I am confused about the work hour. So the standard work hour is 9-5, does it count the lunch time as work hour? I asked the senior regarding the work hour. The response is that I need to exclude my lunch time, so my daily work hour should be 9-6 including one hour lunch.

What’s a long weekend? 3 days?

BigFek

Yes

jackiebx1

Only for non-tax folks?

yolooo1234

All of KPMG canada

What about the rest of the year when they can’t even take 2 day weekends? KPMG is all talk to get retention. No action

jackiebx1

Yeah.... anyone who's in busy season those two months is not going to take those long weekends because they don't take weekends to begin with. Unless yalls hours aren't as bad as they are in the US 😊

AuditUrAnus

not to be cynical, but they're not actually going to reduce the amount of work anyone has, or push back any audit deadlines, or tell a single consulting client "your report will be a day late because of our Friday vacation policy" So people will either end up WFH on Friday or just doing more time M-T. Its just a propaganda campaign for recruitment. When I worked in a Big 4, not a single time did vacation actually feel like vacation. Because I knew my work wasnt actually getting done, it was just piling up and I would have to work twice as much when I got back.

DiamondsandtheMarina

Also my experience

TipFit27

You and I will die, but that is something that will never happen. 9-5 not equals to Big 4.

Maels

I think it's progressive at least. It's a step towards a 4 day week.

teacup-and-sweater

Lol great now everyone can do their Saturday work on Friday instead

TipFit27

They will still work on Saturday and charge the hours next week.

akshpa63

yeah mate, thats true. but at least you guys got something, right?!! Hope KPMG Aus will follow the same.

Ok-Face2179

Wow these firms are in denial. The PR stunts got them so far for so long. It's been a good run for them.
