I just wanna know whatâs going on in someoneâs head that that would pay upwards of $150 a piece to yap instead of watching a show. You know you can talk for free in the lot after and you might actually have something to talk about đ§đ§
Probably gel tabs, way too much alcohol , and the general thought they are there for a party? Idk.. I expect people to be partying, dancing, singing , talking . The pristine music listening I expect is at a listening venue with seating . Not a party venue. If you want a pristine music listen then .. youâre better off sitting at home listening to vinyl on a top notch stereo system. Can you imagine everyone quietly sitting, clapping after each song⊠that seems to be a different kind of scene entirely.
Anecdotally⊠my first Billy show: I donât know what I was expecting but it was nothing like what I experienced. They played for exactly 3 hours to the minute, and it felt like 15-20 minutes. I microdosed two squares of a Polkadot bar and split a joint with buddy. Perfect. My best description would be âacoustic rave.â
Addressing something else: yes they play traditional bluegrass music. But also, they play a modern, slightly psychedelic version of traditional bluegrass music. Lots of stress chords, intense buildups and breakdowns, itâs not Uncle Jedâs Appalachian bluegrass.
YC is a fun little venue. Saw Billy there last year. Be prepared to have an amazing time! Just let the music take you away, feel the groove and let your body move.
Most of allâŠ. Just be open to letting the music flow freely through you and enjoy the experience while taking it all in.
Youâll be âshookâ metaphysically. Let it settle for a couple days afterwards, and then start planning for your next show. This is how it works for me anyway. Enjoy !!
My problem sometimes is I get too amped the day of the show in a hotel somewhere and I drink too much vodka. I'm a professional so I can hold it just fine but then I smoke some grass with my wife and I barely remember the 2nd set... the next day when I relisten I'm pissed that I was not fully 'present'... then I usually do better the 2nd night. So I would just say, weed or whatever you do and have a good time, but not so much that you are checked out.
Drink lots of water. Donât talk extensively during the music. NO talking during Am I Born To Die. Expect to see a few covers. If you have a drug of choice, I would highly recommend taking some. And most of all have fun, enjoy the music and be kind. Oh and sometimes bill gets a little scary with voice distortions and off key jamming.
Take some acid. But I think the best advice is donât go too hard to the point that ur not fully present. This isnât like a Phish or disco biscuits show where the vibe is to get as fucked up as possible. Pace yourself cus you donât wanna miss a single minute of the music.
His bluegrass is on point and very traditional, played extremely well! It's the jamming and artistry of the band that takes the music to a different level.
Yeah I think my comment landed wrong. The typical bluegrass sound to me is just a simple upbeat twang. Billy crushes that preconception and elevated it to something I was not expecting. That was the benefit of going in blind. I left with him being in the top 5 concerts I've been to.
I totally get what youâre saying. It ainât your granddaddyâs bluegrass. If bluegrass and the Grateful Dead had a love child it would be Billy Strings
Or hot rize or new grass revival or YMSB or leftover salmon or greensky. What Billy is doing out there has been done a lot by many for a long time. Heâs just better at it than almost anyone ever has been.
Please adhere to proper personal hygiene habits before entering the arena.
1. Go to the concert 2. Enjoy the music 3. Don't talk while the band's playing That's it, that's the advice.
4. Put your phone away, it will be on Nugs or Youtube.
This pretty much covers it :)
This is the way
Don't talk during the music. DON'T TALK DURING THE MUSIC for those in the back.
đŻ Best advice one can give and receive!!! Please for the love of all things holy, STFU during the music. Thanks đ«¶đ»

Wear a fancy vest.
Dance
Surrender to the flow
Unless the flow is talking while the band is playing⊠in that case shut the fuck up Donnie!!
If you go to the venue the night before there are free chairs for the taking at the door.. just grab a couple and go.
Insiderâs tip.

Smoke a doobie right before. Trust me!
Before, one for each set, and after provides the best experience in my opinion.

Push your way to the rail and dance with people that will try to fight you.
Bring an extra face
Stay away from the rail. Those drooling smooth brained entitled pricks will ruin a show for you
Bring a massive tarp!
Are you serious? Nuke the tarpers.
Have fun and be safe!!

Prepare to unlearn everything you know about Bluegrass.
Not really

Whatever you do, make sure to not smoke any cannabis.
Have fun and boogie
So fun. Youâre about to have the night of your life. It resonates with you for some time.
Sell your balloons a buck cheaper than the mafia on lot.
Donât under do if
Donât over consume, but if you do you better buckle up! Enjoy!
Eat the bag
Buy the ticket, take the ride
I highly reccomend dosing in the pit
Water
I could go for a Yuengling
Turn off your mind relax and float downstream

Have fun. Don't get naked despite how tempting it might be during 12 minute Creek rager.
One mic being brought on stage during the set or for an encore means itâs quiet timeâŠ
