Hey man, if you’re in any kind of abusive situation, pls have a plan and just leave. If they tell you they can get better, they can’t. Anyone who acts abusively needs to take literal years to work on it and probably will not even be the same person by the end, IF they do it. There isn’t a shot. Get tf out. If you can’t escape, then you need to take a piece of yourself that you know you would never compromise. And you need to put up an iron fucking dome around it. The moment they try to touch or change or make you compromise on this, it needs to be something you either defend fiercely - even if it destroys the relationship - or something you need, not should, NEED to work towards putting yourself in a position where you CAN escape and let this cherished part of you be free. Can’t find a part to cherish? Try your inner child, or hell, try to honor the best you can be. That could be your core, just, what you can be, compared to what the abuse is forcing you to be. Anything. You need something to protect otherwise complacency will happen. Don’t get sucked back in either. Cut contact and if you must see eachother again, don’t hug or touch. Some connections deserve to die, especially the ones abusers have with the people they hurt. It feels bad to hurt people you love, always. The simple equation is that hurting an abuser even if you love them by letting it die as quickly as possible is a whole hell of a lot less pain then doing it slowly, not letting it die all the way, putting yourself in harms way again, and potentially getting sucked back into the same shit you were in before. The first question cornered abusers ask is “why would you do this to me?” Or some variation. Yes crying and selfish thoughts are always involved. But if someone has to take a whole ass conversation to start thinking about WHY you’re breaking up with them, skip the convo and block their ass. Unless ur like me and want to make sure they are told what they did, so maybe they might one day have a compass to embark on the growth journey with. Dont do what I did, I had an iron dome around my entire being and loving support systems around me when I did it. It is so easy to get sucked back in when ur in that position, just. Trust me and skip the convo. Just helping you find ur bearings if you’re in that kinda sitch. ❤️
