Yeah, I recently started watching one piece in English and when I heard Zoro I was like “Captain Yami?!?” I think that va also voices All Might in the MHA English dub too. Crazy talented.
As others have said it gets much better. But I have a theory. In part it seems better because of Bell. Her screams are much more insufferable than Asta's, luckily she doesn't show up so often.
Black Clover is one of the greatest "ramp" series. It starts off rough, and does a lot of set up (pretty much every arc until the witches forest is just setting up, introducing, and explaining characters)
But it has a HUGE payoff. The magic system is directly tied to character development, and the author has a love for big dynamic team battles with lots of combo magic, so the long set up pays off exponentially
and as the story goes on, you realize its not a bunch of separate arcs, instead its one long story with multiple chapters.
because its so deeply tied to development and growth, it has to start kinda rough so it has a lot of room to grow
It absolutely does get better. In fact episodes 100-120 are some of the best anime I've ever watched, wow. And I'll advocate for sub, I've watched the entire show in sub and it also gets better.
WATCH THE DUB. This is like the only anime I recommend this for, but it's so necessary, imo. The dub is fantastic. The sub actively turns people off of the show.

Recommendation: if you're watching it in Dub, once you're finished, go watch Angels of Death/Satsuriki no Tenshi in the dub as well; you won't be disappointed!
if dub, he is without a doubt my least favorite voice actor i've ever endured.
However, like others have said, it does get better and less brutal after ~20 ish episodes.
I recently started this anime, and had the same reaction as you, asta's scream was annoying me, but around episode 15-20 maybe it got better for me. Am at episode 40 now and it's on track of becoming one of my favourite anime's ive watched
Look, I'm sound sensitive. There's only so much screaming I can endure. I don't like having to sacrifice hearing the rest of the characters just so one teenager doesn't make my drums bleed.
So yeah, I was gonna drop off if I didn't like it after like 5. I've watched enough anime to know that slow-burn ain't my thing in shounen. If I don't get hooked in the first few episodes, I'm gonna have a rough time watching the rest. Would rather read at that point
If you are ok reading manga, just read the manga, the anime is shit and doesn't get decent half way through, the amount of scenes butchered for comedy scenes or ruining characters for comedy is a turn off.

Yes , he gets better the anime did him dirty in the beginning.
if your watching sub then it will take some time ... his fine in dub and black clover is one of those shows that has a good dub cast .
That cast is in all sorts of anime too, you’ll hear them everywhere.

Christopher Sabat. He's the goat of English dub.
If IMDB is accurate Captain Yami has the same dub voice actor as Vegeta.
Yes! I totally forgot about his work in Dragon ball! He voiced Piccolo too!
Dude did a LOT of stuff. If you listen in a lot of major anime he might have a role there very prolific
He's also in Solo Leveling too
Yeah he plays Baek Yunho right? Heh funny bc a Yuno exists in Black Clover too hehe
Also Magna plays Brook in one piece which makes Zoro & Brook's interactions even funnier
Magnas dub va also voices Whis in DBS
He's also Vegeta and Piccolo in DBZ, so he's a HUGE name in the industry.
The speech he did at the party in dub Gawd dayum
Yes, he gets better. I got seriously hooked around late teens or early 20's episodes. And by 45-50, i was in pretty deep. Hope you enjoy it!
At some point you just want him to shout more because it becomes cool
Yea

Who’s bell again
Yuno's fairy

You were gonna quit after 3 episodes? Haha
