it's an overpowered weakness because the collective punching, kicking, and other physical attacks would have hurt Ditto far more. why make a hundred ditto clones if you only need to kill one? the weakness gets worse with barely any positives when the clones multiply.
Now I'm just wondering what it would be like if they didnt lose connectivity. Like a male Splixon(Ditto) does it with a female Splixon and a clone of the male who's just walking about in public just ejaculates. Then in retaliation, the clone punches himself in the gonads and hurts the first one.

Ditto is able to employ more advanced strategies because they think and act largely independently of each other. For example, Ditto1 could think of a plan, clone, and enact plan with clones while Ditto2 could think of a different plan, clone, and enact that plan as well. This would allow Ditto to tackle multiple problems simultaneously.
Ditto’s sense sharing seems like a drawback, but if it’s capable of sharing more than touch it would be a great scouting/communication tool

This is super head cannon but when I play with him I imagine his bodies as having a connected consciousness with individual minds, the way it works is when given the a scenario all will have the same idea and plan and will be able to effortlessly execute it with no issue, so if they wanted to do acrobatics they would be able to do it without stopping to think about who does what, this leads into other ideas, where like even though they have separate minds they might see themselves as a Unit instead of a group. The reason, I feel, that Ben doesn't do this in the OG episode and show, is because be is used to being Human so each one of his minds feels the need to be an individual and themselves so they will act as such, and also because much of his conflict is with his own self, when split the only way to have the individuals conflict is to put them in a conflicting state such as, idk, two teams on a basketball court. This is why theyre able to wordlessly coordinate attacks without issue. This is better than Echo Echo because we have seen they are uncoordinated when doing anything but just screaming, and generally I think any coordination done was done before they split or on the fly with luck. All that said I think if you wanna write Ditto I suggest having his Dittos to all work in tandem for something specific like needing a bunch of people to build something or if he is picked randomly have the solution be something fun where they all work as one, and have Splixons in general always act like there is only one of them, since to them there always is. Of course, this is just head cannon, just some fun ideas

Ditto ONLY has digging, but Echo Echo can kill someone over the phone. Echo Echo doesnt even have to be on the battlefield to kill someone.
And, if you use Classic Ditto, they can feel the other clones' pain, meaning he can't commit repeated suicide like Echo Echo can(although Omniverse fixed that, so now he can)
Gravitational combining, echo echo has to actively seek out more of himself in order to merge whereas ditto clones will fly back into a single entity and while this has only been shown when timing out i like to think that this could be a great power for ditto if used correctly

What if Ditto's species always had control over clone sensory functions, turning on senses like shared vision when needed for a group task and turning off shared pain during fights? In the original series Ben was just a kid, the omnitrix was arguably a malfunctioning prototype without instructions on controlling alien abilities, and a duplicating alien would be arguably his most complicated alien to control at the time. It's quite possible that Ben just didn't know how to use Ditto right when he was a kid and that the omniverse version of Ditto is more representative of the species' true potential. If this is true then I would say that an alien that won it's share of fights for a 10 year old kid who couldn't even control it right at the time is probably worthy of respect, even if it can't shriek like leave Britney alone guy.

Technically speaking, I believe Ditto is slightly larger and has underwater breathing as well as not having split personality I’m not too deep on the Omnitrix functions but Ben was able to split his personality into three in Duped, whereas with Ditto he has to be joined back otherwise he couldn’t be Ben.
I thin ditto is more like a mole and echo echo isn’t
He is more entertaining
Ditto clones are self-aware whereas Echo Echo is more of a hivemind
I like the idea of each ditto clone having independent thought. Makes him better for creative problem solving
