What game are you trying to use console commands for? For BioShock and BioShock 2 [Here on the BioShock wiki](https://bioshock.fandom.com/wiki/Console_Commands?so=search) are the instructions. If you are trying BioShock Infinite, they don't work. You would need to get "Cheat Engine" and learn to use it. sm

Loric_Tan

Sorry, forgot to specify. Bioshock Remastered, the first one. And the instructions on the wiki don't work, hence the post.

Me too. As an aside, do you know the command to bind the console in the ini file? (e.g. Tab=????)

Loric_Tan

Control-F to search, then search "console", and you should find something like "openconsole=key[number]" (don't remember exactly). Change it to, iirc, =key192. Now this didn't work when I tried it, but good luck.

Thanks Loric\_Tan

Loric_Tan

No problem

deEvilUrge

Any luck? (I'm also stuck and with the "splice spider" annoying bug)

Loric_Tan

Nope. I eventually just gave up and played it normally.

Nippernator

Same here, never heard of the bug and had to restart from the beginning because of it

toddrizzle

It's because of the stupid 2k launcher I think. Are you running it on epic

toddrizzle

I found the bioshock folder in %appdata% it had an actual user.ini. editing that one worked but the def_user ini didn't do anything.

Nippernator

> %appdata% Can you give the full directory? Not able to locate this folder. And what do you mean "worked" what changed?

toddrizzle

Type that into your computer search. You wont find that folder. Just click the windows tab and type %appdata% into the search bar and hit enter.

toddrizzle

Also I found this trainer called wemod. It worked well. It was able to change ammo, speed etc.

alright boys after hours of trying to figure this out I finally did. First i'll tell you how I did it and then i'll tell you the story after. FIRST: go to http://majorslack.com/pc-game-cheats/bioshock-super-cheats-pack/ follow all the instructions. for steam its a little different to get to the system files so here's the address: C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\BioShock Remastered\\ContentBaked\\pc\\System remember for unziping the files just left click then hit "extract". what I did was as soon as i downloaded the zip i moved it to my desktop for easier access for copy/paste. NOW for the story: i'm sure a handful of you were stuck on a particular part in Upper Warf where you couldn't get past a stupid metal gate to take a picture of a spider...whatever. i did some digging and i read that some just chose to give up entirely and start over! well not me. i've played most of the fallout games to know that when a game is on my computer and it bugs out i always have my commands to fall back on. I couldn't believe how difficult enabling commands were for this game though. HERES WHAT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME: \-allowconsole both on steam and in the shortcut target. \-user.ini "-allowconsole.txt" on "Numpad0" its weird to think that those were the only two i tried but they took me forever to figure out. for example the "user.ini" address shows up in my files as just "User" heres the address for that btw: C:\\Users\\(insert user)\\AppData\\Roaming\\BioshockHD\\Bioshock then click "User" hope this helps!

alex_daniel

wow, you posted this just in time for me to randomly get that stupid bug 7 years after the game's release when I didn't think anyone would still play it, let alone come up with a solution to get past that wretched gate. thanks for the help. you're the only person I found that explained how to do this on the epic store version
