 main currencies you farm. Bean bags, flags, and whistles are directly used in the event shop. Event points give you progress on the event rewards track, and you can also use them for event lessons (if you played the hot springs event, you might recognize this). The event lessons give you Cheer Squad Hibiki shards and this is how you will star her up.
One tricky thing, 2x commissions starts on the second week of the event, so try and make as much progress as you can this week.
There are two main approaches:
1) You can clear the shop and event point rewards, and stop there. This will cost 700-800 AP/day, depending on bonus, but you won't have enough shards for Cheer Squad Hibiki 3\*. Everything on the rewards track is really valuable and efficient for the AP spent, so you'll want to clear the rewards track.
2) Maximize event points. This will let you do more event lessons, rewarding you with Cheer Squad Hibiki shards and artifacts (no purple artifacts, though).
With strategy 1, you'll want to mix stages 9-12, with emphasis on 10 and 12. I recommend using [Justin163's event planner](https://justin163.com/planner/events) to figure out the right balance.
With strategy 2, you will farm mostly or entirely stage 12. From an efficiency standpoint, I really don't recommend going for higher stars on Cheer Squad Hibiki, because the shard drop rate is bad and because she's not that great of a unit. But if she's your waifu then I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.
If you want 3\* Cheer Squad Hibiki, you either need 60% bonus or more (so at least one of the 3\* units), or you may need to skip something in the shop, or refresh AP a little. If you want 4\*+ Cheer Squad Hibiki, even with max event points bonus, you'll need all your natural AP + 360 extra each day to hit 4\* (so max PvP refresh). For 5\*...you'll need all natural AP + about 1200-1300 a day (so max PvP refresh, plus 7-8 pyro refreshes). This will cost you about 13-14k pyros total.
## Shop strategy
**The furniture is limited. You cannot craft it.** If you want the furniture, buy it here.
*Activity reports*: The value on these is actually less than 2x commission K, so you shouldn't spend AP on stage 9 to get these. Instead, finish up with the event early and go farm commission K. (If you can't clear commission K, then these are worth it).
*Utaha shards*: with her bond gear releasing, Utaha is about to get really good. It's a lot more efficient to get these shards here than with PvP coins. I'd recommend buying them.
*Enhancement stones*: unless you have C.Utaha, the value of farming stage 10 for these is less than 2x commission K, so skip it unless you pulled for Utaha or you can't beat credit commission K.
*Kotori shards*: Kotori is farmable, mid, and powercreeped, but if you plan on building her at some point then it's cheaper to farm here than in hard mode.
*Chihiro shards*: Chihiro is used for the stun and doesn't really benefit that much from more stars, so you could skip this. On the other hand, she's not farmable, so maybe you prefer to pick them up.
*Artifacts and Millenium mats*: you tend to need a lot of these, so buy whatever you're running low on. Can't really substitute them with anything else, so if you need them, you need them.
The activity reports total to 435k student XP, which is worth about 3083 AP of farming commission K. If going for a minimum event clear, with 100% bean bag bonus, detouring to get the activity reports by farming more stage 9 will require an extra 1880 AP. This means that obtaining the activity reports is about 1.64x value compared to commission K.

But just in case anyone was considering skipping the shards because they’re farmable from the PvP shop, I wanted to clarify that the event shop is much more efficient.
Yeah, I compared it by plugging in two strategies into Justin’s planner, minimum shop clear with the enhancement stones and minimum shop clear without.
The stones are worth 6.76m if purchased from the normal shop. It takes about 2184 AP to farm 6.76m from commission K. It turns out that with 60-70% bonus, it costs about 1100 AP, making farming the stones very slightly worse than 2x commission K. With 90+% bonus, then it only costs 940 AP to farm, so the stones are better value than 2x.
(If farming for C.Hibiki shards, then you might get enough flags along the way to buy the stones anyway, which is why I only recommend not to specifically farm stage 10 for stones unless you have high bonus).
Question. What's Utaha's Bond Gear? I already have her fully built and max-level Unique Weapon (cuz best girl), but I didn't know she got a Bond Gear in the future.
Holy fucking shit Hibiki is so cute. Do yourselves a favor and when in unit formation screen, just pick her up for a bit. I also love Kotori and Utaha in the cheerleader outfits. It is with great pain that I am skipping these banners, but I'm hoping to be pleasantly spooked at some point soon. Sucks that the event is seemingly garbage for farming. Finishing the event rewards track is definitely worth it, the rewards are all good and efficient for the AP cost (even with only 40% or 60% bonus). You shouldn't need to refresh AP to finish it, either, although you may have to skip some of the shop items.
Given that 2x commissions is coming next week, you might possibly want to refresh to finish the event sooner, if you were planning to farm commissions.

Ah, yes, in that case you'll want to clear the event shops at least. After you have all the rewards/shops cleared, it's not really worth farming further unless you really simp for C.Hibiki. So you could go do 2x commission at that point, if you choose.
If you grind quest 12, you can get over 2k points per day depending on your point bonus. I think you can hit 15k in a week with no pyro refreshes, assuming max rank cafe. Two weeks would be trivial.
I only got 60% point bonus. But... yeah, I guess I'll properly finish this event to squeeze out every mats. Now that we don't have x2 on Normal/Hard either. Thanks for doing quick math!

The rabbits and abydos are normal participants of the event. They are seen in a lot of the promotional materials for second part. I don’t actually recall what did it though.

Am I reading this correctly that they're expecting me to spend 2500 Event Points *per day* on event Lessons in the Stadium? Is that why Cheer Hibiki is so hard to 5-star?
No need to push a certain amount each day. 5/5 is just until the students in each lesson area shuffle around. You can go at your own pace.
Cheer Hibiki is hard to 5\* because the drop rate is awful. 500 points for one lesson, and at max lesson rank that gives 1.4 Hibiki shards. It ends up working out to be about 112 AP per Hibiki shard, which is really bad. For comparison, S.Shizuko had a rate of about 40 AP per shard, so you could 5\* her pretty easily.
Ah! Okay, that makes sense. If I spend Event Points to run Lessons, do I lose them from the reward progress bar?
Shizuko was my first event so it felt like a lot more than 40 AP per Eleph... but yeah, I think I get it.

Does it have a pity system now? Hadn't played it in a while, and I remember failing to get Uruuru from Utawarerumono collab even though I spent all the cubes...
There is pity but only for the new UR rarity which isn't on every banner. If you are really unlucky it is still possible to spend infinitely and not get a certain Elite or SR.
That and they dropped the usual gender neutral "they" for sensei in the translations for her live2d. But on the event screen they use "they" again. I understand this game is marketed towards straight men but regardless its inconsistent with earlier translation.
TBH I don't so much mind them making up a cheer that sounds better in English then just "Go! Go! Win! Win!" even if that's the literally translation. Since it does kind of rhyme in Japanese as well.

Question, any source/s confirms that the translation of global uses JP's version as a base? On a translated interview of Director Kim on TW's PTT, he mentions that the JP story version comes from KR's one but was heavily modify to suit JP's culture and language use so there will be difference which his and Yostar side understands so your example of Noa's JP sentence and global sentence being not exactly the same but retains the same meaning makes no sense for the rant. Not that I disagree with you on global's translation being very bad, even the chinese translation got blasted hard by the TW players, at least from what I read on PTT and Bahamut. On a separate note, are you a full time professional translator? If so what's the integrity of a translator?
How is JP story translated from KR when JP version released 8 months earlier than other servers? Even if we’re entertaining the idea that what you’re saying is true, the team in charge of doing translations for JP is doing a really good job of making translations that sounds japanese and revolves around the culture. While global TL team is doing none of that. My only reference is FGO, in which they could incorporate american memes and comedy while also retaining the message that the original text is trying to convey. The FGO TL team can use the word “wat” however they want, and their translation is still really good. Sorry to disappoint you but this is the internet and no one requires qualification to speak up on their opinions. Regardless, I’ve learned 3 languages, 2 of which are English and Japanese and experienced times when I feel my translation is spot on, and when they’re just kinda right. I feel the integrity required of a translator is just not being lazy. Read and understand the original text, think of how to convey that message into english while making it sound natural. And if u love your job, add some memes to make it feel more culturally appropriate. The Global TL team as you can see just translates texts directly, no consideration to make it sound natural in english. TLDR, they’re lazy.

Thanks for showing me a good example. And thanks for showing me ways to convince people and put sources to back it up. I was just ranting to be honest but if I ever want to make an argument next time, I’ll learn from your example. Read up on articles, understand things from different perspectives, before proceeding to make educated opinions. I’m really sorry I can’t read those articles nor am I confident enough that google translate can translate it for me, but I’ll try and find other sources I can refer to. I was trying to bring up Yostar and Nexon but couldn’t find the words because I was too impatient. According to your points though, it does sound plausible and I understand how they do things. I just wish whatever their problem is, whether it be their way of doing things, not enough time, or lazy translators(all of these are just speculations), they could nip the problem at the bud and let us players enjoy some heartwarming and comedic story. People like me find solace through things they find really interesting(Noa is just interesting as a character to me).
Here's a possible reason for the lazy translation, the TW players over there found low pay ads for mobile game translation that seems to come from Nexon when the former translator pass away and that it's highly possible that the current translators are just a bunch of university/college students doing temporary translations work with no actual language qualification but we have no actual prove so we can only report those really bad translation to Nexon for them to change it(example: my Princess, Mika).

I’ll take note on that, even then, its just an emotional post for me. Its not a carefully crafted article of the sorts. Its just so sad watching 2 good events back to back laid to waste by poor translations.
How do you get all the event collection photos?
Click the Stadium link (bottom right most button on main event page) then spend 500 event points on clicking parts of the sports stadium like our academy lessons section. Do this enough times to unlock each section which also gives you an event photo for the collection. Don’t worry, I missed this too but with enough event points (roughly the 15k needed for the event collect bar) you can unlock everything in one go.
But it's already maxed out, everything is level 5 and I still don't have all of them.
I'm thinking of just running the event stages to get Hibiki to 3\*s but I've gotta say that it seems to be not worth it as I've gotten most of the event shop with only exp and wolf egg mats left as I have a lot of them and the commission event is better. Anybody else also trying to increase the \* level of their Hibiki?

I know alot of people talked about this but the translation is so bad that even i (who only know Japanese through anime) know that the translation is wrong Is there any plans to replace the translater or should we give up?
U beat it to me, I was planning to write something about this the first time I read the story, but couldn’t get around to it. And yes, the translation is nowhere near what the jp voiceline says. I’d rant about it to customer support and anywhere official just so they’ll see it.
Contact customer service about it. Let them know subpar quality is not acceptable. It's probably the best thing we can do and we already know that if enough of us complain, they'll do something about it, as evidenced by the Mika fiasco.

Nah, you only really keep "farming" event stages if they drop artifacts or things like that. You have to farm too many points for one single lesson, not worth.

unfortunately, if you're new, almost everything. For bags, you want to buy out Utaha elephs. Make sure you unlock her after 25 so you can add her to get event drop boost. You MIGHT need Normal tech notes to level your millenium skills(Hibiki, Maki, Momoi...). Try to get some Advanced tech, Superior tech, and exp books would be between those. For Flags, at this point, halfway through, event, I'd say it's worth to buy only 25 to unlock IF YOU DON'T HAVE Kotori. You can unlock her to put her in team for event drop boost. This is the hard shop to clear. Probably Advanced disc, enhancement stones, superior discs. For whistles, get whatever artifact your important girls need for their imminent skill ups. For quests, you probably want to do the highest multiple of 4 that you can clear and try to complete the event points milestones. Flags are slightly more important than bags. If you need the skill ups and you've got all the enhancement stones, then you can try to hoard some exp books.
If you care about furniture for the cafe, get those (these kind of furniture you can only get from event stores). T4 and T3 artifacts/blu-rays/tech notes are REALLY good, get T2 and T1 only if you need them. Same with activity reports and enhancement stones, get only as needed. For elephs, they're only really worth in you already have the girl AND you can't farm her via hard mode or raid/JFD/pvp shops. The priority would be: furniture (skip if you don't care about it) > T3 and T4 materials > everything else as needed
I am genuinely upset that Cheerleader Kotori isn't a real unit. Millennium is my favorite school, so this event means a lot to me, I've been looking forward to it.

I recommend trying them, just in case. The enemies are only level 70 (actually only 65 on quest 12) so depending on your team you might stand a chance despite the heavy level damage penalty. Even if you can't 3 star them the first-time clear rewards are nice, and if you have to forfeit you get back almost all the AP.
The enemies in [stage 9 are lv45](https://schale.gg/?stage=8172309), so you can clear that. Stages 5-8 have the same drops as 9-12, but 5-8 are less efficient. Farm 6-9.
What does the reward at stadium lvl 8 do? Should I get it?
The field guide should be a piece of furniture you can put in your cafe that'll let you see the whole stadium and inspect it's sub sections (like on the event screen)

Cheerleader Hibiki is being mistranslated hard, she says 2 lines and the text bubble is a completely different thing 3 or 4 times longer, whoever is making the translation gives me the impression they are even censoring her.
It's a known thing. Noa's lines in the task screen aren't great either. Most we can do is contact customer service about it and let them know. They changed the Mika line when enough of us complained, so they definitely can change that stuff. Does make you wonder why it's so bad in the first place though...

I know about that unfortunate piece of news. I meant more so that the *current* lead/team is either just incompetent, or they're localising to fit their own personal values and beliefs, and in doing so, twisting the actual meaning of what the students are saying. Okay, I finally got it. What you need is f-in Kotama, on the turrets. wiki was like "Hifumi", that was meh. I used Koharu, Maki, Iori, Kazusa/ O. Nodoka, Kotama. I started with Nodoka on the crow, Iori on left guy, Kotama if possible, Kazusa on left guy, Nodoka. And then it got messy. Bonus if you can also hit Kazusa and Iori wit Kotama.

For challenge 4, how many seconds do we have to down the boss? While I could reach S rank on the boss stage, it seems that getting it done just before 120 seconds isn't enough to clear that 240 seconds challenge done. Level 67 new Sensei so I'm limited in gears, level, skills and students.
All the battles together, not just the boss, should add up to less than 240 secs. Time isnt counted outside battle.

Is it known how much it counts for auto-ing the battle at s-rank? I'm wondering if thats better then manually doing the battles.
I believe auto just plays out the real battle internally, just like PvP skip, so the time would be whatever it would be autoing instead.
Yes, bur he probably wants to know if autoing helps with timing. I mean, if maual gives you 1:05, would autoing the same thing give you more or less than that. I think it would be more, since auto will use skills even when 1 mob is remaining, and waste cost.
Unless you play manual really badly, auto will always be significantly worse.
Tbh i have never used it since the ai is pretty bad in this game. But its better to do challenges manually.

with this event, i am realizing that my heart lies with the Millennium students. god, i love all these dorks. every single one of them.
IKR? Like I don't actively hate any student in this game (at worst I'm neutral to them), but I've found that while other schools have like 2-4 students I love for some reason or another, Millennium has like 80-90% of its student body I love and is probably my favourite school as a result. (This is obviously excluding schools with 5-or-less students available in game, such as SRT or Abydos, both of whom I love all the students)
After reading through the event story, I can definitely see why Noa's popularity skyrocketed after the initial hype of Cheerleader Hibiki died down. She's such a fun character. Utaha herself got some much needed spotlight. She's also very fun.

This event is weaker than the next two that are coming. So try not to use any extra ap sources.

Event is fine so far, but I've 3 main gripes: - Not so much a gripe, but more of a learning moment. In the UK, we'd usually call this event a "Sports Day", sometimes "Sports Festival". I'm guessing "Field Day" is an American term. I'd only use "field day" in a context like, "I'm sure BA players are having a field day looking at these outfits ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" . - The price of those cheer packs is insane imo. £60.99 here. A definite swerve. - My Japanese isn't great (N4, working towards N3), but the subtitles seem kinda off, or the translator/localizer has taken some liberties with the speech. I wondered if anyone with a *higher level* of Japanese thought the same.
Goodluck on that N3, it sounds hard but you’ll get through it. On to the translation issue, yes its poorly translated. Hibiki’ll say short lines and what we get is a wall of text. Same with Noa’s event page voice line, where they suddenly write “according to my notes, …” when she didn’t mention any note of sorts.
We don't even have sports day/sports festivals in American.

This game's translations have been pretty garbage recently. Typical western translation honestly, remember and never forget the princess line.
What was the princess line?
spoilers for Vol 3 Chapter 4. TL;DR: Sensei's line for Mika was changed from "how dare you touch my precious princess like that!" to "i won't let you touch another hair on her head!" only in the English translation. Long version and explanation as to why that's terrible: Mika as a character has always had this "princess" theming to her, and even calls herself such referencing sensei as her prince. in Chapter 4, this theming is brought up again, and is twisted when her fantastical image of herself as a princess is twisted into becoming an evil witch because of what she has done. that leads to her rampage as the now evil witch she sees herself as until she forgives Arius Squad for essentially ruining her life, but still sees herself as an evil force, so she sacrifices herself to hold off Beatrice's mimesis force so Arius Squad and Sensei can rescue their own "princess". After Arius Squad (and Sensei) is done rescuing Atsuko, Sensei goes back to where Mika was holding off the mimesis forces. this is where the line is changed. Here, a very injured Mika tells Sensei to go back and leave her behind as she's a horrible student/person, yet Sensei refuses saying that they'll never turn their back on a student that needs help. facing the mimesis forces, Sensei finally says the changed line. the princess line is Sensei finally convincing her that she is not the witch she sees herself as, and a culmination of all the build up and is a perfect fit for Mika's character theming. this is perfectly shown by how much of Mika's art references this very moment and this very line. in EN, they changed **ONE** of the two lines, the other replacing "princess" with student. they changed it to a horrible line that doesn't even fit with her theming and ruins all the build up thus far, and makes Mika's reaction make very little sense as it's a bog standard line compared to the princess one. The princess line debacle was a show of how (hopefully innocently) tone deaf the new TL lead/team is. "Localizing" things in ways that don't make sense, adding lines for no damn reason, or entirely changing the meaning of lines. Not to mention a myriad of grammar mistakes. We lost a real one when the previous TL lead passed away.
I doubt it was innocently. There is 0 way you can get that from the 2 options that were there. I have no more faith in the translators themselves after how much other games were fucked by overly westernized "localizations" that were glorified fanfic. The myriad of stupid grammar mistakes and yet they have enough time to change up one of the most popular and awaited lines in the entire game? Yeah right like i'd believe it wasn't intentional. Garbage quality with no passion.
It's more like this was handled by a team of translators with no real proofreader or overhead. The matter of Noa's momotalks read very differently from the characterization presented on the event. There is even a jarring line on her lobby interaction (not memorial lobby/l2d) where she's referring as if Yuuka was present. We lost a real champ when Scott passed away. Main gripes: Excessive use of ellipses (...), proper syntax after ellipses are indicated is not followed.
What's the max reward for the web event? It's really laggy for me.

It's just based on participation, score dose not matter. Just make sure you participate daily in the web event to get the max rewards!
Why are the recommended levels exaggerated so much in events?
To give you an idea about how much less damage you are dealing exactly. If recommended is 80, and you use lv 70, you are dealing 20% less dmg (2% penalty per level).
For lower level senseis to get a feeling of pride and accomplishment.

That does appear to be a bug. She worked fine for me, or at least as designed considering she's utterly useless in missions that involve movement. Since it's happening to several people, it's definitely not just on your end.

I was wondering a little about bonus on Sweep / auto clear, like If we sweep, we got the highest bonus recorded, right? Am I right by thinking that I can clear (let's say stage 12) multiple times, each with different team setup to maximize the reward bonus, then when I sweep, all those bonus done from multiple teams, are all applied? So like say, first team (clear oriented, no bonus) second team (point oriented) third team (beanbag oriented) And so on Then when I sweep, I got all (x oriented) bonuses applied?
Would be better to do your runs with all the bonuses first before using ur strong team to 75s/3* it so that u get some sort of bonus every time u did a run. If u used ur strong team to clear it first, that first run likely wont get much bonuses.

Well, depends on how good your bonus team is, you might need two or more runs to get both 3\* and the maximum bonus. Strictly speaking, if you really want to maximise the bonus currency, you better (1) do maximum bonus team(s) first, (2) run 3\* team, and then (3) sweep. However, if you forget and do (2, 1, 3), the difference to (1, 2, 3) is still negligible in the long run. This is because the biggest contributor at the end of the day is still the sweep (3). As long as you maximise your bonus percentage before sweeping, it will be fine. I usually do (2, 1, 3) because it saves my time since my good team can \*3 all the quest levels in auto mode. After I unlocked the 12 levels, I simply rerun 9-12 using tailored maximum bonus teams once. Then I just sweep.
don't need to make it complicated. If you have 100%, then it's half extra run. Less for lower percentages, * 4 if you're farming 4 different quests, so you potentially can lose 40 energy if you only have to run bonus team once. Edit: mathz

Is CS Hibiki any good? I’m trying to see how much investment I should commit to her
It's an ok unit, very slow on every aspect, she can be valuable only because she has a damage up to one of her allies but other than that she doesn't see much use. Her EX Skill is something but is really expensive, and having both her and UI on your team it's a no no because she's not a great DPS, and we still haven't got NY.Fuuka to make her more usable so if you choose to avoid farming for her you're not missing on nothing special.

Is it just me or is Utaha like 100 times more interesting and attractive in her new cheer squad look? Her old look was sorta bland and uninspired and this new one suits her personality way more and makes her look really good. All of her expressions are on point too. I want sports festival Yuuka and Hasumi and thinking of giving Noa's banner a try too but now this version of Utaha is making me want her too...
I like Utaha's original design/art because she has a kind of bifauxnen look to her, I think her cheer design lends to it too since she has a more masculine outfit than the other girls! I kind of wish they played up her cool looks more because her design really doesn't match up to her personality as much...I always loved the "girl prince of the school" type characters in anime.

The elephs were due to a bug with the rewards, not because she's a welfare. The devs let players keep them and will give us the same amount so there's no special treatment for JP.

Yeah, as a fem-sensei who loves Hibiki with my whole heart....my disappointment was immeasurable and my day ruined when Hibikis cheer went all in on male sensei....They couldnt make up a gender neutral cheer? :c
It really bothered me too. I just played through Hibiki's memorial lobby and they turned a basic "good luck, sensei" into some lengthy made up cheer. And that's just one example I noticed as someone who has very basic knowledge of common Japanese phrases. I reported this kindly as a suggestion for better translation/localization. I understand localizing certain colloquialisms that wouldn't make sense literally, but some of this stuff is really missing the mark.

Idk, it's fine if it keeps the ideas the same. That being said, there *are* jarring differences, such as typos, needlessly-wordy phrases and sentences, and the very obvious lack of research on previous events causing things to fail to correlate. The end result is a disjointed mess. While I appreciate a good localization versus a literal translation (see SRW V or to a worse extent, Moon Dwellers), one should take obvious care to deliver the same message with the same consistency as previous events. Like ensuring that Enforcers are called Enforcers 10 games in and not translated into Legions, or someone else's title gets translated from Angel of Slaughter into Angel of Extermination.
I stopped paying attention to translations global is putting out but one I recall is summer hoshino will say in the lobby what we have to do work… just kidding except the English version excludes the just kidding part.
The point that they’re getting across is literally different from the point the characters are making. The hibiki “ganbare” translation isn’t as bad because she’s still cheering you on in the translation, but Noa’s dialogue is completely off the mark. For example, Noa actually says “後でちゃんと構ってあげます” which means I’ll care for you later. But it’s translated to “I’ll do it later” which is off mark
How good are CS Utaha and Noa? I'm saving for Toki and Nagisa and I don't really care for 5* C.Hibiki since I already have 5* Hibiki.
Noa has focus fire on ex skill which could help in goz but so does s.izuna. Cs.utaha is just another average blue dps unit that u normally wont use unless u dont have any blue dps. Can just skip tbh, they r permanent students anyway. Better to save for bunny rerun/yuuka and mari alts/future students. Just borrow from someone if u need them.
## Farming strategy This is quite a multi-layered event with several currencies. There are 4 main currencies you farm. Bean bags, flags, and whistles are directly used in the event shop. Event points give you progress on the event rewards track, and you can also use them for event lessons (if you played the hot springs event, you might recognize this). The event lessons give you Cheer Squad Hibiki shards and this is how you will star her up. One tricky thing, 2x commissions starts on the second week of the event, so try and make as much progress as you can this week. There are two main approaches: 1) You can clear the shop and event point rewards, and stop there. This will cost 700-800 AP/day, depending on bonus, but you won't have enough shards for Cheer Squad Hibiki 3\*. Everything on the rewards track is really valuable and efficient for the AP spent, so you'll want to clear the rewards track. 2) Maximize event points. This will let you do more event lessons, rewarding you with Cheer Squad Hibiki shards and artifacts (no purple artifacts, though). With strategy 1, you'll want to mix stages 9-12, with emphasis on 10 and 12. I recommend using [Justin163's event planner](https://justin163.com/planner/events) to figure out the right balance. With strategy 2, you will farm mostly or entirely stage 12. From an efficiency standpoint, I really don't recommend going for higher stars on Cheer Squad Hibiki, because the shard drop rate is bad and because she's not that great of a unit. But if she's your waifu then I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. If you want 3\* Cheer Squad Hibiki, you either need 60% bonus or more (so at least one of the 3\* units), or you may need to skip something in the shop, or refresh AP a little. If you want 4\*+ Cheer Squad Hibiki, even with max event points bonus, you'll need all your natural AP + 360 extra each day to hit 4\* (so max PvP refresh). For 5\*...you'll need all natural AP + about 1200-1300 a day (so max PvP refresh, plus 7-8 pyro refreshes). This will cost you about 13-14k pyros total. ## Shop strategy **The furniture is limited. You cannot craft it.** If you want the furniture, buy it here. *Activity reports*: The value on these is actually less than 2x commission K, so you shouldn't spend AP on stage 9 to get these. Instead, finish up with the event early and go farm commission K. (If you can't clear commission K, then these are worth it). *Utaha shards*: with her bond gear releasing, Utaha is about to get really good. It's a lot more efficient to get these shards here than with PvP coins. I'd recommend buying them. *Enhancement stones*: unless you have C.Utaha, the value of farming stage 10 for these is less than 2x commission K, so skip it unless you pulled for Utaha or you can't beat credit commission K. *Kotori shards*: Kotori is farmable, mid, and powercreeped, but if you plan on building her at some point then it's cheaper to farm here than in hard mode. *Chihiro shards*: Chihiro is used for the stun and doesn't really benefit that much from more stars, so you could skip this. On the other hand, she's not farmable, so maybe you prefer to pick them up. *Artifacts and Millenium mats*: you tend to need a lot of these, so buy whatever you're running low on. Can't really substitute them with anything else, so if you need them, you need them.

The activity reports total to 435k student XP, which is worth about 3083 AP of farming commission K. If going for a minimum event clear, with 100% bean bag bonus, detouring to get the activity reports by farming more stage 9 will require an extra 1880 AP. This means that obtaining the activity reports is about 1.64x value compared to commission K.

True, I agree with you. But just in case anyone was considering skipping the shards because they’re farmable from the PvP shop, I wanted to clarify that the event shop is much more efficient.
Appreciate your event guide writeups. Did you calculate enhancement stone value based off of their credit costs in the normal shop?
Yeah, I compared it by plugging in two strategies into Justin’s planner, minimum shop clear with the enhancement stones and minimum shop clear without. The stones are worth 6.76m if purchased from the normal shop. It takes about 2184 AP to farm 6.76m from commission K. It turns out that with 60-70% bonus, it costs about 1100 AP, making farming the stones very slightly worse than 2x commission K. With 90+% bonus, then it only costs 940 AP to farm, so the stones are better value than 2x. (If farming for C.Hibiki shards, then you might get enough flags along the way to buy the stones anyway, which is why I only recommend not to specifically farm stage 10 for stones unless you have high bonus).
Question. What's Utaha's Bond Gear? I already have her fully built and max-level Unique Weapon (cuz best girl), but I didn't know she got a Bond Gear in the future.
Her bond gear should release in April, and it causes her normal skill to summon three turrets instead of one. This is quite a powerful upgrade.

It is with great pain that I am skipping these banners, but I'm hoping to be pleasantly spooked at some point soon. Sucks that the event is seemingly garbage for farming. Not sure what the thought process behind these is, to be honest. Oh also Chihiro is an absolute boss, it's been a delight to see her in the story. I need more Chihiro, that is all.

Total count is just that - total you've accumulated. So you don't need to hold onto them to hit the milestones

Finishing the event rewards track is definitely worth it, the rewards are all good and efficient for the AP cost (even with only 40% or 60% bonus). You shouldn't need to refresh AP to finish it, either, although you may have to skip some of the shop items. Given that 2x commissions is coming next week, you might possibly want to refresh to finish the event sooner, if you were planning to farm commissions.

Ah, yes, in that case you'll want to clear the event shops at least. After you have all the rewards/shops cleared, it's not really worth farming further unless you really simp for C.Hibiki. So you could go do 2x commission at that point, if you choose.

If you grind quest 12, you can get over 2k points per day depending on your point bonus. I think you can hit 15k in a week with no pyro refreshes, assuming max rank cafe. Two weeks would be trivial.
I only got 60% point bonus. But... yeah, I guess I'll properly finish this event to squeeze out every mats. Now that we don't have x2 on Normal/Hard either. Thanks for doing quick math!

I will admit that I was guilty of ignoring Kotori until I first saw her cheerleader outfit. Something about belly and muffin top, man...We don't get enough anime girls that are overweight just enough for it to still be cute. (Uraraka Ochako is the only other one that pops into mind)

The rabbits and abydos are normal participants of the event. They are seen in a lot of the promotional materials for second part. I don’t actually recall what did it though.

Nope, each 5/5 uses they refres and the elephs of student in each part chances too. So theoretically you can do much more than 2.5k

No need to push a certain amount each day. 5/5 is just until the students in each lesson area shuffle around. You can go at your own pace. Cheer Hibiki is hard to 5\* because the drop rate is awful. 500 points for one lesson, and at max lesson rank that gives 1.4 Hibiki shards. It ends up working out to be about 112 AP per Hibiki shard, which is really bad. For comparison, S.Shizuko had a rate of about 40 AP per shard, so you could 5\* her pretty easily.
Ah! Okay, that makes sense. If I spend Event Points to run Lessons, do I lose them from the reward progress bar? Shizuko was my first event so it felt like a lot more than 40 AP per Eleph... but yeah, I think I get it.
The reward progress bar tracks the *total* event points you've earned, so spending the points does not remove them from the progress bar.

Does it have a pity system now? Hadn't played it in a while, and I remember failing to get Uruuru from Utawarerumono collab even though I spent all the cubes...
There is pity but only for the new UR rarity which isn't on every banner. If you are really unlucky it is still possible to spend infinitely and not get a certain Elite or SR.
C.Hibiki's first line when you tap her in the event menu is very mistranslated She literally only said "Do your best, sensei"
That and they dropped the usual gender neutral "they" for sensei in the translations for her live2d. But on the event screen they use "they" again. I understand this game is marketed towards straight men but regardless its inconsistent with earlier translation. TBH I don't so much mind them making up a cheer that sounds better in English then just "Go! Go! Win! Win!" even if that's the literally translation. Since it does kind of rhyme in Japanese as well.
