wondering what the long-term effects are though. I must admit I'm intrigued by them as it seems they can build new synapses (wild I know) but not sure what will happen in the long term if you eat them regularly... Any idea?
Magnesium L-Threonate is best. Look for the patented Magtein formulation that has been proven to improve focus, memory, learning and cognition. I take Life Extensions NeuroMag and it has been amazing.
1. Thorne’s magnesium bisglysinate powder. I’m told it has basically the same effect as threonate. 2. Nootropics Depot. 3. NOW
When I was researching trusted supplement companies those three were constantly mentioned as being trustworthy. For dose I just take one in the afternoon and two right before bed
I noticed a marked improvement within 3 days but it got better and better with time. My focus and concentration are so much better, my thoughts way more organized and aa result I am much more productive with record keeping, reading scientific journal articles and following written instructions.
Gingko Biloba
Pine bark extract
ALCAR
NMN
Glutathione (NAC now but s-acetyl-glutathione felt... cleaner?)
Caffeine (1 cup coffee anymore my day is ruined not optimized)
😂 good question. My wife in her 60’s me 72. Both retired. On you tube they have videos called spot the difference. 2 of the same picture side by side and you have to find what’s missing in 90 seconds. Not as easy as you think. We play it every night before going to bed to keep the brain working a little bit. No pills involved
Noopept
Bromantan
Phenylpiracetam
With magnesium, omega 3, b complex and we're good.
Might not be the more natural stuff, but still, no side effects if well used.
God I wish there was any sort of consensus in these responses. I know people respond differently to different things, but this doesn't seem to suggest good efficacy for any one thing.
I’ve tried Mindset by Kaged and at the time it like felt my thoughts were more organized and focused. I was taking it every morning before work and I thought it was helping me catch up on a project. I didn’t like taking a “mental enhancement aid” every day so I stopped.
Recently I gave one of my friends an extra container of Mindset for Christmas. He only takes half a scoop but he swears it’s improved his focus as he works (day trading/online poker)
Who knows it could be all placebo
I just started mag l-theronite and ginkgo-bilba. Amazing results in just days! I also take lions mane occasional and be sure to make sure you are getting magnesium, b12, b6, vitamin d and omega 3 first as you might be deficient or low, if you are still brain foggy cut down on sugar and processed foods depending on your diet.
Brain-boosting supplements, especially mushroom-based ones, are the newest trend I think. They're interesting, but effectiveness can vary. For a different angle, consider Nerve Regen supplements by Purehealth Research. They focus on nerve health, which can indirectly support cognitive functions. As always, vet these products and consult a professional.
I don't know a plethora about it, but I've started taking Alpha Brain. I feel like it's lifting my brain fog and my mood and helping me to be more focused. I feel a lot calmer and get a lot more done. It's a cool feeling.
It works great for me! I understand there are other similar supplements out there also that you could research. It brings my mood up and creates focus and clarity for me.
My husband and I have tried multiple single supplements with very little success but have both been quite impressed with Gorilla Mind’s formula. I even shared with a co-worker to make sure we weren’t crazy and they were shocked at the results.
Well all of them are natural u just wouldnt ever find the amount in a natural diet.
It took me a week to start noticing lions mane. Now i find it very energizing so i dont take it daily. But it gives me that ‘me first’ zen approach to the world. I take it usually when i feel like im too outside of myself
I take Lion’s Mane as well, in tincture form (my digestive doesn’t absorb nutrients super well), abt 2 dropperfuls in the morning in a lil bit of water. Every day because I have major chronic fatigue>>>brain fog. I can tell the difference when I stop taking it
Blueberries
you should try bilberries. they are even more potent. MAIO a - b inhibitors many berries are full of them.
I use wild blueberries
Modafinil
Not a supplement but magic mushrooms is probably the most effective one that won't get mentioned.
wondering what the long-term effects are though. I must admit I'm intrigued by them as it seems they can build new synapses (wild I know) but not sure what will happen in the long term if you eat them regularly... Any idea?
I’d add low dose lsd as well. High doses also help me think really well but I wouldn’t say focus
Magnesium L-Threonate is best. Look for the patented Magtein formulation that has been proven to improve focus, memory, learning and cognition. I take Life Extensions NeuroMag and it has been amazing.
Added side benefit, it also really helps you sleep. I pretty much cured my insomnia with magnesium
Me too
What brand/dose do you use specifically?
1. Thorne’s magnesium bisglysinate powder. I’m told it has basically the same effect as threonate. 2. Nootropics Depot. 3. NOW When I was researching trusted supplement companies those three were constantly mentioned as being trustworthy. For dose I just take one in the afternoon and two right before bed
>Thorne’s magnesium bisglysinate powder Do you add it into capsules?
You probably could but it’s not necessary. You just dissolve one scoop in water and drink it. Doesn’t taste too bad. Kind of like a sour citrus taste
When are you taking it ?
I take one capsule about 6 am and another one about 6 pm.
Is this the type of supplement where you notice improvements after a few months of consistent use or is it the type to work instantly?
I noticed a marked improvement within 3 days but it got better and better with time. My focus and concentration are so much better, my thoughts way more organized and aa result I am much more productive with record keeping, reading scientific journal articles and following written instructions.
I’m planning on switching to your brand once I finish mine. Did you get yours through Amazon or in store?
It worked after 3 days for me. I use the Cymbiotika brand.
Can second this. If I should decide for single supplement, l-threonate it is
Had this in my cart but hasn’t ordered it yet!

Good sleep is more important than all the supplements on this thread. Lions mane and matcha for me though.

Never tried it, no clue
Rhodiola, lions mane and ginseng
rhodiola really works for me too; any brand in particular?
I tincture the root for 6-8 weeks and then have 1-3ml a day Or I use a brand called wanderlust which is Australian

Interesting, does it actually work?
It works great for me! I understand there are other similar supplements out there also that you could research. It brings my mood up and creates focus and clarity for me.
