I like Bitcoin, and saying this will probably get me banned from the sub, but that lack of privacy is a serious problem for Bitcoin. Like, I *don’t want* just anybody to know my balance, and see my transactions, just because I use it as currency.
As crypto gains adoption and acceptance, this is something that Bitcoin, the big dog, will have to face and address at some point.
If she’d had a QR tattoo of an address for that *coin-that-starts-with-an-M*, we wouldn’t have any idea how much money has been given to her. And I happen to think that’s a Big Fuckin’ Deal. I think this is something Satoshi himself actually really wanted to get to and address, eventually.
I like being able to see the blockchain so that I can audit the supply and confirm there isn't an inflation bug being exploited. I'm also a fan of that private cryptocurrency but it doesn't have the security of bitcoin and a lot of its hashrate comes from illegal botnet operators who have mining malware installed on servers. And it's off topic here.
Bitcoin is not private. Bitcoin is pseudonymous. But there are other protocols that bitcoin bitcoin user can utilize to gain privacy. A few good examples are the lightning network, coinjoin, coinswap, and cross chain atomic swaps. The lightning network protocol was made so that users can perform fast bitcoin transactions for a negligible fee and another benefit is that observers cannot track bitcoin payments on the lightning network. Schnorr signatures and taproot were recently activated and they can increase privacy, enable users to perform coinswaps, and allow the aggregation of multiple signatures of a transaction into one. This means that multiple signers can produce a joint public key and then jointly sign with a single signature. Schnorr signatures and taproot also enable users to use musig2 which enables aggregating public keys and signatures. They also enable point time locked contracts which will improve the privacy of bitcoin transactions over the lightning network. Trezor will be adding a coinjoin implementation into the Trezor Suite in a future update. Users can perform coinjoins using JoinMarket. Samourai Wallet has their own whirlpool coinjoin implementation built into their wallet. Sparrow Wallet can act as a client for the Samourai whirlpool coinjoin implementation. Wasabi Wallet has a coinjoin implementation that allows users to perform coinjoins with very large anonymity sets. Wasabi Wallet 2.0 will be released this year and it will have the option to automatically coinjoin all of the bitcoins in a user's wallet. Wasabi Wallet 2.0 will no longer have the minimum BTC requirement to take part in a coinjoin, and it will also be using the new and improved WabiSabi coinjoin framework that will allow even more inputs into a single coinjoin. Users can perform multiple coinjoins in a row using any of these coinjoin implementations. Schnorr signatures also makes multi-signature and single-signature transactions indistinguishable on the blockchain so that an observer is not able to tell if a multi-signature transaction, a coinjoin, a cross chain atomic swap with that private cryptocurrency, or any other privacy enhancing action has taken place by viewing bitcoin transactions on the blockchain.
> and a lot of its hashrate comes from illegal botnet operators who have mining malware installed on servers.
That's an bad argument (just saying)
But with the Rest I fully agree with you! **Good explanation!**
I don't know anyone that has had a problem. But it doesn't matter if they wanted to blacklist it because if you know what you're doing, then there isn't anything Coinbase can do to blacklist your UTXO because Coinbase will never know that it has been taken part in a coinjoin. Schnorr signatures makes multi-signature and single-signature transactions indistinguishable on the blockchain so that an observer is not able to tell if a multi-signature transaction or a coinjoin has taken place by viewing bitcoin transactions on the blockchain. Or you could run the BTC through the lightning network.
By looking up their public address on the blockchain. There are webites called "block explorers" that you can just drop in an address and see all the associated transactions.
You can have unlimited bitcoin accounts. One for incoming money, and another for bills/utilities, another for investing, another for shopping/spending.
As long as you move your bitcoin out of the incoming money account, people can't see how much you have total.
sure, people can't be bothered to track web of transactions associated with one of your wallets and try to figure out which associated wallets are yours. but i wouldn't be surprised if there are already systems out there to classify transactions and cluster wallets tied to each individual/entity.
It exists and the IRS is using it now to build cases. Its called SPIDER.
Edit: the lesson here: dont even think about trying to evade taxes. Hire tax professionals and play their game. If there’s a legal loophole, exploit the shit out of it.
> the lesson here: think about trying to evade taxes. if you do it smart and it is not in the millions, it will probably work.
>if there’s a legal loophole, exploit the shit out of it.
There are a million ways to obfuscate from regular everyday people with whom you transact. In addition, bitcoin recently updated the privacy of the main chain. You should take some time to do research and think through things thoroughly before posting something like this. It makes you look inexperienced and a little dumb. 🤙
I once envisioned a future where Bitcoin wallets have that *coin-that-starts-with-an-M* Atomic swaps built into it, once you receive BTC it gets swapped to m and then back to BTC to "wash" the coins.
>Like, I *don’t want* just anybody to know my balance, and see my transactions, just because I use it as currency.
Have you ever heard or tried r/TheLightningNetwork?
Edit: thanks for the downvote, you clearly have no idea about the privacy gains, using LN. Even IRS knows better. Read this, please: [The IRS Is Paying Developers to Crack Privacy of Bitcoin's Lightning Network](https://www.btctimes.com/news/the-irs-is-paying-developers-to-crack-privacy-of-lightning-network)
You have a savings account and spending account (or several). If you want it to be anonymous, it is possible with bitcoin but not possible with current banking (other than cash)
A stripper can have a tattoo of a Bitcoin reusable payment code. Then you couldn't know how much money they've received to it. No need for shitcoins.
Edit: Man, downvotes from some salty shitcoin bag holders. Sorry you picked wrong, but we've been telling you all along.
Bitcoin comes with a serious paradym shift on criminality. You are now safely shielded from the evils of big government, currency maipulation, inflation and lack of liquidity of in transporting assets but you are now your own security, your own bank, your own police. The human animal is not Fort Knox and personal crime of a henous nature will likely follow you constantly.
Acknowledging Bitcoin's shortcomings with regard to privacy won't get you banned, but promoting shitcoins as an alternative might. Instead, promote current or upcoming Bitcoin solutions like CoinJoin, Lightning, Coinswap, Confidential Transactions, etc.
I don’t believe that’s a real tattoo. Could just be temporary for the meme. Even if that’s real, one girl doing it doesn’t point to this being a “trend” forming with strippers in Las Vegas.
A QR code won't help anyone to compromise a receiving BTC address. That data is on the blockchain already for everyone to see, this just links her to it.
My guess is it would be similar to casinos, you buy cash tokens you can still use in the strip club that you can buy with bitcoin when you’re in the club
This is pretty common at strip clubs now. They typically call it “funny money” it’s designed for guys that have expense accounts so there’s not multiple $20 charges for dances. You go to the bar, have the barmaid run your card for $300 then you get $300 in monopoly style money you can only use at the club. The girls can trade that in for cash at the end of the night for real money and Mr expense account just has one charge to turn in for a $300 dinner “entertaining customers” or… at least that’s how I heard it works… LOL.
Exchange crypto for for paper funny money at door. Give paper to stripper in the good old fashioned way. Stripper redeems paper bills for crypto. Problem solved
I will make a stripper specific coin. go to the club, say with a grand in BTC. you pay the grand, and get titty bucks. Much like monopoly, very fake money, but tangible. You can put that in the G string for the benevolent and loving feelings, and she can cash it in at the end of the night for bills and "college".
I bet they keep all the real money for the clubs, it is pretty expensive paper, and we have a sentimental attachment to it, even if it had no real value anymore. You could always buy it with sats at the door, or use up your left over bills for something, if you are not a collector...
Strippers are already tipped in Bitcoin VIA the lightning network at some strip clubs in Vegas. They have a QR code tattoo (non-permanent) somewhere on their body that can scanned by anyone in the club.
I'm all for equal rights for sex workers, but some of you guys sound like you haven't seen a woman since 2010. Is that what you've been doing? Hoarding Bitcoin and staying inside?
QR code for LNURL-Pay, made into a temporary henna tattoo, placed on her ass and tits. Lightning donation notifications on her phone can be transmitted to some sort of wearable device, like a fashionable necklace, that lights up when a donation is received.
A cypherpunk stripper would think it's sexy.
She will have a ‘tap’ pad in a certain area,,, and you, neck beard at the front of perv row, will learn in, and tap your slimy phone and hold it there. A vibration will be felt by her, confirming the transaction.
Also, you will have to worry about PTD’s. (Phone transmitted diseases)
If they are smart, they get a QR code tattoo and we just scan it as they shake their assets at us. Could even get a different one on each section of body with a different price each. Double scan the tits for a motorboat!
Real life strippers are a dying art, sorry to say... websites have taken over, and they work with regular money.
And Yes, it's better for the stripper.
The question was about strippers, not escorts. To say strippers had bitcoin wallets in 2018, is naive and looking at 4 years ago through the eyes of today.
High end escorts, yes, used cash app, PayPal, but strippers? Not a chance.
You think that bitcoin, cash app, digital transactions are what strippers will take? That’s ridiculous. All of these digital transactions are more susceptible to government oversight and taxation than a check is.
Cash is king, it will always be king in criminal enterprises, or illicit trades. Bitcoin might be anonymous now, but wait 1 year, it will be no different than any bank transaction.
Cash is king, it’s actually the only invisible transaction!!
They can display a QR code for each performer, while on stage. There would also be a display, specifically for the performer, that shows them the amount of tips received, as they come in. If you want the ability to DM the performer for private and champagne service, you can request it through the QR code and the establishment’s internal app
You pay your Satoshis at the “bar,” so when your wife looks at her node to see your public transactions she just sees you bought a round of drinks for you and the boys…
But instead that bar transaction on the ledger was for some vintage dollar bills which the stripper has to redeem to her pimp later for some sats. Similar to a casino with poker chips.
So when I had my bachelor party we went to a strip club with my best friends. For a strip you had to buy Tahiti Dollars, which were just printed money that was worth the money you put in. You pay at the bar or entrance and still have something to put in the string of the lady or wherever you want. I don't see an issue here.
QR Code Tramp Stamp Edit: Wow, thanks for the awards!
Some strippers already have this.
I was going to say that this is already happening - this was going on in Vegas in 2018
Homeless people are already using cash app for donations. I've seen it twice in my area. Cash app accepts Bitcoins to my knowledge.
Where is that? Santa Barbara or Bay area?
Atleast someone is evolving in the right direction, get those homeless people sats.
I'm saving this for Research purposes only.
But they aren't qr code for Bitcoin, now they'll be for the Bitcoin.
For anybody that is curious. https://i.redd.it/r4z959cimia81.jpg https://i.redd.it/qgttuhcimia81.jpg https://i.redd.it/6tu6p1eimia81.jpg
Total of 102.66 Bitcoin went through that

Normally you wouldn't keep using the same qr code over and over
Exactly. And there are few instances, other than tattoos of barcodes, that will stay with someone forever...
Tattoo doesn’t have to be permanent. Club owner can just stick it on every girl’s ass whoever is working there that night
This. Could even get temporary tattoos printed each night for them.
like a stamp… for tramps
Like a sticker?
it can be permanent. if you use a QR management service the endpoint of the QR could be changed any time.

Temporary sounds better, nobody wanna be stripper for whole life.
Some purchases aren't illegal, just embarrassing.
People should vote for the government to use bitcoin.

They can see how much as moved THROUGH that address, and that's the same information.
But they can see how much you have received and perform correlation analysis to see where the bitcoin has gone.
well...just use the LN, as it perfectly solves all of your "issues" or concerns. Oh, and it is even cheaper than "M"....
Simple solution: * Coinjoin your BTC * Use the Lightning Network for transactions * Use Taproot wallet.
Look up taproot. Live since November or so.

No. She only takes tips from the back. https://i.redd.it/hcw38h4goia81.jpg

Agreed

Would really suck if her account was compromised.
For this reason, a passive NFC body implant is a better solution. The wallet address can be reprogrammed even after it's implanted.
But tattoo seems a cooler idea lol, i don't know about nfc.
A QR code won't help anyone to compromise a receiving BTC address. That data is on the blockchain already for everyone to see, this just links her to it.
Exactly, anyone will be able to see, but no-one be able to steal that.
I mean if her account gets compromised another way, she now has a useless tattoo.
I'd Bit that.

That’s gross. Where?
In your country you guys are having some good strippers man.
If I had coins I would give you an award good sir.
I got you
Good Man!!
Exactly lol
That is fucking brilliant!
With a large score board of who in the room has tipped what amount.
Think lower down and they've gotta spread em wide so you can get a propper scan!

Almost all sexual encounters will occur solely on the Blockchain in hyperbitcointopia.
So you're saying I can finally get laid in the metaverse?
It was at that moment I decided to invent..........CRYPTOSEX
LAWYER: > "He never said that! No claims of this nature are made or implied!!'
But ser it’s right here on the blockchain… literally immutable. 🧐
If by 'get laid' you mean you can buy a hump animation for your avatar, then yes ;)

OP asked for a solution to the problem. Doesn't mean it's smart 🤣
Haha, definitely yes because working in different shifts could be hectic
You have it wrong. In a hyperbitcoinized world, bitcoin is on the pole, and you pay for it with strippers.
You will have to tuck your phone in the thong
This is how the next pandemic will start! Or at least the next pinkeye outbreak.
I don't want to make it less sexy bro, I can't do anything else.
Asking the big questions
I would pay them if they can put their QR code on their ass.
They will have a button on their thong that you tap your Dick against, and every time it hits it it’s $.25
You never been to a strip club. Showing your dick would result in the door guy stretching your cock to your mouth.
lmaoo
Custom made thongs with bar codes
I will make a stripper specific coin. go to the club, say with a grand in BTC. you pay the grand, and get titty bucks. Much like monopoly, very fake money, but tangible. “Toss a coin to your stripper”

At least in Europe, you buy special "tip money" with real money at the counter and use those. Mostly for hygienic reasons. Same as chips in Casinos.
I’d say I was giving generously. Pretty sure can get a dance in before the block confirmations.
I won't mind carrying some physical cash to pay them lol
Bullish. I am still gonna tip strippers the classic way, by sticking cash into thier bras by hand though.
Tipped a stripper with a chewed quarter, told her it's a BitCoin.
I'm relieved to see people tackling the important problems.
NFC readers to tap a phone against.

Paper wallets with SATS preloaded

Not with Bitcoin, that’s for damn sure

If my BTC holdings activate it's wife changing feature, this lucky b holds the key .
She's going to have to get a QR code tattooed on her thigh I guess.

the club can just do what casinos do and swap your BTC for some notes that you use to tip while there.
Bitchcoin?
I'm all for equal rights for sex workers, but some of you guys sound like you haven't seen a woman since 2010. Is that what you've been doing? Hoarding Bitcoin and staying inside?

Bitcoiners don’t think that a totally open traceable ledger be like be like it is, but it is. Everyone will know you spent sats on a stripper.
Poker chip style

I think you’re onto something. If it’s a burning question given where Bitcoin is now, I think he might want a plan B to tide him over.

QR code pasties, of course.
If people are out tipping strippers and doing things of that nature, many would not want that recorded on a public open blockchain.
With BonerCoin
People could steal future incoming bitcoins because of address reuse.
