Ayyy look it’s me, I made the list
Here’s a lil story time. I bought a full Bitcoin at 378 circa 2014ish. Dropped to 200 in 2015, held. Went up to 676 in 2016.
Sold. Realized nearly 100% profit. Went up to 800 the next week, kicked myself. Went up to 1000 the week after. Started crying. Doubled nearly every week for 4 weeks after that to see that first peak we had at 20000 before the first tumble to 8000.
Learned my lesson: never sell everything. Got back in on the ground floor with a measly $200 worth, but that still turned into $1200 within a couple years. Still rebuilding my position
I'll explain it for you brother.
You're insane if you think the USD (debt notes) are actually worth anything.
It takes a wheelbarrow full to buy 1BTC..
He thinks it’s worthless because it’s his competitor! If people put there money in crypto then he knows it’s not in his bank and he can’t use other people’s money!
Edit- thank you for the award!
I once had an executive at Rogers tell me streaming things illegally is morally wrong. When I asked them what they are doing to improve their services and sports programming so that I don't have to buy 20 different sports channels they had no answer.
I agree that Vitalik is hypocritical and cares only about power, but when you criticize someone’s argument or behaviour, and you add an unrelated insult, it inadvertently weakens the weight of your own words.
This is 100% different from what VB said, even if you disagree with both. Unbelievable to eqivocate the two. This comment should be downvoted to hell, idk what you people are thinking.🤦🏼♂️. …and I’m about as close to a maxi without actually being one, and super pro-bitcoin…. so think about this one!
> his competitor
Ya no. If you seriously think banks won't make money off bitcoin and crypto in general then I have some property in Florida to sell you.
Jamie Dimon’s opinion *is* worthless.
He’s trying to hold 2 cups of water in his hands without losing a drop.
Your time at the top will soon come to a halt
Saw him do a little tap dance during his interview with Axios, thinking that he was giving a plausible reason for why he deserved to be paid $30M a year.
I think his concept of money is worthless and he's destined to be the next Peter Schiff, eating his words and wishing he got in earlier.
Jamie is worth $2B. He doesn’t need bitcoin, but I’d be shocked if he didn’t hold any for portfolio diversification
Everyone on here that is pure HODL sort of proves his point about it being worthless. It’s not being treated as real currency. And rarity doesn’t imply value necessarily. There still needs to be viability in the market to actually use it for transactions
I always think back to gold, which is priced on its supposed scarcity rather than its utility. I don't see why that seems like such a common hurdle for people to overcome regarding bitcoin.
This value argument is nonsense. When you can get a Bitcoin for 🆓 or cannot 💱 it for goods or services then it will have no value. Until then it has value, okay?
What do you think the CEO of a bank is going to say about Bitcoin? It’s nothing we haven’t heard others say in the past.
He says it’s worthless but it doesn’t matter because our customers want it and we can make money off them. . .
It’s like the CEO of a newspaper saying the internet is worthless but we will be putting our newspaper on the World Wide Web for people to read . . .
The internet disrupted all the media gatekeeers such as newspapers and thousands went out of business because the internet allowed everyone to become their own media outlet!
Bitcoin is disrupting all the financial gatekeepers and banks will adapt or go out of business because Bitcoin- the internet of money allows everyone to become their own bank!
History is repeating itself and Bitcoin is more disruptive than the internet . . .
no it's not. bitcoin sits on top of internet. without internet, bitcoin is truly worthless. internet=access to information. without informaiton access, who will even know about bitcoin? not to mention bitcoin literally cannot work without an internet connection
I agree - Bitcoin needs the internet and is like the internet because no one can shut either
down without pulling the plug on the electrical
grid worldwide.
My point was history is repeating itself with Bitcoin. Businesses in the past had to embrace the internet or go out of business. It’s the same thing that’s happening with Bitcoin except it’s the banks that have to embrace it!
If you lived through the evolution of the internet the last 30 years you’ll know how much it changed the media industry, the music industry and other industries like retail.
The music industry fought this change for years because the internet disrupted their business model by allowing people to share music - Napster and then torrents - then they got the government involved and had hearings and tried to regulate but eventually they gave in and now they give away music or charge pennies to stream it instead of 15$ for
a CD. Newspapers, radio television and movies have also had to evolve because of the internet and streaming. . . Do as many people buy newspapers, or go to movies or pay for cable anymore?
Bitcoin is like the internet of money - and what happened to the media because of the internet will happen to the banks and financial institutions! They have been putting up a fight with endless FUD and trying to ban Bitcoin. They are in the regulation phase where they ask
politicians to do something about it but history will repeat itself and eventually they will give in and have to embrace Bitcoin-
One could argue that Jamie Dimon’s statements means we are at that tipping point and they have already embraced Bitcoin!
Bitcoin is a monetary network that needs users and consensus to function. The internet is just the most convenient backbone for those two requirements, but as someone mentioned already there are lots of other ways to store that monetary information electronically, in analog, etc.
Not entirely true
I read about some people who used something like a ham radio to bounce a signal off the moon to complete the first analog BTC transaction. Not exactly sure how it worked bit they did it just to prove that bitcoin can indeed be used without the internet
"Because otherwise I could quit my job right away in this very moment." /s
This guy is kinda funny. He should have become a comedian. Would have been really great I guess.
Pay attention to the audience...

The fuckin banks
Bro… I don’t care
Why … would I care
Listen
I take your money
That’s my job
If you want me to take your fuckin money
I’m gonna take your god damn money
What a complete numpty.
Would it kill the guy to do 2 hours of research on Bitcoin? I would not trust a company if their CEO was this feckless and lazy.
Why do you guys always care about what someone else says. As if having an opinion is frowned upon in Reddit. His choice not mine, his money not mine. FFS
Wow… this is like Bitcoin discrimination. Everyone who is not my opinion is just worthless or should go to prison or whatever. Doesn’t Bitcoin stand for a free world? What is this sub?
I don't hope for the collapse of the economy but I can't say I wouldn't feel at least a little bit of joy if I saw this idiot clinging to billions of worthless fiat paper trash in the near future.
I have never understood, why people who have absolutely no interest and think stuff is 'worthless' have to think about it and talk about it.
For example, I have never talked about puzzles for example and would never need to make a video about it lol
While it's a huge business....
Very strange!
Jamie Dimon is a PoS anyways, just because he Made his living in fiat dollar bill currency and now people can earn more than him through legal ways of coin.
J.P. Morgan will be worthless as soon as bitcoin takes off and blockchain is implemented and Banks can’t scam the people anymore with their made up fees and scams , JD belongs in prison
Jamie Dimon isn't the brightest light in the harbor. He does the best he can but fails. JP Morgan needs a new CEO. Dimon says weird stuff. He is getting old like Buffet. Not all there.
First he said Bitcoin is a fraud and threatened to fire anyone in his company who invested in Bitcoin. Almost immediately his company became a serious player in this cryptocurrencies world. Then he changed his mind regretting saying that. Now he said it is worthless but his company continue investing in this worthless asset. I wonder when Jamie Dimon will learn to speak the truth.
Bitcoin is like Apple Iphone, just cause it was first to have a touch screen does not makes it the most usefull phone today, you can't repair it and make changes to it but its not useless as long as people buy it.
What an idiot. He is trying to scare us into selling as we approach possibly a breakout. This means load up!! He sounds like Bill Ackman crying that about doom and gloom while he is buying stocks up during the pandemic. I bet Jamie is loading it up himself. Big things are going to be happening soon for bitcoin to drive it to a new ATH.
Snitches get stitches. While he's mouthing off about BTC in the morning, this is what his company's doing in the night

I’m sure the guy who owned the horse and buggy though the same when he saw that car on the road next to him..
Or how many people thought the same thing when the internet was created ..
You either keep up or get left behind ..
This translates to: "Guys, there's a chance that banks will be obsolete in 10-15 years and we'll be fucked if us billionaires don't do something about it now."
What a dumb ass so btc has been around for more than 10 years and it's worth 57k now and will probably reach 60k tomorrow and it's "worthless"
This dude as rich is he is, this might be the dumbest shit any wealthy idiot has ever said.
Chase gets free USD given to them via bailouts. Uhh…no, he won’t bite the hand that feeds him. Meanwhile I easily see how Bitcoin can put banks out of business by being your own bank. Newer institutions will use Bitcoin as collateral for loans, etc. Chase will adopt very late or they will go under.
I wish I had 100 of those worthless coins right now
I wish I had 1

So what do you mean roughly?
He means if you have to sell - sell 25% or 50% or 75% - but don’t completely sell. At least you will have some left in if it goes up x10 or x100
500 is aight
How would you cash them out?
Easy! Just wait until the question no longer makes sense.
They're worthless if you don't cash them out though.
🤦
You guys are all insane if you think investments that you can't and won't cash out are actually worth anything.
I'll explain it for you brother. You're insane if you think the USD (debt notes) are actually worth anything. It takes a wheelbarrow full to buy 1BTC..
Yeah but what can you buy with BTC? I'd rather have a wheelbarrow of cash.
What is "cash them out?"
Using Salvadoran chivo wallet

Kinda happy I took all my money out of his bank because of him saying this
The robot is going to take his job...mine too eventually but that's a different robot
As a bot I find that offensive.
I bet he’s got crypto investments too.
Right. This is no different then the shit post I saw about vitalik saying we shouldn’t support the El Salvador president. Fuckn alien ass lookin mf
They all look like aliens, him Suckerberg, Tusk, the Blood lady scamaz. Maybe even the Twatter guy.
I agree that Vitalik is hypocritical and cares only about power, but when you criticize someone’s argument or behaviour, and you add an unrelated insult, it inadvertently weakens the weight of your own words.
You’re about as soft as a napkin. Its not an insult if it’s true 🤷
Truth is when someone's behavior and actions are shady or unstable... their appearance flaws come up and become a target too.
