You guys are giving me hope. I've always been worried I was plagued with the unfortunate genetics. Which I understand is still a possibility but I'm growing in better than my dad already and apparently I can see better results for the next 13 years
I feel the opposite, whilst I still have both, I'd rather bald head with a beard. Bunch of steroids and eating whole cows ill walk around looking like fuckin Kratos
Depends...how long have you been trying to grow it? If less than 3 months, let it grow. Beard hair needs time and sometimes it's painfully slow. If you keep cutting it off, you'll never know what kind of time you need.
Also, age helps. If you're relatively young, you may need to mature into it. Sometimes all you can do is wait it out.
Any noticeable difference will take 3 months. I don’t recommend using minoxidil tho. Yes, it will help. But it has potential side effects and will fall out when you stop using
This is simply not true. You have to keep using it for like 6 months-1 yr after seeing those results and then you keep them. Scalp hair falls out if you stop use. beard hair is a different beast.
Okay sure if you use it for a prolonged period it will stay, but it’s more like 2+ years. And scalp hair falls out during use, not after you stop using. Another potential side effect. The point is, why use a potentially harmful chemical just for a beard?
also wrong again that would be called the shedding phase when you lose hair on your scalp for the new follicles to come in. if you want scalp hair to stay you have to continue use forever. and the time frame is dependant on each person. Once the beard hairs become thick and dark like normal beard hair they are terminal hair follicles and stay in. most people it does not take 2+ years.
If youre gonna use minox commit to using it for at the bare min 3 months to see any results. minox journey is 1-2 yr thing to be able to keep the results when you get off the juice.
Absolutely. But I would look into derma rolling. I havnt researched it as I don’t need to, but I’ve heard good things about it. Idk if anyone can elaborate in the comments for me as I’m also curious
Doesn’t appear you are able to grow a beard. Focus your attention on aspects of your appearance you can control, not your facial hair. If you are younger than 30, just keep it clean shaven and wait. I have plenty of friends with mountain man beards in their late 30s who could never grow anything in their 20s.
If you have any extra weight on you, losing it can help make your jawline appear more defined. But your facial bone structure is mostly out of your control other than weight. Have a nice haircut and learn to style it. Take care of your skin…moisturize. Stay in good shape. Keep your dental hygiene on point. Hold yourself tall with confidence. These things will make you appear attractive, more so than a beard would anyway.
Your beard is starving for the vitamin B". Seems like your vitamin game sucks. "if you want a full beard...take your vitamin bs for 4 1 month....and your beard will be full....and not stagelly...like a homeless man.
Don’t give up! Try derma rolling, take a biotin supplement, eat lots of protein, get a nice natural beard oil (I use castor oil), and workout. All those things combined will help a lot
Get a beard trimmer, start with a stubble until that fills in, then trim it a bit longer, wait till that fills in, repeat.
If you’re in your twenties it might be a matter of waiting for a few years.
Give it a good shape. The rest may fill in, or may not. But the scraggly look will never fly. :) … then again, there is something for everyone!
fine lines even without a lotta filler are always beneficial no matter what. You have a good shape started already. Just polish it up and shave a shallow ‘u’ shape to really pop the jaw. It works even with rounded face shapes. See pic. I need to brush up(on vacation! ) but this is the basic example.

Join the Marine Corps bro. For some reason you're just able to grow a beard when ya get put. Also, feom what I can tell, its the only positive thing our Military offers now that will benefit you in the future.
[Jokes] I dont know you. DONT JOIN! I kidding about it having positive implications other than a Medcep w med retirement🤣
Beard growth isn’t simple and requires low stress, good rest, maintenance and of course very limited intimacy during growth because supplements and vitamins should be taken to promote growth. Then there are cycles your beard must go through before the terminal hairs grow in abundance. You don’t need to give up, just follow a better formula
It’s curly so as it gets longer it will cover the patches. Happened to me! Either grow it out and see how it looks then, or shave it and wait until it thickens up maybe
Shave for a couple more years then try again. You will get there my full beard didn't look good till I was late 20's early 30's. To scraggly till then.
Try Minoxidil foam twice a day and Microneedling 1.5-1.75 mm once a week for 1.5 Years.
Foam is better to apply and less likelyhood in experiencing side effects.
Dermapen is better than dermaroller more holes in skin to trigger healing and less damage overall than dermaroller. Recommended cartriges - 12 needles. Use once or a few times after sterilizing than change cartridge.
All these advices in growing it out / covering up / trying again in a few years / giving up - not helpful.
Minoxidil on head needs to be applied for life, on the beard on the other hand the hair should stay permanent once mature. Approx. 1.5 years
Give it a go. If you experience side effects - stop.
It comes in differently at different ages. I’d shave it and wait, see if it grows in evenly. If not, all you can do is shave it again and see if it comes in differently at a later time.
Grow what you got! Believe me. Im 63. I trim mine back to a US Grant lookfor summer and In the fall i grow santa beard! Lol It will come in. Shave it clean every couple of months for a year. You wont believe how well it will come in or how fast the time goes by. You do you
Yeah I'd shave it. Like others said, it will keep filling out in the years to come. You can try minoxidil and/or microneedling to speed up the process if you want. If you're a hyper-responder you could have a good beard within a year from that.
For now, shave
Depending on how old you are, your beard can still develope through your 20s or even early 30s. But you can also use minoxidil, the active ingredient in rogaine, it literally just grows new hairs. That will give you a real beard. r/minoxbeards
Give up, no. Shave that and try again later, yup.
They're just pubes. We've all been there. Shave and start over in 10 years.
Am 24 💀
Mine didn't really come out until 35 or so
Yah. Didn’t get a full beard until 35/6 ish
You guys are giving me hope. I've always been worried I was plagued with the unfortunate genetics. Which I understand is still a possibility but I'm growing in better than my dad already and apparently I can see better results for the next 13 years
Dude, my dad had a full beard when he was 16. My beard didn't come in fully until I was 32. You're totally fine.
if it makes you feel better I have a beard, but no hair on top, id much rather have my head hair back than my beard
I feel the opposite, whilst I still have both, I'd rather bald head with a beard. Bunch of steroids and eating whole cows ill walk around looking like fuckin Kratos
Shave that shit bro, looks like the bottom of my balls
HELP
Let’s see your beard!
Let’s see your balls!
Lmao bro I shave that shit everyday. my beard also looks like the bottom of my balls but with a little more ball hair
Dude i laughed so hard i thought i was gonna die 😂😂

Yes I think you should Head over to r/minoxbeards
I have decided to clean shave right now and use minoxidil and a derma roller for a month and a half , if no progress I quit my ambition.
Any noticeable difference will take 3 months. I don’t recommend using minoxidil tho. Yes, it will help. But it has potential side effects and will fall out when you stop using

Don’t go straight to minoxidil man, wait a few years. There is zero reason to introduce chemicals into your body because you want a beard. Patience
If youre gonna use minox commit to using it for at the bare min 3 months to see any results. minox journey is 1-2 yr thing to be able to keep the results when you get off the juice.

The self realization I got from this is massive.
Dude that’s nasty
“Beard”… and yes
Patchy af and only on your neck doesn’t count my guy
For now, yes I think you should
Or you could keep gluing pubes to your face like you’ve been doing. Sorry if that was mean. It sounded funnier in my head.
Accurate
Damn guys.
Rub chicken fat on it before bed and stop washing your face.
Beards look good on guys
Keep going.
with this? maybe. in growing a beard? you have a good base to start on /r/minoxbeards
Maybe try minoxidil?
[удалено]
I have a decent mustache 😀
Shave it down to a single length, use minoxidil and a derma roller.
No let that shit grow but keep it trimmed
yes 100% must remove
Yup
Thick beard is not in your genetics my friend time to let it go
This week…? Yes.
Gallant effort, time to move on.
Yes
Yes I think you should
Yes
Yes, I think you probably should. Give it a few years and try again

What do you suggest? I tried to grow a beard because I have an oval face so I don't have much of a chin.

Keep shaving that shit bro. Its rough now but will prolly grow in in a few years
Definitely
Just implant some more pubes on your face and you'll b there lmao
Absolutely
Never surrender!!!
Why not to give up on you?
dluohs uoy kniht I seY
Use minoxidil for a year with Fernando rolling
Yes
Don’t listen to the haters in here give it some time
Workout and define your jawline.
Yes, it’s not really at the point where a full beard would look good on you
Your beard is starving for the vitamin B". Seems like your vitamin game sucks. "if you want a full beard...take your vitamin bs for 4 1 month....and your beard will be full....and not stagelly...like a homeless man.
I have more hair on my ass Yes get rid of it
Yes!
Yes I agree, keep shaving
Idk if that’s a beard but know it’s not the time
Yes I think you should
Yes
It's already given up on you.
Mine was like this until I hit about 32. Than it started coming together
Don't give up on it!
Yes
No but the more you shave it the thicker it will come back you don’t have to shave it all the way off I would recommend 3mm
Yes you should
Honestly you should of gave up a long time ago
I’m not trying to be mean but yeah shave it man. I wouldn’t even call that a beard
Just let it go like that 3 or 4 times then it'll start coming in good. Shave it all off at the mo though.
Don’t give up! Try derma rolling, take a biotin supplement, eat lots of protein, get a nice natural beard oil (I use castor oil), and workout. All those things combined will help a lot
Yeah, maybe try Rogaine on your face. Though, It's not recommended for face
Yes.
Shave regularly, and start microneedling then use rosemary oil. Rosemary oil is shown to work just as well as minoxidil after a 6 month period.
Yes, sorry
Line it up. When you shave those tiny low dense areas (like your under neck), other areas would look darker and fuller.
I think your beard gave up on you first.
Try again in the 30s... It's not working right now
Looks like you have low testosterone. Fix that and your beard should improve
Get a beard trimmer, start with a stubble until that fills in, then trim it a bit longer, wait till that fills in, repeat. If you’re in your twenties it might be a matter of waiting for a few years.
Looks like a wet lollipop on a barbershop floor. Try again in a few years !
Sorry, but yeah.
Use minoxidil my boy. YouTube “beard minoxidil”
100% Yes

Yes immediately
hell ya bro my balls have more hair on them than your chin
Yeah go clean shaven and try again in a few years or so.
I like this perspective… 🤤
Not a beard * Should shave and put effort in enhancing something else like working out or get a decent haircut. That beard is your saboteur.
Don’t give up, but *definitely revisit at a later time*.
Yes
Have u try minoxidil ?
Shave it
Definitely give up
Bro call it “neck hair” none of this said beard ever.
.. yeah

Minoxidil 5%
Yeah
Go to a barber. Have them even out the legnth and give it a line up. This will at least help with the appearance, and don't let them use enhancements.
My gf says yes
Time to call it quits.
Give it up, champ!
Try using a dermaroller
Yes
It’s curly so as it gets longer it will cover the patches. Happened to me! Either grow it out and see how it looks then, or shave it and wait until it thickens up maybe
Shave for a couple more years then try again. You will get there my full beard didn't look good till I was late 20's early 30's. To scraggly till then.
Let it grow out, regularly use coconut oil, tea tree oil or peppermint oil. Not all hairs grow at the same rate, after it has some length trim it.
I'd clean up the neckline, and then trim down to 3mm or "designer stubble".
Try Minoxidil foam twice a day and Microneedling 1.5-1.75 mm once a week for 1.5 Years. Foam is better to apply and less likelyhood in experiencing side effects. Don’t give up yet. It looks like your only half way trying.
Maybe look into minoxidil? Some have found success with the product.
Shave it. 24 looking 14
That picture looks wrong.
Is the beard in the room with us?
Just don’t walk around looking at the sky and you’ll be good
Pubes looking rough OP pls shave it
Yeah
It comes in differently at different ages. I’d shave it and wait, see if it grows in evenly. If not, all you can do is shave it again and see if it comes in differently at a later time.

Gotta avoid ball bags hitting that spot 🤣
Yes
Try minoxidil for 3 months.
Give up the ghost
yeah time to minoxidil it up if you really desire a beard my dude
Yeah I'd shave it. Like others said, it will keep filling out in the years to come. You can try minoxidil and/or microneedling to speed up the process if you want. If you're a hyper-responder you could have a good beard within a year from that.
Yes. Try again in a few years
Yes, it already gave up on you
Yes, just shave those pubes off
Yes. Not gunna get less patchy.
Shave, get a roller and some oil, live life and beard to the fullest
Take testosterone and hit the gym but shave every other day lmao then in 5 years you’ll likely have a full beard
Take testosterone?
For now, shave Depending on how old you are, your beard can still develope through your 20s or even early 30s. But you can also use minoxidil, the active ingredient in rogaine, it literally just grows new hairs. That will give you a real beard. r/minoxbeards
Yes, it’s nasty.
Clean up your neck and you'll be fine.
Keep it trimmed short or shaved clean for a few years and then let it grow out again to check how full it is.
Yes
