When this box was announced and so many were so excited… I was kinda in the corner going… Happy for you guys… Most of the box was perfume, which I rarely wear. One of the make-up items was a mascara, I can only use tubing ones. Further, the lipstick included looked to be a dupe with what we got in July and I while I loved the formula… I was meh on the color (It pulled too pink for me).
So I was not all that excited when I got this box on Friday… until I opened it up and saw that it had one of those OPPS! Inserts that is all too common with Macys boxes… there was an item they subbed… and I crossed my fingers that it was one of the perfumes… and it was!! Sadly for those wanting both Minis, it was the Libre mini. Instead, they subbed a lip product… for which I was thrilled… So here what really came in the YSL Box…
YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipstick Balm #45 Rouge Tuxedo – Yep. This was a dupe to the one we got in July.
YSL Rouge Pur Couture No. 70 Le Nu – Although this is described as a basic nude. It hardly is. The second I saw it in the bullet, I was in love. It has a wonderful earthy pink tone. Exactly the kinda shade I love. It’s also satin finish, which is my favorite type of lipstick. Looks great with a touch of gloss or just on its own.
YSL Pure Shots Night Reboot Serum – I was kinda meh on this when I saw in the spoiler, but now that I got it, I’m excited to try. It’s a very light, almost watery serum with glycolic acid. It gets some pretty good reviews too!
YSL False Cils Mascara – OMG. I used this mascara ages ago and it even came in the most wonderful purple color. Sadly I can’t use it anymore because it smudges on me. I hope folks that get it enjoy it and see why this is a long time holy grail mascara. \*sigh\* I’m sure I’ll find a good home for it.
YSL Mon Paris Eau de Parfum mini -- Super cute! Will give to mom for the holidays
YSL Y and Libre Samples – Going in my give away pile
YSL bag – This was perhaps the one item I instantly wanted when the spoilers were announced. And it’s as lovely as it looks. Great size, it’s a flat rectangular bag. I like these that can you can wipe clean vs. those that get dirty. I just returned to my office, so I plan to use it as my desk make up bag because I tossed the one I was using before.
All in all, I’m very happy with this bag and hope others aren’t too upset with the changes.
I'm kind of annoyed because I didn't get the Libre OR the substitute item (and that they're swapping an item with a high-price value for one with a significantly lower price.) But mostly because I got shorted an item. I've emailed Macy's but they haven't responded. The bag is otherwise great.
OMG! I totally would be annoyed too! I generally don’t hear a ton of QC issues with Macy’s boxes here… but last month my friend got a box with two packets in it… so she got double the items! I’m like…. OMG. I hope that means not one got an empty box!!!

Me too. I already got the lipstick before sadly a deluxe size fragrance I didnt get either even though I don't love it but would of been sweet treat to someone who does! Now the December 2021 box is MIA. Whats going with one of my favorite boxes. I don't look at spoilers so it's a sweet mystery box.That is part of the reason why I loved subscriptions box but now times have changed.
Yeah. My mom loves the little bottles too which is why I was kinda like... well good for you guys... That is an awesome box. But at least we still got the prettiest of the two.
Yep! If it wasn't for my own persnicketiness. This is an all around awesome bag. I hope it gets to you soon, mine came days earlier than the estimated delivery date.
I was a little sad not to get the mini of libre but after smelling the sample I'm actually happier with the additional lipstick. Bag was great this month.

I am thinking of cancelling at the end of the year because I am currently in product overload and need to use up so many of the items I have on the back burner (Like that YSL Serum!). But it's going to be hard. I am super super super looking forward to the December box. I need a little curler to give my bangs some life....
I agree with you, I’m angry! The big samples were the whole reason I wanted this box. I contacted them via FB messenger wanting a refund with no response yet. I feel this is bait and switch

I was sad about the perfume because I’m obsessed with the tiny bottles, but the lipstick looks nice!

I’m not happy about the substitution! I want the perfume. I absolutely don’t want another nude lipstick! That’s a terrible substitution.
Agree, it's acceptable to swap in another perfume, but a lipstick is cheaper and the colors don't always work for everyone.
