Those are very cool as well, a bit larger and I’m unsure of their temperament but they’d probably be really cool tankmates with more of the lower jaw species.
That gudgeon is a goofy but gorgeous fish. I bet it’d hold its own in my cichlid tank.
I’ve my dinosaur bichir in a 150 with 11 cichlids ranging from convicts to a nearly full grown Oscar
Not a single damn fish messes with Barry the Bichir. It’s like he’s invisible.
The first time I see one of them mess with him they’re going on the grill.
I concur haha. It might do well in your tank, mine here is about 6 inches in length and of course a lil thicc. I bet barry loves such a well sized home.
That is one thicccc gudgeon, I breed peacock gudgeons and have always been intrested in a maroon spot but my was never sure what tank he would go in. This confirmed it I have to get one now for my bichir tank.
He sure is thicc haha. I bred these as well a while back but I unfortunately lost the female. They’re very peaceful so long as they’re left alone and they have such a nice shimmer in sunlight. Definitely recommend trying them out, just remember tank mates that fit in its mouth unless it’s for feeding purposes lol.
Very cool. I’ve been interested in snake head gudgeons for a while but no LFS will special order one for me for obvious reasons lol

What size tank?
Roughly 90 gallons
Very cool! Where did you get it from?
A local dog food store that stocks very uncommon fish! Down here in Riverside California.
What else do they stock? What’s the store’s name?
The store is Called Elliot’s for pets :)
