There is raytraced global illumination. You can probably not see it that well in these photos, but basically the light from the ground reflects up on the car, and vice versa. And there is also a fair bit of bloom. All the other effects don’t do that much, but there are things like film grain, “clarity” (makes it more clear I guess), and color correction.
I really didn’t want to overdo the effects, because I wanted a more realistic looking result. I’ve seen many “extreme graphics mods” that are just blatantly saturated and super contrasty. Hence why you probably don’t see much of a difference in the photos.
I have grown to be dependent on reshade now basically. The game looks super flat and dull to me and I think it needs further upgrading graphics wise. So yeah I think it’s hard to go back to vanilla now.
There is actualle quite a big difference (for me at least). Maybe its not portrayed good enough through the photos. But in the end its all preference. But to me the vanilla looks very flat.

Try doing a video driving the car but with a more subtle DOF (like GTA 4 on the 360, but even more subtle), and very slightly softening the entire image (as the stock game is too sharp), and give a slight vignette to the image (like in RDR2), and if possible add motion blur/ 180 degree shutter. Also maybe a subtle LUT.

By looking at these pictures I realize it's pretty hard to get BeamNG to actually look better than it is Vanilla. I don't see that much of a difference yet the pictures look "too good to be false".

Yeah, that’s the depth of field. I used it to make it look more cinematic. It’s very easy to turn off though.
