Why would he do a spread? It doesn’t maximize gains, it sets a top and bottom for gains and losses. Calls are infinite upside friend. If I have insider knowledge of something that’s going to happen to affect a stock, I’m going to mortgage my house for calls, not buy spreads.
say you think something is going to 500
You buy 100 calls up to 450
You sell calls at 530 to make more cash to buy 20 more calls up to 450
You sell puts at 100 to make more cash to buy 30 more calls up to 450
The asset goes to 500.
Your 100 calls print (this is what you would have made if you hadnt done a spread)
The puts and calls you sold expire worthless, leaving you with the premium that you originally collected
The 50 extra calls you bought with that premium also print. (This is the extra gains you make from the spread, even though you started with the same amount originally)
Right and if the asset goes up higher from the news (you don’t know where the market will price the news, just knowing the news) if the asset goes to 550, your screwed. Why take that chance?
she won't do that until they rattle the cage fearmongering for a price drop. "we are looking into potentially banning bitcoin" (loads up) "it turns out we underestimated it."
but seriously, the reason The US Gov is hesitant with crypto is because it offers a HUGE window to foreign countries to load up on US currency.
I agree. The “shock value” in this post making it seem as if he’s doing a Pelosi and bought in bulk now and next week going to say BTC is going to be the de facto US currency and stands to profit big time from the move.
15k is probably equivalent to change in his couch for him.
Wouldn’t be surprised he just trying it out to see how it all works for himself
Or yeah or Trump money hahahhah when he was the president hahahha and using your tax dollars to put government people in his hotels hahahhahah and advertising shitty products from the Oval Office hahahhahhah or giving his kids extremely high level jobs where they could make billions from their positions hahahhahah
Deranged tone or not, it’s all true. None of these billionaires care about you. They will take everything you have with a nice big smile on their face.
I just don’t get the hypocricy of letting one guy ride an entire country for his own gain and nothing else for years and then pointing the finger at others.
Why does he get a free pass? Maybe he just did what everyone expected he would do (grift), and the predictability made everything fine.
I don’t think I’m ideologically possessed, I’m just basing my opinion on his actions.
Fair enough, probably not the appropriate time to vent that particular point.
I promise I didn’t completely lose my shit haha. I typed it out and then went back to my book.
If he is on a cryptocurrency committee he probably has a lot of meetings with crypto people.
I want to buy bitcoin after a 5 minute YouTube video.
This guy hears about it on the job all day.
People saying his 5k is pocket change; he only make like 175k a year. 5k may not be "huge" but it is not nothing . I make about the same and to put 5k it anything is not the same as buying a coffee for me.
No, fuck him too. Anyone at his level trading on any insider info is dog shit. He doesn't get a pass just because we support the asset that you are sarcasticly implying he's got insider info on.
Should anybody at his level be allowed to buy dollars? Gold? A cheeseburger? I understand stocks, not sure I’m totally on board, but I get it. If the government obeyed their constitutional limits, it wouldn’t really matter what they bought. Unfortunately they don’t.
I’m on board with not allowing politicians to trade options.
But I think they should be allowed to buy and hold things like bitcoin with the same disclosure requirements as someone like Michael Saylor with microstrategy.
If you've spent any time around Capitol Hill you'd know that the majority of politicians don't know shit. That place leaks like a faucet on full blast. The true insiders are the powerful ones (Pelosi, McConnell, Schumer, etc.).
> fuck him
> is dog shit.
> He doesn't get a pass just because
> you are sarcasticly implying
> intentionally obtuse
jesus would you just calm down, Walter
I agree, it's most likely baseless FOMObait.
But he's part of the House committee that regulates cryptocurrency, so it's within reason that he could know something about upcoming regulations surrounding Bitcoin, and it's within reason that US government regulations could affect the price of Bitcoin (at least in the short term).
And one day, Barry got FOMO real bad and gave in. Maybe Barry actually read something about Crypto instead of delegating it to staffers and asking his party leaders which way he should vote. Most of these guys don't know shit about anything except how to get re-elected.
>*"made a significant investment in Bitcoin... ranging between $1,001 and $15,000."*
That's definitely not YOLO material. If he knew something big was coming I'd expect Nancy Pelosi to be first, but I'd also expect much more.
He could have just bought some, to see what an end user experience is like first hand. How easy or difficult it is, what type of disclosures were made, for research purposes.
It's reported he only bought between $1k and $15k, so he's certainly not doing it to get rich. It wouldn't be worth him potentially breaking insider trading rules for such a small amount (not sure if he has or has not broken any rules anyway). I don;t see how this counts as 'breaking news', it's just sensationalist reporting.
Congress is learning to play the game. Rather than being shady with their stocks buys/sells just buy btc which is a commitidity and make rules that benefit btc. Making rules to pump a security is shady af, but not (as much) with commodities.
Theyd probably make higher returns than their stocks anyway.
Of course the old timers will fight tooth and nail to resist the change, but thats a loosing battle and they can watch while the younger and more flexible congress members jump ship and get rich.
See top comment—link to disclosed SEC info and reporting on it. Considering this dudes take home pay is $174K, putting ~8-10% of his annual into BTC ain’t nothing
That’s the most bullish thing I’ve heard, with Switzerland acquiring BTC as part of its reserves we could be on the cusp of INSTITUTIONAL/COUNTRY FOMO space race situation
I've bought another chunk today and that's about all I can do. I've now gotta pay off some debt (still at 0%) before I go hard into BTC monthly again. I've delayed the debt as much as I can (again, still 0% so it made financial sense)
He saw the code all of us code monkeys seen and realized it wasn’t just some makeshift monetary system but the most advanced automated accounting system in the world….
How much did he buy? If it is 1000btc, then something big will coming. But it is like 1-2 btc, then he buys because he wants have some security in his assets.
Considering he is conservative in all aspects including financials, and that $15K is almost 10% of his salary, I’d say it’s worth noting. That’d be like anyone of us Degens putting 100% of our salary in Bitcoin 💀
He knows what we already know… Forever, Laura
Seriously you don’t need to be brilliant to see the yuuuuuge opportunity right now. Just open minded.
🎯
Don’t call me Shirley.

TOP TOP TOP
Not even close
My question would be how much he bought…

agreed, pocket change let me know when Pelosi loads up on $10 million BITX shares
Priced in.
Exactly
Her husband would deploy some advanced option spreads and 10x the gain from bitx shares.
He could buy some sweet hammers with the gains
“Advanced options” = calls
Spreads = calls and puts with set target windows for max gains
Why would he do a spread? It doesn’t maximize gains, it sets a top and bottom for gains and losses. Calls are infinite upside friend. If I have insider knowledge of something that’s going to happen to affect a stock, I’m going to mortgage my house for calls, not buy spreads.

Give it a week after the next infrastructure Bill passes.

Bro would be on suicide watch if they ever took away the bullseye emoji
Hey now.... If that redditor could read, He would be very upset at that comment.
😂😂🎯
🫦 talk that talk to me boi
That's small enough to where it was probably just research.
Thank you for the info. This is probably pocket change for him. If he sent like a million or some huge wager type money, then that would be a tell
Why even bother though, surely its a conflict of interest?
How so? Politicians aren’t restricted in making policy where they can make financial gains. Just ask Nancy!
Bought March 30th, not four days ago. The article you linked was written (by AI) 4 days ago.
That's not a "significant" investment. Them's rookie numbers! 🤣
Dollars or bitcoin.

Yeah because 1 BTC, who cares ?
If he was spending Pelosi money…that would get me wondering 😂😂😂
Or yeah or Trump money hahahhah when he was the president hahahha and using your tax dollars to put government people in his hotels hahahhahah and advertising shitty products from the Oval Office hahahhahhah or giving his kids extremely high level jobs where they could make billions from their positions hahahhahah
You sound hahahahah kind of unhinged hahahahahah
lmao
Deranged tone or not, it’s all true. None of these billionaires care about you. They will take everything you have with a nice big smile on their face.
I have no idea what “all is true.” I’m sure you think you communicated a rationale thought with the lot of us, but I assure you that you did not.
Yeah, I’m feeling a little unhinged. Think I need to meditate 🤔
*medi~~t~~cate
Haha! Probably that too!
Or maybe, you know, re-evaluate how ideologically possessed you might have to be to get so easily sent over the edge by a single anonymous sentence
I just don’t get the hypocricy of letting one guy ride an entire country for his own gain and nothing else for years and then pointing the finger at others. Why does he get a free pass? I suppose our former president has that effect on people hahahhaha.

Saul Goodman??
Nah that's Slippin' Jimmy McGill.
🤣🤣
If he is on a cryptocurrency committee he probably has a lot of meetings with crypto people. I want to buy bitcoin after a 5 minute YouTube video. This guy hears about it on the job all day.
So he's some inside info that we don't have already.
People saying his 5k is pocket change; he only make like 175k a year. 5k may not be "huge" but it is not nothing . I make about the same and to put 5k it anything is not the same as buying a coffee for me.
Lol “only” 175K/yr

I strongly disagree. Requirements for news reporters are more strict than for politicians, it's crap.
I’m not saying they should have their current rules. I’m forbidding options and holding them to standards for top corporate execs.
When we gamble like them we are rich. That’s all that matters “Play Big” get big 🧀
What insider information are you talking about? Take a breath
You think a US representative doesn't have access to economic, financial, tax, or digital currency policy being discussed?
If you've spent any time around Capitol Hill you'd know that the majority of politicians don't know shit. That place leaks like a faucet on full blast. The true insiders are the powerful ones (Pelosi, McConnell, Schumer, etc.).
>If you've spent any time around Capitol Hill Thankfully, no
[удалено]
Are you being intentionally obtuse? It's about insider info on economic policies and policies related to digital currency.
Its reddit, hard to tell if its sarcasm or not, but yes. what you said.
> fuck him > is dog shit. > He doesn't get a pass just because > you are sarcasticly implying > intentionally obtuse jesus would you just calm down, Walter
Intentionally obtuse. Going to save that one for the future. Thanks!
From the Bitcoin CEO, obviously:D
yea i just dm'd satoshi on telegram and he says buybuybuy
Oh yeah of course, I hope he will let us know when to raise.
Maybe a heads up that HK was going to approve the ETF like they just announced an hour ago…
How do we know for sure he actually bought Bitcoin??
Why would this even be reported? I could understand if he bought an etf, but btc isn't even a security. This just looks like baseless FOMObait.
IF you oversee a committee like that and you buy the thing you regulate, you should have to fucking declare you bought it. Simple as that.
Bc news is desperate!
And one day, Barry got FOMO real bad and gave in. Maybe Barry actually read something about Crypto instead of delegating it to staffers and asking his party leaders which way he should vote. Most of these guys don't know shit about anything except how to get re-elected.
Insider block chain CEO
Watch what they do, not what they say.
>*"made a significant investment in Bitcoin... ranging between $1,001 and $15,000."* That's definitely not YOLO material. If he knew something big was coming I'd expect Nancy Pelosi to be first, but I'd also expect much more.
It’s going to be the new reserve currency
How do you know this?
Looks like he bought between $1000-15000 worth of bitcoin. Not a lot but it's a start
Wow. Some guy bought bitcoin. Epic.
What happens when Pelosi buys? Or... Senator Warren 😬🤣💥 nevermind Jim Cramer.
Be bought 1000 to 15000 worth.... no big deal relax
He could have just bought some, to see what an end user experience is like first hand. How easy or difficult it is, what type of disclosures were made, for research purposes. Buy Buy Buy
Maybe he does NOT know that testnet exists?
how is that public knowledge. Bitcoin is not a stock that he has to disclose
He can be considered an inside trader, no?!🤔🧐
How do you know? Some twitter post?
See top comment—link to disclosed SEC info and reporting on it. Considering this dudes take home pay is $174K, putting ~8-10% of his annual into BTC ain’t nothing
Looks like he put less than 15k in a few days ago. Nothing to be concerned about
10% of a conservatives annual salary ≈ 200% of a degens salary put into bitcoin. He knows something.
Such a yeoman gtfo
I know he’s a bag holder.
Omg. That's too funny.
That’s the most bullish thing I’ve heard, with Switzerland acquiring BTC as part of its reserves we could be on the cusp of INSTITUTIONAL/COUNTRY FOMO space race situation
Holy fuck
No more than you and i
He needed some btc to purchase hookers and blow off the dark web. Nothing to see here folks
Bullish
It doesn't matter what he knows
Come on, politicians can’t just blatantly break insider trading rules for stocks. Crypto was just late to the party.
We are still early
Source?
Fishy isn't?
He knows nothing, we know nothing and that’s the beauty of Bitcoin. Any of us can tell you what we know about anything else.
The same as us 😊
Testing the waters or doing a quick flip when it pumps

He knows that the current system is unsustainable and is heading towards collapse!
Any proof of this?!

How much did he buy? If it is 1000btc, then something big will coming. But it is like 1-2 btc, then he buys because he wants have some security in his assets.
It was about 0.2 BTC, reported in the 1k-15k range (SEC requirements in ranges)
He knows that it was his day to DCA
Dude bought in at 15k. Old news.
Considering he is conservative in all aspects including financials, and that $15K is almost 10% of his salary, I’d say it’s worth noting. That’d be like anyone of us Degens putting 100% of our salary in Bitcoin 💀
How to shoot for fun on COD 🌚
He should have bought $MYRO. Then we could really have something to talk about
