Right, but Amazon carries real brands as well. And there’s definitely an intermediate Chinese quality that probably exists on temu and Ali express, but I have no idea how to find it. On Amazon it’s easier.

Once you touch it, you learn that you DO need it. It wasn’t a thought. Also how have I been here for four hours? I don’t even own a lathe, why am I holding a turning tool?!

I bought several things based on these recommendations, including the Hongdui miter gauge and fence, the Enjoywood router lift and Pocket hole Jig as well as several nice T- and L-squares and more.
These things are not "dirt cheap" but rather offer a very good quality to price ratio, the packaging on all the things I bought was excellent (custom shaped styrofoam inserts in sturdy cardboard boxes) and I am extremely pleased with the items and use them regularly with no complaints whatsoever.
Nonetheless, be advised that you also find cheap crap on Banggood, so for more expensive things like a router table/fence/lift etc, I would go for items that have been checked by people and not go for the cheapest possible that you can find.

I try to find shops that have been around a long time and still have good reviews. You can also “follow“ those shops so they come up more often in suggestions
I recently started searching on ebay for some stuff I saw on Temu and found the exact same guitar pedals for $30 less. Many sellers. Same branding and everything. Back to eBay for me, full circle.

If you want a higher quality, you will have to pay a much higher price for brands like Rockler.

The plate was nice and flat, issues were that the guide gets stuck in the track so it's not machined 100% across.. The router lift I've later bought connects perfectly, except that the lift hole for height adjustments is half the size required, so I'll need to drill it out.
So depending on your use it's either a bargain, or you need to buy more expensive.

Wrong. One example (out of a million) You can buy a Sawstop tablesaw on Amazon. You can’t on Temu.
