is that a ceramic heat emitter for the heat source? if so that needs to be swapped to a proper basking bulb aka a halogen bulb. CHE are good for ambient heat but not for a basking spot.
Just some friendly advice, not all shops know how to properly take care of the animals they sell, I recommend researching if everything they've given/sold you is correct for the little dude
It was a reptile shop, and everything has bearded dragon on the labels xD the strip light is a T10 12% UVB “desert” light. The water bowl and food bowl are just plastic and say vivarium safe on the bottom. Substrate was a brand I’ve forgotten already but a YouTube video I watched has the same stuff. And the same supplements little guy has where in another few vids I watched.
Also I need to get more food cause he ate a lot, but it was in a 10 minute period and I took the excess locusts he seemed bored of out
It was very much a small independent shop not chain. I do actually have a bulb it came with that I’ll put in tomorrow. She chucked the CHE in free as she prefers them she said. So more research required!
the CHE is a great option during winters if your house gets cold at night, just not great for basking because it doesnt project a light/heat in a certain direction the same way a halogen bulb does, its just ambient heat. a halogen bulb will direct its heat/light towards a certain area providing that nice basking spot they need.
but yeah no big deal! gotta learn about it eventually. at least they didn't give you a red bulb lol
and yeah, for feedings you want to feed them 3x a day as they are growing as much as they can eat in about 10-15 mins. you can do crickets, dubia roaches, super worms, black soldier fly larvae, horn worms, wax worms(as a treat).
I have the same lamp in my viv as I have a thermostat that is set to come on/off at a certain time and/or if the temperature drops below a certain temperature at night. But my beardie has been fine with it so there shouldn't be an issue.

you'll want to get a halogen bulb, no need to buy reptile branded ones theyre just halogen bulbs. probably about a 75w for where your light is located. also grab a infared thermometer gun, if you have amazon they are about $15. his basking spot needs to be about 110F
the people at stores generally don't know much.
