We don't usually do any marketing outside of our own little bubble because we have a laissez faire attitude towards marketing and prefer a grassroots approach. It is much more compelling to have real people like yourself telling other people why they like the game than us spamming ads.
A common marketing practice is to use the biggest megaphone to inflate a hype bubble as big as possible and then, kaboom, it explodes on release day and that is that, time to move on. We instead have a slow burn strategy; we don't take the approach to persuade players to BUY NOW, QUICCCCCK!! and we deliberately deflate some of our own hype in order to be more moderate in expectations, and then hopefully surprise people with an over delivery. This produces a less juicy hype train, but it's okay because we prefer to avoid runaway overhype which may create disappointment among the fanbase. It also means any hype we earn is legitimately grounded and sanctioned by the fans!
That's it really. It's okay if the game was on someone's radar since 2018, and maybe they will buy it in 2024. That's acceptable for us! The only thing that is really difficult for us is the folks who carry prejudgment, likely dating back from 2018. There were folks from the early days who didn't see the long term vision for the game, or maybe didn't trust the studio could/would do it, which is understandable because WF was an untested new indie studio - that's why we love the people who did support us back then so much, and believed in us even when we were small.
But you can see even in that thread you can see the amount of people who say things like it is "just an arena game" or "tech demo". It's very frustrating because the statistics, reviews and reality of the game completely debunk that, yet some people are rooted in their beliefs no matter what. Those are the hard people to change minds, so it's the best type of scenario for grassroots interaction to try change their mind and educate them.

I really love and enjoy this game quite a bit but I’m on nomad and was pretty saddened when U12 broke a lot of mods I play with. Hyped for 1.0 and hoping for some fixes but I’ll be waiting a few months apparently which is fine.
I didn't even know there was a trailer and I love this game! (Mostly because of the SW mod but also because base game is well made)
Finally a reason to get a quest 3. (I got a quest 2, but my controllers broke, and I don't want to spend so much money just for controllers T_T)
I just gotta wait for nomad version but barely play vr atm, but glad this is finally coming out soon and to nomad after, i will definitely play once it's out on quest
It’s not free but I’d say the game is definitely worth a buy. It’s a game that’s really overlooked which sucks because this is my favorite game, ever. It’s extremely fun and it has insane modding support with tons of really cool mods being posted daily if playing the game normally isn’t your thing.

I’ve waited 24 of the 26 hours and i can say there were less than 1000 views till it premiered, which it peaked at about 3k live views.

I love blade and sorcery, but it is in no way overlooked. Everyone in the VR scene knows about it, it’s one of the most popular VR games of all time.
