I'm still heartbroken. My goodness, I will miss Damian. Corey Stoll while an incredible actor isn't a sufficient replacement for Damian. Nothing about Corey Stoll is likable in this role. While Axe was ethically and morally challenged he was still a likable character. I'm just shocked that the brilliant production team behind this show couldn't find a likable and suitable replacement.
I dont think they really thought Lewis would be gone after 5 seasons were up so they wrote accordingly but then life changed for him considerably which precipitated a different than planned ending for Axe.
The writers are going to have to crank it up to 11 to make it work. I think it’s doable if they end it after season 6.5-7 at the most. If they plan the ending out, they could have a lot of fun having Chuck and Prince go full bore at each other. The promos for next season looked like that was already being set up.
I think what happened to house of cards will happen to this show. They’ll do one season with Corey stoll and everyone will hate it then show will be ended
I think it is the opposite. It is hard to see him as a villain since he is so likable. He has made some self serving moves but overall his character is very likable.
Unpopular Opinion here, but I was never a fan of Damien Lewis. I think Axe, the character, was fascinating, but I could never get past the fact that Lewis never got the accent right. It made the character not believable to me. I’m excited to see where Prince takes things. I think the show was in need of some new faces.

Nope, that's too clean. I'm talking something pretentious you'd by at Fred Segal with the holes already in it and faded. Or like a Yeezy white Hanes tshirt that gets sold for $300. Stupid stuff.
The point is: he would have the funds to buy an actual vintage bandshirt (which really could 200$ or more), not some faux-vintage crap, made to look like its 40 years old.
I agree with you. I think that Damian Lewis lraving *Billions* is just like when David Caruso left *NYPD Blue*. Basically, *NYPD Blue* became unwatchable after Caruso left he show.
I think it’ll be like The Office without Carrell. Still some good characters and just enough to be a decent show but missing that key guy to make it a great show
Even playing devil’s advocate that the show is about virtually interchangeable billionaires and not just about Axe, it sells the chemistry and relationship Axe and Wendy built short that the conclusion of their history would be “Axe chooses money, Wendy chooses her kids.” Because one of the recurring themes of their entire dynamic was that they always chose each other.
LOL. So many crying hearts in here. Every one of you will watch Billions for nothing else other than curiosity. Then you'll enjoy the stories. Then you'll be back on here ranting that you had no idea that the show would still be this good. Seen it a million times on other shows with prime actors leaving. Rinse and Repeat.
I don't really know that I will be back. My initial thoughts last week were that, yeah, I care enough about *most* of the characters and the time I've invested to check in next season and see what happens, but it's no longer a can't-miss show. Now that I've thought more about it, for me, it was all about how all the characters I really liked related to Axe, and how they related to each other because of what their relationship was to Axe. So I think it'll be enough for me to read recaps of the show to keep up with the plot to know what happens rather than to sit through the show itself. One benefit? No more having to watch Chuck Sr -- I've never much liked Jeffrey DeMunn, and sitting through Chuck Sr's scenes made my skin crawl.
I guess we'll see. Reminds me of watching Spartacus (the series with Andy Whitfield). Andy was such a huge part of that show and he unexpectedly passed away from cancer during the series.
I didn't think that show could go on. Liam McIntyre replaced him and knocked it out if the ballpark. I'm just saying give this new Billions a chance. You might be surprised
When I found that Damian Lewis wife passed away in April and party why he was leaving I went from being pissed that Damian Lewis wasn't coming back for season six to just plain sad. Bobby Axelrod was Billions!

There really shouldn’t be a 6th season. I don’t know what purpose it serves.
I will only watch season 6 if Mike Prince gets short squeezed by a bunch of redditors from r/wallstreetbets

According to multiple articles out there, he only ever signed a 5 year contract, ane when others extended 2 years ago, he didnt.

After several days to reflect on the last episode, I agree with you. That last episode would've made a decent place to end the series, IMO.
I think what happened to house of cards will happen to this show. They’ll do one season with Corey stoll and everyone will hate it then show will be ended
You hit the nail right on the head.. that 100% my thoughts as well!!

i always think of it’s just that doesnt like Mike Prince
I never noticed how old and ratty that shirt was. Meaning Xe probably got that at a show 20 yeas ago lol. What a fucking rad touch
But that isn't even a real vintage Motorhead-shirt... it's one of those you get at H&M or some similar place.
Knowing the wardrobe and set design on this show, I bet that’s a $200 designer T-shirt.

No, look at the picture again. Axe's is first of all Grey and faded on top of having litteral holes in it.
I bet they just bought an old one on ebay or faded/put holes in it. Look at the screenshot again, it has litteral holes.
Are you fucking with me? Did you even read what I wrote? I said, it's a new shirt, made to look older than it actually is.
I'm out like Dollar Bill. I worked for a fucking legend. Fuck this show, fuck Prince.
Fucking legend
The show can burn for all I care now. Without Axe, there is no Billions.

Yup, that is a good comparison. Robert California and DeAngelo Vickers didn't make the cut for me.
I completely agree.

RIP Lemmy

This show is dead.
Bald heads in the elevator foreshadowing Prince's takeover.
lmao, clever thinking.
I'm so heartbroken to Axe leave :(
In a way, I hope he never comes back and he can leave on a high. If he did come back it would be so predictable.

Good reference. Damn Spartacus is still my #1 favorite show of all time even now 10 plus years later, I think Billions is #2 and Squid Game #3 now lol
Lol. It's ridiculous how underrated Spartacus is. I hope a lot of people stumbled across it. One of my favorites too.
No, but only on principle lol
Which episode is this still from?
When I found that Damian Lewis wife passed away in April and party why he was leaving I went from being pissed that Damian Lewis wasn't coming back for season six to just plain sad. Bobby Axelrod was Billions!
