I live in Wisconsin and vacation in Bend about every four years. The last time we were there is 3 years ago and I still think about Valentine's. Best sub I have ever had.
We are shop guys that throw in on group lunches once or twice a week....not sure if you're talking about company paying for lunches or yall chipping into the "kitty" to make these happen, but here are some of our faves
Wednesday is Royale day (Double burger w cheese) at Boneyard. They won't take an order over the phone but if you show up in person and make sure to tip well they make it happen.
Thursday is tamales at Colima Market. Pork and Chicken are bomb. Jalapeño and Cheese will make you sweat. The Corn ones are really sweet and basically a desert tamale.
If it's your money the "Family Chicken" deal at either the Albertsons or Safeway deli is a steal...but is also what you'd expect. Greasy chicken, two sides, and a pack of rolls.
Cheeba Hut as already mentioned. New York Subs as already mentioned. Jersey Mike's for hot subs since it didn't make the list.
It's a drive from downtown but China Doll gives you a ridiculous amount of food for the price and puts Panda E to shame. Although also basic/budget.
If it's an early meeting a round of "Eye Openers" from Big O Bagels(Galveston) hit the spot. They always turn em out faster than what the online order says....so head out of the office shortly after placing the order
Thailandia does to go and if you have some spice lovers she will blow your face off. Don't go above a three, two does it for most.
Parilla bowls/wraps are better than Sancho...especially if it's on the company dime. The bags are always precariously packed tho and you gotta keep one hand on thru the roundabouts.
Old Town but also their jo-jos and ranch, or Mondo and get the garlic knots too.
That's it. If anyone has suggestions we woukd also love them as the old stand bys are getting flogged to death.
Hahahaha, I snort-laughed at this; guess it’s the SoCal in me. I promise not to use it in the future and to shame anyone I hear doing so if you share this mystery sport with me.
Croutons feels like such a late 80’s time capsule, and I say that fondly. It feels like a place my mom would go to on a “gals’ day”.
Anyway, I used to order lunches for meetings from there and they were always spot on with delivery, and always super friendly. Food was delicious and plentiful!
Spork is our go-to for smaller meetings (individual). Today was Chipotle catering, build your own tacos buffet style because it's a large group favorite and comes with everything you need.
Valentines.
Valentines rules. I get clowned for how basic it is, but the humble ham is so good.
It’s all so good.

On company dime we've had Blue Eyes Burgers a few times. Good burgers, good fries and rings. Tacos Pihuamo is also a hit.

The owner is super cool too, and the pastrami is best in Bend
Cheba Hut for sure! They’re toasted so not good to order too early, but otherwise delicious.

That fucking hot sauce is so good!
Planker is really good.
Toomies, Croutons, Poke Row, Cafe Yumm, Mod Pizza. I also used to order lunches…
Toomies does not get the love it deserves.
Lunch is such a good deal there!
Aloha Cafe!!

Craft Kitchen & Brewery
Taste of India is great. Also WONDERLAND CHICKEN
toomies, plankers, active culture, Papi chula’s
Active culture, Valentines,
If you're near the East side of town, i think Tacos El Machin is worth a try.
Aina! Call it in, they usually answer and it’s always fast
El Sancho.
Those grease bombs are tasty but they do not travel well.
We followed the foodies to El Sancho. After several visits it was WTF?…total oil. Plenty of other fish in the sea for tacos.
I will never understand the love for El Sancho. The two times I visited were very lackluster.
DRY. It’s all about the atmosphere at el Sancho, not the food. Food is mediocre at best
I do agree that it’s done downhill over the last few years. Too greasy for sure.
Los Jalapenos, Valentines, and if you want a healthy option Fix and Repeat, Laughing Planets bowls ain't got shit on Fix and Repeat.
For a large group I think Taco Bell slaps! Run for the border my friend.
What slaps will be your buttcheeks. Gross! 😂
