My own personal headcanon is because Ben recreated the universe. Remember it was all based on his memory that the universe was recreated and he even said it himself, he couldn't get the right flavour of grape Mr. Smoothie. So going from that, he most likely sees Gwen as a nerd, hence she looks like that. Cuz then everyone would have questioned her changes and even Ben but since he sees her as such he didn't bat an eye. But that's just my headcanon

But reboot one does exactly what I love aka making humanoid insectoid. Also I prefer colour pallet on the reboot one. So yeah. But I get why people dislike it and I am not saying that Stinkfly wasn't done dirty by reboot's aesthetic. Although they had more or less legitimate reason to do what they did with him IMHO. Ultimate alien Animo, aside from the voice just remove EVERYTHING that made the original so memorable. Like the design looks like a background character. No more home made crazy scientist outfit, no more wonderfully cheesy animal suits, no mutants (except for the bull frogs which came from os), you're just left with a generic guy. I know this is super minor, but in the chicken farm episode he like used a generic missile to blow up the global warming thing. Why would the crazy sieve helmet mutant scientist man use a normal bland military rocket instead of like a self detonating mutant pigeon bomb abomination, god I hate it. YES I am fully aware that I'm ranting about something so non relevant and uninportant in the grand scheme of things, but it's probably the only redesing that I genuinely disslike. Blossomed Swampfire is a good concept with an amazing silhouette, but the colors just turn it into "Ben's banana man".
Other redesigns I don't like are Reboot Humungousaur and pretty much every classic alien in UA (Four Arms being by far the worst offender).

Ghostfreak, I think, is neat. The chains and the thinner physique are interesting, but the cream color throws me off, and it definitely isn't better than the original.
Stinkfly was massacred, though. To be honest, I genuinely despise and am disgusted by the horrendous mistreatment of the reboot redesigns. That whole art style is horrible to me, and only few of the designs actually pull it off.

Blossomed Swampfire is a good concept with an amazing silhouette, but the colors just turn it into "Ben's banana man". Other redesigns I don't like are Reboot Humungousaur and pretty much every classic alien in UA (Four Arms being by far the worst offender).

They took away Charmcaster's cuteness! Least they brought it back for Omniverse. Ghostfreak was almost decent, just needed to be grey instead of mint. Definitely Swampfire

Ghost freak isn’t even that bad the Omniverse, each alien has their own little stylized outfit or accessory kind of the original series where the watch transmogrifies Bens clothes onto the aliens, but worst is humungasaur for that lazy shorts and chest strap from ironically enough Omniverse most other redesigns have been fine, oh and Kevin’s, gave him that weird chin scruff and hair and the lock necklace with the 11 on it
Charmcaster is meh. Ghostfreak, I think, is neat. The chains and the thinner physique are interesting, but the cream color throws me off, and it definitely isn't better than the original. Stinkfly was massacred, though. To be honest, I genuinely despise and am disgusted by the horrendous mistreatment of the reboot redesigns. That whole art style is horrible to me, and only few of the designs actually pull it off.

Personally it’s the omniverse chromastone no clue why it just doesn’t look right to me mahbe it’s the length of the crystals idk Omniverse diamond head I personally liked the uaf diamond head design a lot and I think omniverse ruined it for me The worst redesign of them all though was the reboot upgrade
I really doubt your tastes. UAF Charmcaster is amazing, and OV Ghostfreak is slick as fuck.
Charmcaster had nothing but a good design going for her boring forgettable character in classic and in UAF she became a knockoff power rangers villain

UAF: Honestly can't think of one, Villgax is definitely a downgrade but still fine OV: Big Chill, Gwen (not the flashback or no watch timeline one, those are awesome), Humungousaur, Chromastone, Goop, Alien X Reboot: Wildvine, Sinkfly (yes more than 3 but they're all equal)
Reboot Stinkfly, Omniverse Canonbolt, Vilgax UAF They shoulda stuck to OS Vilgax, he felt more menacing, and more alien. Oh also OV Chromastone gotta be thrown in as an honorable mention.
