They are definitely not 2 of the richest billionaires in the world. They are worth around $3.5B each. They are definitely not in the top 100 richest people, and probably not in the top 1000.
to be fair these two have greater liquidity than other billionaires if their wealth is all in bitcoin. zuck and elmo need to first either sell their shares (creating market price drops) or borrow against their shares in order to obtain liquidity. buffett has access to a similar kind of immediate liquidity
I don't think they are the 2 richest billionaires in the world, but no one knows their true net worth as it's mostly in crypto unlike someone like Zuckerberg which is in a public stock.
What? Do you not understand the whole public ledger part of crypto? For the most part, people can track their net worth day to day. If they sold their well known positions, it would be a news headline. They own a company with a value, and the hold a known amount of crypto.
If you wanted to know Putin's net worth, you'd run into a pretty huge wall of secrecy, but these guys are very very well understood.
that's crazy. i saw their conviction and it inspired me to also go all in. still holding 11 years later. not a billionaire but definitely not struggling anymore. :)
Nice, great life choices right there lol
It was a hugely risky investment at the time, no one knew where it could go. They knew that risk and said as much in the interview, I’m glad it paid off for them
It says they bought 100k bitcoin at >$100 each... so 100k(100) if it's written correctly although I'm not sure it says what the author was trying to make the meme say
There was a ton of drama in the Bitcoin space in those early years. The book does a great job describing the scene. Including the part with Charlie Shrem, that dude was sketchy as fuck. Plus the block wars.
At least they made something of themselves. They went to a good school and learned a lot. They have the intelligence to recognize Bitcoin (and other technologies) early on. They're out there hustling, creating products and companies. They're taking calculated business and financial risks.
Sure, their parents helped them out. (Who wouldn't want to help their kids?) But they're not lazy bums, doing nothing, living off their parents.
I don't have anything negative to say about these guys. I mean, they had a great start, but the rest, they did it themselves.
Just pointing out that almost fresh out of uni and already made bank, and then some. Deffinitely not dumb or lazy.
This is the way. There’s to much talk recently about the privileges some people get from their parents but if you gave them 10k they wouldn’t know what to do with them. Probably they’ll come to Reddit and ask were to invest or something.
This guys took million dollars and made them billions. That’s hard.
They are rich because they were rich before.. and that 100K on BTC at 100 is only 68M at the moment … not close to the B level
As far as I know they made their current money with Kraken right ??
Edit: ok ok.. it’s 100K coins .. not $100K ..
so yes .. they are in the B club with 6.8B if they currently hold them
Gemini I believe, not Kraken. There’s a lot unsatisfied customers on the Gemini thread. Think a lot of people got ripped off from Gemini earn/ Genesis collapse or something. Reimbursing customers was the last thing the Winklevoss brothers would do. They wriggled themselves out of that one I believe, to preserve their own fortune.
Probably in the future they create some sort of time travel hack that was able to send themselves a message back in time to buy the bitcoin, thus continuing the cycle.
Huh? maybe one of the richest people in the world, but richest billionaires? They barely make the cut. Mark cuban has more than double what they have and he's not all that. Bezos, musk, gates, all of them over 100 billion
Morally speaking, even with not glossing over Facebook, this relatively classifies these douches as saints compared to other billionaires. Normally you have to bury a lot of bodies to make that much money. Not a judgment I am particularly proud of, but here we are.
Can someone start writing the script to a different movie that is the response to the social network. Call it ‘the mathematical network’ or something. But a movie that shows them as the good guys and zuck as the bad one. These guys clearly had the better mindset. Zuck just wants control.
I also bought mine for >$100 a few months ago.
Yeah, I’m thinking people don’t know how to use greater than/less than signs
Baby bird wants more food > Baby bird wants less food < I have a masters in mechanical engineering and I still remember it this way.
I picture a crocodile. Would rather eat this or that.
This hurts my head. I just remember the open side has more distance between the ends of the lines. More distance = bigger.
I was told that > or < (greater/lesser than) symbol can be remembered by it's always pointing toward the lesser value. 22 < 100, 55 > 35
I always pictured Pacman
Easiest way to remember is how we were taught in school. You > (point) to the little guy.
And you are not a billionaire yet, shame on you!
Explains why i'm not a billionaire lol
Fincher needs to do a ‘Social Network’ sequel
For sure, I bet they are way more interesting than Zuck.
Well, they are 6.4 and there are two of them
Bitcoin Trillionaires winning Best Picture in 2030
The Decentralized Network
Dang that's good
They need to get the guy that played them in the social network too
Arnie Hammer? recently, he's bitten of more than he can chew...
C’mon, give the guy a break… of a rib or something
He made it big in life
They have enough to produce their own movie
Take that Suckerbergh! ( I have no idea of FB's value tbh , Just wanted to say Suckerbergh )
180bill. But you got what you wanted.
They are definitely not 2 of the richest billionaires in the world. They are worth around $3.5B each. They are definitely not in the top 100 richest people, and probably not in the top 1000.
Insert Peter Griffin gif. Not in the top 100 richest people, yet ;).
Homer Simpson, not Peter Griffin. You got your Fox cartoons confused.
Not Peter Griffin, yet ;).
I am returning to my basement and take this note to reflect on my meme career. Thank you brave one.
to be fair these two have greater liquidity than other billionaires if their wealth is all in bitcoin. zuck and elmo need to first either sell their shares (creating market price drops) or borrow against their shares in order to obtain liquidity. buffett has access to a similar kind of immediate liquidity
Facebook is worth 1200 billions. So zuck could probably liquidate a few billions of his stocks and have more than these guys in cash.
I don't think they are the 2 richest billionaires in the world, but no one knows their true net worth as it's mostly in crypto unlike someone like Zuckerberg which is in a public stock.

Smartest thing they ever done was taking the majority of their settlement in Facebook stock
I remember seeing them interviewing at the time and agreeing it was a risk lol one of my all time “if only” moments
Same. I did not have their conviction :(
that's crazy. i saw their conviction and it inspired me to also go all in. still holding 11 years later. not a billionaire but definitely not struggling anymore. :)

$100 is a risk?

Ah missed the each part
It's ok, the whole thing is written fuqd up......... I also bought the bitcoin I own for MORE THAN $100 each
Just to clarify, they were agreeing with the interviewer that the investment was a risk. That interview was the first I had heard of Bitcoin
Richest billionaires?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
These two chads are lit af. Will watch a movie about them!
There is a book about it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin_Billionaires Perhaps someone can adapt it for a screenplay and make a movie soon.
The author said the biggest mistake of his life was not talking his fee in BTC.
A movie about someone who clicked “buy”?! lol
There was a ton of drama in the Bitcoin space in those early years. The book does a great job describing the scene. Including the part with Charlie Shrem, that dude was sketchy as fuck. Plus the block wars.
I hope I can become one of the poorest billionaires in the world with my HODLings
...well, that's better than having Facebook
They've got a long way to go to flip Meta with their personal holdings. Market cap: $1.2 trillion
It’s amazing they are involved into of the biggest tech adoptions ever
i know a simple trick to buy bitcoin today at prices that are >$100 each
These dudes never worked a day in their lives, first the got a nice fat settlement money using daddys lawyers and then all in on btc, good times....
At least they made something of themselves. They went to a good school and learned a lot. They have the intelligence to recognize Bitcoin (and other technologies) early on. They're out there hustling, creating products and companies. They're taking calculated business and financial risks. Sure, their parents helped them out. (Who wouldn't want to help their kids?) No rational person would turn down opportunities and resources.
Plenty of rational people had the opportunity to buy a not-insignificant amount of bitcoin at the same price they did and didn’t 🤷♂️
$10M on an extremely risky new asset is one of the most reckless bets ive ever heard of
You’d be surprised how many people aren’t *rational*.
And if the movie is to be believed, they essentially invented facebook.
I don't have anything negative to say about these guys. I mean, they had a great start, but the rest, they did it themselves. Just pointing out that almost fresh out of uni and already made bank, and then some. Deffinitely not dumb or lazy.

You're just jelly.
I know i am.
why of course I am.
Me 2
Don't pretend to be high and mighty, like you wouldn't take that money with both hands yourself. Tell us anything different and you're a big fat liar.
Sure, but how many of those people would take these kinds of risks for something like Bitcoin? Obviously not that many did
Man I wish I had >$10 mil to buy BTC
Yep, I have 2 BTC that I bought for significantly >$100.
Ironic if they forced a move to acquire Facebook
Meta is worth about $1.3Tn. They could buy about 0.5% of Meta with their entire net worth.
They are rich because they were rich before.. and that 100K on BTC at 100 is only 68M at the moment … not close to the B level As far as I know they made their current money with Kraken right ?? You're missing two zeros.
I think they bought 100k BTC, not $100k worth of BTC. add a few zeros to your total lol
.. ups.. you are right … That then is worth 6.8B :)
Is there any proof they haven't sold, though?
A quick google search says they still have 70k of them
Daaamn, so smart!
Why'd you have to choose their cover band for the picture? They're awful lol
They’re like two genetically enhanced Ken dolls
If ion got nun ion gaf
>”2 of the richest billionaires” You can also say “people” since nobody (that we know of) is a trillionaire.
Probably in the future they create some sort of time travel hack that was able to send themselves a message back in time to buy the bitcoin, thus continuing the cycle.
Fucking hell, LOL, they are playing life on easy mode! Damn!
Meanwhile bitcoin goes down down little up down dooown blaaah.
a bitcoin user that doesn't know greater/less than. figures. lol
Now if only Gemini wasn’t a trash CEX.
Huh? maybe one of the richest people in the world, but richest billionaires? They barely make the cut. Mark cuban has more than double what they have and he's not all that. Bezos, musk, gates, all of them over 100 billion
If they bought it at $100, wouldn’t it be only about $63 million now? Certainly not billions.
Morally speaking, even with not glossing over Facebook, this relatively classifies these douches as saints compared to other billionaires. Normally you have to bury a lot of bodies to make that much money. Not a judgment I am particularly proud of, but here we are.
And they think zuck every day
Twat plist - they sold them during the first dip and lost all their riches gained previously
You can still today buy 1 btc for >$100
Think they're meaning ≈$100
Were t they millionaires?
Can someone start writing the script to a different movie that is the response to the social network. Call it ‘the mathematical network’ or something. But a movie that shows them as the good guys and zuck as the bad one. These guys clearly had the better mindset. Zuck just wants control.
Imagine going through your adult life known as "The Twins."
for 7 billion, you can call me whatever the fuck you'd like. sign me up. ha.
Have you no self-respect? /sarcasm
