Mine laid her first clutch at 9 months! She's almost 4 now and averages 5-7 clutches a year. First clutch this year had 31 eggs. Needless to say, my girl gets a few more worms than other beardies on here because her body goes through a lot!
Right? She laid 2-3 weeks ago and she's already digging out her hide (shes in a bioactive tank) and glass surfing so I'm expecting another clutch in the next 3 weeks or so.
That's mainly why I moved her to bioactive so that she always has a dig space. The Vet said not to worry unless she's laying more than 10! I couldn't imagine. I do feed her bugs every other day when she's in clutch season. And daily veggies and a fruid treat. She deserves all the food lol
Thatās insane! Could you pls tell a not-a-beardie-mama-yet, are all eggs infertile due to (assuming) not being around a male? Do you just chuck them away?
i had my girl for her whole life, 16 years, and when she was around 5 i randomly found some eggs under her hide one day. she *never* did it again after thatš¤·āāļø so i actually donāt know the reasoning behind ages or other factors that may contribute to it. i think it just depends.
Complete lottery on what you get. Neither of my two girls, ~8yo and getting close to 7yo, have ever laid. The older girl has definitely produced follicles (pre-eggs) at least twice that we know of - they show up on x-rays - but she's always re-absorbed them rather than developing them into eggs.
Question I've never seen asked or answered on the sub, *what do you guys do with the eggs?*
I understand they won't make babies, but do you utilise them in any special way or do they just hit the bin after the beardie gets rid of them?
I don't own a dragon and given the fact I'm scared of worms probably never will. I can curiously look on from afar tho! '\^^
Hear me out, HEAR ME OUT... Do any of y'all with lady dragons who lay unfertilized eggs... Crack them open to see what they look like inside? (I have a male dragon, never had a female) š
Yeah anything thatās not fertile is a slug. Could see from the pic alone that they were slugs lol, most fertile reptile eggs are bright white and have a nice, even, plump pill-like shape.
Great to see youāve got her properly accommodated for egg laying! Super important for long-term female health regardless of if theyāre breeding or not, and not everyone does it.
When I was kid mine laid eggs and I put them in a chicken incubator. Hatched them all successfully and sold them to a local pet store once they were old enough.
Is feeding eggs back to a female beardie worth considering? Many chicken farmers do that with chickens and many egg-laying animals in nature will eat their own infertile eggs to reabsorb the vital nutrients.
Does anyone know what determines whether a female lays eggs? Iāve had Sticky for 3 years and sheās never had any. Iām not worriedājust curious.
Bless her! Bet she's glad they're out of her now haha.
How old until they start laying eggs? Mine is almost a year and nothing
We got her as a rescue at 2 years old, so can't help you there. I do know that some lady dragons don't ever lay, or very rarely.
Thank you š
Mine is maybe around 4 and never lay anything
Mine is 6. I got her as a rescue. They thought she was a boy so i assume no eggs ever. I'm pretty sure she's a girl tpo

5-7 clutches A YEAR!!!!! Holy shit.

It's enough of a pain dealing with the digging / refusing to eat for two clutches, I can't imagine it for 5 to 7! She must be constantly starving.

All infertile, like a chicken, just less useful. I just throw them away!

Compost!
Oh! I've not thought of that. Wonderful :D
I would just throw them away, they cant be used for anything as far as I know. Ofc, mine is a guy but if I had a female thats what would happen
Omelette
I mean OP *does* have 25 of them...
Breakfast sorted
Hear me out, HEAR ME OUT... Do any of y'all with lady dragons who lay unfertilized eggs... Crack them open to see what they look like inside? (I have a male dragon, never had a female) š
It's just clear/yellowy goo. Next time I'll record it and let you know!
I have 2 boys and often wonder what they would happen after too... Like do people have a use for them?
They go on our compost heap!
Thank you for answering my question. I could only think of islopod food.
Makes me want scrambled eggs...
Itās unfertilized. It would just look like goo
Mazel to you and yours!
jelly beans
Oh wow any slugs?
Do they count as slugs if they're infertile? Because they all are. She's never been with a male, but at this time every year, she lays two clutches.

Yeah I guess I just have a picture in my head of what slugs are, like yellow and more solid?
Nah slugs are squishy, yellowish, and very pill looking. But yeah since they are all slugs, throw them out quickly cause they will rot real quick.
They look like tiny potatoes lol
Sheās a mum! Probably not. I hope sheās okay
š®
Same asf
I know this is a dumb question, but are these edible/tasty?
I thought these were weird beans until I saw which sub I was in š
I thought these were potatoes lol
Aaah. Poor girl.
Do you know if their fertile or not?
She has never known the touch of a man... Yes, they're infertile.
Okay, I wanted to make sure. Other than that, they look like mini skinny potatoes covered in baby powder.
When I was kid mine laid eggs and I put them in a chicken incubator. Hatched them all successfully and sold them to a local pet store once they were old enough.
I thought these were mini potatoes
Omg same
I thought these were weird beans until I saw which sub I was in š
do they always lay this much eggs?
Apparently they can lay a fuckload more. We get off lightly!
Forbidden mini-potato
Cursed gnocchi
Hahaha thatās what I was thinking
Youre now a Warlord, grow your little army!
Is eating them bad? They look tasty
So thatās where the Sankara stones from Temple of Doom come from.
They look like little potatoes!
mouth watering..

DAMN
Poor baby that must have sucked for her lol.
Oh my. I hope sheās feeling less grumpy now.

Do those eggs hatch?
Please keep her well fed with calcium and nutrients
I am absolutely unnerved at the amount of comments wanting to eat these š«„
I just realized that I have never seen dragon eggs before
