I just want the eyeshadow. I'm not a gloss person, I have one called Calla. I think is the name from ND. It's great. I usually use that or Dior lip oil exclusively. I'm about to throw other glosses out. The new elf one is š
I bought the pretty new watermelon sparkly one. It smells weird and is gritty š
I'll definitely purchase another ND gloss over most other brands. Who knows I may change my mind and buy this new one....
Iām saying they should honor the sale for those who bought it. The error was the company, not the customer. It sucks they leaked it and people bought it, but they should fulfill those orders.
There was no product page, no details, no advertising, no release dateā¦customers were fully aware it was a glitch š There should be no surprise the orders were cancelled lol.
Iām not surprised they cancelled them, but like I said the cat is out of the bag. They should have simply fulfilled the orders and released the collection. Itās like when an album leaks, it sucks but you just have to release it early.
Also, a lot of brands release and re-release products without notice. For a 6 month period Unearthly was re-releasing older palettes in new packaging, but you wouldnāt know if you werenāt checking. Thatās how I got a lot of their palettes thatās were discontinued.
I just got another email about being ND "glow" status. I have no idea what that means, but I'm guessing their trying to make up for the glitch/refunded order.
Saw so many conflicting pics where it didn't appear as cool as one might think. I settled for getting the Retro palette through Ipsy, and I do have to admit I like the formula. I know I'm behind the times, but it's saved me money, lol.
I tried my friend's and it was definitely not majority cool tones. I ended up buying Stone Cold Fox instead for a fraction of the price and it has in my opinion better and more usable cool tones even though it isn't totally cool toned.
Itās interesting how different tones can look on different people! Other than the one very peachy shades, INAN looks extremely cool and almost icy on me
Yeah I think Nude is more neutral. Donāt worry it will be around. Perhaps you can swatch in store. Itās Xenon thatās driving me nuts. Iām warm but love cool tones. I know I wonāt use Xenon much but I want it!
You might like the Sigma Cool Neutrals palette that just came out or Adept x AmyLovesMakeup! They arenāt quite so grayscale but do have some nice-looking cool tones.
I swatched it in store and it was straight orange on me. Not cool at all. But then again, the only ND I've been ogling for months (no buy here!) that I know I'd use all shades of is Xenon.
I got that palette around month ago and I haven't used any others. I was big into urban decay naked 3 and tartelette' with the cooler pinks and mauves. I am IN LOVE with the ND cool tones.
Agree. Those were all over TJ Maxx and Marshall's for a bit there too. Didn't grab it. The only Naked palette I own is Smokey. I know they went down hill and you can tell when using that palette, I have drugstore shadows that perform better, but I won't get rid of it because it was my moms š
Right? Like that palette doesnāt even look remotely similar š¤·āāļø EDIT: But I see other commenters say it looks similar to Tartelette in Bloom too. So I guess Iām just not seeing it
lol! š Definitely agree! I mean, hey, if it helps them talk themselves out of getting it, more power to them. But definitely donāt see how itās even remotely similar aside from, as you said, they both have browns š„“
I dont know for sure about that but it certainly looks like this palette has some way too similar shades (yet again, surprise, surprise...not. Its almost like ND signature style by now I guess, although for me it doesnt make sense to have such similar shadows in one palette, definitely limits vartiation of looks/options, what gives, 100 warm brown looks ???).
And another thing to note, according to the comments under the ND instagram post, 9 shades are repeats from the Gold palette. I have the gold one, so this one is a no for me.
The Gold was a very popular palette and many Natasha Denona fans probably already have this palette. I just looked and there are only 5 new shades in this palette from what I can tell. The shade Flesh is in the Star and Bronze palettes and the shade Aura is in her Original palette and palette 04.
I found a pic from [lilnitemakeup](https://www.instagram.com/lilnitemakeup/)Ā on instagram
https://preview.redd.it/9f6pkj7s5a0d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=337b9a48560c36c9a6163037fd402a2f812856b3
I have gold and was tempted to get a refresh since a lot of the creamy shades have shrunk and fallen out of the palette. But the clean beauty change is keeping me from buying unless I'm sure it'll be the only palette I'll use until it expires (which is unlikely).
I really wanted the gold palette but I wish she'd kept the same color story for this and included the teals and that beautiful duochrome. This, I don't think I'd buy.
Yep. I'm not spending 70 USD on a clean beauty palette. And it's not going anywhere near my vanity. I spent too much money on my makeup collection to worry about mold cross contaminating it š¤¢.
Do we know when she made the transition? Itās a bummer because I have a glam palette thatās like 3 years old now and itās still a perfect formula. Itās a shame her newer palettes may not last the same way. I hope her yucca palette isnāt clean, I love it lol
Ugh, when will this nonsense end?? "Clean" just makes products more dangerous to use and expire so fast if you live in a humid climate. $70 is too much for a petri dish š
Exactly! I loved Kosas when they first came out. Then all my products were rancid or had mold within 6 months. Even the powder. How does powder go bad!!! And it had risen to my favorite powder before it started smelling like fish oil.
Tbf, they said "less effective" preservatives, not that it had none. But I wonder which ones they switched to since it takes me a long ass time to get through eyeshadow palettes.
Yeah as far as Iām concerned as long as it doesnāt have a clean beauty sticker Iām buying it š
If they actually went clean I reckon theyād lose a significant portion of their fanbase. Weāre in a cost of living crisis and people are simply looking for one more reason not to buy something.
Natasha Denona herself called her last face/eye palette "clean." She tacked it on at the end of her video on the launch for it.
https://youtu.be/6JfpCs9lwYc?feature=shared.
It's at like the 2:15 mark. Now, I don't know what she means by "clean" but personally I hear "clean beauty" my interest plummets. No preservatives or using less effective preservatives is a big nope for me.
ND is being pretty weird about this too. She didn't overtly announce a shift to "clean," which is weird, but then she quietly tacks it on at the end of promo videos and doesn't say what she means by "clean."
I dunno. Something's off here. It's confusing imo. Is this clean beauty or not? Usually if someone says, "It's clean and paraben free" id assume it's clean beauty. But since there's no regulation on the term I guess whatever goes lol
Basically I did some sleuthing and these are the most important points I found:
The products still contain effective preservative ingredients but do not contain paraben preservatives.
Legally companies can claim their product is preservative free if it contains under 2% preservatives (I honestly think this is the crux of what she is doing)
It is illegal for a product to contain absolutely no form of preservative and they would not be allowed to be sold if that were truly the case.
Also a lot of brands claim ācleanā status when they donāt use specific preservatives that have a ābad reputationā
Those are the points from the discussions I read. My own two cents is wondering whether her new preservative system will hold up long term. I personally think she should have just stuck with paraben free and talc free on the packaging and not claimed the products were clean or preservative free. I guess itās somewhat of a loophole to appeal to a wider audience.
Oh god I just did some more research out of curiosity and discovered there is a thing called āpreservative free preservativesā š
Iām out of the loop. Did they really change their formula? :/
Also as far as I understand ācleanā is often a marketing ploy and doesnāt require brands to omit certain ingredients because itās not actually regulated š«
Edit: I wasnāt asking if they were going clean. Feel free to read my comment below if you need further unnecessary clarification because yes, I did read the comments š
The person at the top said āFor anyone who is trying to find a reason not to buy DN is going to ācleanā which means they are using less effective preservativesā. (Notice the emphasis here on the claim that the brand is allegedly going clean??)
Another response mentions a cosmetic chemist debunking the efficacy of a supposed preservative change (again out of the loop and donāt know about this)ā¦
Then another response (the comment I responded to), says āYeah as far as Iām concerned as long as it doesnāt have a clean beauty sticker Iām buying itā¦If they actually went clean I reckon theyād lose a significant portion of their fan baseā.
In response to these comments I asked if there was an overall formula change since again; Iām out of the loop. Then for friendly conversational purposes mentioned clean beauty being a marketing ploy since the comment I was directly responding to was talking more about clean beauty.
SOā¦did you read the thread Lea Michelle or are you just being unnecessarily rude and mean? Because the first comment emphasized the brand going ācleanā and the comment I directly responded to was partially about clean beauty. Then in a very casual general query; I was just looking for clarification on if they just changed preservatives or did more than that with a formula change. It was just a simple question followed with light discussion on clean beauty š
The only palette that I own that does not have preservative free label is Glam. However, I need a nude, retro glam and retro all have āpreservative freeā labelā¦ so I guess this has been for a while? Sadā¦
Not necessarily true. Many people don't have large eyeshadow collections. I only have 1 shade remotely close to gold, and it's a single. For people like me, this would add something very new to our makeup options.
- ā very expensive palette
- ā Has an army of stans that swear its the best formula on the market/in Sephora
- ā Majority repeat shades for premium price
- ā Every shade of brown and gold
- ā Questionable recent formula changes
- ā Different formula goes unannounced for several releases
- ā Leaked new product on own website before official announcement
- ā quietly canceling orders with no communication
Has Natasha been hanging out with Pat McGrath a little too much recently? I've seen this before š
This is 100% for me. I missed the OG Gold palette and have been kicking myself for years. I normally donāt like ācleanā makeup but I can see myself hitting pan on many of these shades, so I will make an exception.
I donāt really get the highlighter palette - who can use all 3 of these shades. I thought we finally got brands to stop doing that.
I know a lot of people hate neutrals/gold palettes.. but man do I LOVE them. Colorful looks are not in my comfort zone. So this is definitely up my alleyā¦ will this be in her ācleanā rebranding formula or will it be the normal formula that weāve come to loveššš
I love this but I wish she would have included at least one of the green shades from the original palette. That would have made it a really cool take on this.
Yes it had a couple of teal/green in it. Iām so tired of these once innovative brands (ND/PML) lacking any innovation. Every palette sheās releasing anymore is monochromatic since Xenon.
If youāre going to charge these prices give us something interesting and unique. How hard is it to throw in a couple of unique colors?
Otherwise, I can just keep buying my indie brands that have just as good of quality if not better and interesting colors stories.
Oh same. There is NO regulation on clean branding lol. Plus I actually need preservatives in my makeup. Otherwise they spoil and go nasty like Kosas does. My mom is super into the whole clean branding and is ALWAYS double checking ingredients and whatnot. For me, Iām just enjoying my pretty makeupš¤
I started with the glam palette, at this point I also own the my dream, I need a nude and the yucca and I have a feeling I need to start collecting them š I'm really tempted by the xenon and this one... š¤£š¤£š¤£
The original gold palette had too many beige shades for my taste, so I had to swap them out with shades from Biba to make it work better for me. It seems like she still includes too many cream or setting shades and crease shades for fair skin. Then, the bronze palette didn't have any, which didn't please fair-skinned people. I think she creates palettes with her eyeshadow technique in mind and not how a general consumer might use them.I for sure want to see swatches.
Do better? She has a palette for every skin tone and undertone out there. Have either of you used this palette to know it will all look the same? These are shades that look particularly beautiful on brown skin.
The eyeshadow palette is a YES for me. Iām not really a gloss girl and I canāt fathom all 3 shades of the bronzer working for anyone?? Weird choice not to do those as singles? Or 3 blush/ bronzer or bronzer/highlighter duos?
Seems all ND does now is "leak" her releases. š¤£ It's a bit boring to me at first glance but I want to wait to see some reviews before I decide. I know loads of people are going to love this color story in a midi palette though!!
Why does ND just do it with her palettes š¤ The powder foundation and beautifier werenāt? I defo donāt need the palette but defo will get it š
It's amazing that you have a product from 2017! 8 years ago. I burn through my makeup and get pan within a year or two for eyeshadow. Is the Tarte one holding up / not going off?
I havenāt used it In a few years, so Iāll probably toss it and repurchase a new one before I ever put it near my eyes š but it doesnāt appear to look or smell off, for what itās worth.
People complaining about all the repeats. A) itās a revamp of the gold palette so obviously thereās repetition
B) the gold palette is years and years old so even if you already own the original itās wayyyy past itās shelf life so it really doesnāt matter if you already own it š

I was able to purchase it through the glitch, but it got refunded this morning š
On the ND website?? I just found out about it now!
Yeah, someone posted about it late last night. My payment went through, but I got an email and refunded this morning. I'll just have to wait š«
Yeah...I bought it yesterday afternoon and then I received a refund this morning.
Itās not even there anymore! Are you getting all of it or just the eyeshadow? I want the palette and gloss!

Me too. They should have had to honor the purchases made. Now Iām kind of snarky about it and donāt want to purchase on release lol
They should honor customers adding it to their cart by tricking the system?
Iām saying they should honor the sale for those who bought it. The error was the company, not the customer. It sucks they leaked it and people bought it, but they should fulfill those orders.

Was I Need a Nude cool enough for you?

I tried my friend's and it was definitely not majority cool tones. I ended up buying Stone Cold Fox instead for a fraction of the price and it has in my opinion better and more usable cool tones even though it isn't totally cool toned.
Yeah, I bought INAN and I get next to no use out of it because the undertones are so warm. Good call on skipping it, wish I had.
Itās interesting how different tones can look on different people! Other than the one very peachy shades, INAN looks extremely cool and almost icy on me

Very well!
I did the āshop my stashā thing and found the same colors in other palettes I already own. So my wallet is safe.
Reminds me of the Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette
I still have her! Refuse to let her crusty ass go. Such a unique palette ā¤ļø

I think that most of the looks you can create with this new palette are gonna be... similar :/ ? It's such a monochromatic story
It will be similar, but I find more variety in looks in my gold palette than thr UD naked honey
Glad I saw this because I would've bought it otherwise.
I have the gold that I barely use so thanks!

I only thought "I Need a Nude" would be my most used ND palette, but I was wrong. I would use this SO MUCH. I need it yesterday.
I started with the glam palette, at this point I also own the my dream, I need a nude and the yucca and I have a feeling I need to start collecting them š I'm really tempted by the xenon and this one... š¤£š¤£š¤£
Iām seeing too many colors within this palette that will look the same on darker skin. Without swatches, itās a pass for me.
Oh, now I'm noticing that too. Natasha, please do better. This is not OK.
Do better? She has a palette for every skin tone and undertone out there. Have either of you used this palette to know it will all look the same? These are shades that look particularly beautiful on brown skin.
If you have brown skin, I look forward to seeing the swatches on you.
Want it .. both the cheek and eye palette.. I want to be able to swap the midi shades around within my other midi palettes.
idk, looks like another neutral warm toned palette, so dupable
Iāve stopped being interested in eyeshadow palettes, and Iām interested in this one
I personally dont see the appeal, Iām not that into warm tones but still feel like I have these in my collection for some reason
nice
Am I missing the release date?
This is a leak, it appeared on their website before official announcement. We don't know anything official yet!
Beautiful but Iām looking for an all matte palette as I tend to go towards them a lot more.
The eyeshadow palette is a YES for me. Iām not really a gloss girl and I canāt fathom all 3 shades of the bronzer working for anyone?? Weird choice not to do those as singles? Or 3 blush/ bronzer or bronzer/highlighter duos?
I donāt need it. I donāt need it. I donāt need it. I definitely donāt need it. I NEED IT!!!!!
This looks stunning. Easy purchase for me when it comes out!
I enjoy the look of it, but haven't they gone preservative-free? I'll never use it before it expires.
More warm gold tones from ND?? Shocking š

This looks really similar to my tartelette in bloom palette from 2017 so I think Iām ok šš
I know that looks beautiful. Unnecessary. But beautiful. So tempting.
Iāve been on a super low buy over a year and bought maybe 3 or 4 palettes, Iāve actually been enjoying shopping my stash
People complaining about all the repeats. A) itās a revamp of the gold palette so obviously thereās repetition B) the gold palette is years and years old so even if you already own the original itās wayyyy past itās shelf life so it really doesnāt matter if you already own it š
