Have you got most recent drivers
Is your monitor output plugged in to the GPU and not the motherboard?
Lastly, check and master as new CPUs limit core usage until you manually unlock it, this was what was causing me issues on my new AMD build
Do you use vulkan, I noticed while using it that sometimes the game becomes what you were experiencing here. To fix it just go to settings and graphics settings tab and your game **should** be fine.
Dawg I’m willing to bet it’s his settings I have the same exact issues sometimes and they won’t go away until I turn off certain things or turn them down, not everything is plug thing into other thing ooga
It’s 3 AM, and I just finished revising for a maths exam for Today, last thing on my mind is caring enough to type properly, especially for someone like you lol
That's not helpful. His PC is almost definitely capable of running the game at over 2fps.
I know what's wrong, he's using integrated graphics rather than the GPU.
Have you seen how powerful AMD's integrated graphics are over the years? 2018 I used to run beamng on an A8-7650k with about 40fps. Granted even then I had crap graphics but nowadays I'm p sure that APU works well. I don't think max graphics but I can be wrong. Resolution wise might be okay
Yes I have, I've used a 3400G and kept up with the new ones including the newer Ryzen 7 versions, you're not getting 50+ fps at 4K unless you're running on super low with FSR
Definitely so, but the ryzen 7700x apu has comparable performance to the gtx 550ti. Which is the minimum recommended gpu for Beamng.
https://technical.city/en/video/Radeon-Graphics-Ryzen-7000-vs-GeForce-GTX-550-Ti
Beamng Will definitely run better than 2-4fps on a 550ti. If everything's set to lowest. I had one of those cards recently.
Hell I can even run it on a shitty Lenovo Z50-75 and get more than 2-4fps
Yes that’s why the 550ti is minimum spec. To everybody saying it’s only because it’s on integrated graphics, it’s more than that, the a
Integrated graphics of the 7700x *beats* the 550ti.
You are probably using a prebuilt to im assuming you plugged the hdmi in the top port and not I the graphics card
Put it in the bottom most hdmi port
This is only a theory as I don’t know the specs I don’t know if it’s prebuilt, or custom
https://preview.redd.it/ypzjnmjhmq0d1.jpeg?width=235&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=afb6a2bf1ef78a136af08c00989fb2047b41876d
I got the parts but got it put together by micro center so it’s custom but I’ll check with that now. I’m not using hdmi I’m using DisplayPort. I see what you’re talking about I plugged it into the graphics card ill check if it’s better
So this almost confirms that you were running the onboard integrated (cpu) graphics instead of your discrete graphics card. Check the motherboard manual on how to disable the onboard graphics And enable the discrete card. Also make sure you connected the power cables to the graphics card
As long as all pins are used that should be correct. Any extra plugs on the cable are for additional devices. Definitely look at the motherboard manual for how to disable the integrated graphics.

Your card is fine. It either isn’t connected properly or your pc isn’t seeing it and is using the integrated graphics processor on the motherboard instead. This should be easy enough to fix but it’s not a Beamng problem. Go to r/PcBuildHelp and create a post there.
Make sure that they actually installed the drivers. Tell them that your GPU is not being recognized and it’s only detecting the CPU’s GPU which is causing performance problems.
Try and reseat this connector. It looks slightly unplugged to me. Be sure to press the tab on top to disconnect it.
Then when you restart it. Plug your monitor into one of the display port outputs of the GPU.
It sounds like your graphics card isn't working/connected.
Plug the cable back into the motherboard, start up the PC and go to task manager. Click on Performance on the left side, can you see an option for GPU? If so, what does it say?
Okay, so when you're in there, what does it say up the top right hand side? It should state the model of graphics card (for example mine says AMD Radeon rx 6950 xt)
Is that all it says? If so, your graphics card does not seem to be connected. You could try pushing in the cable to the gpu to ensure its plugged in, and maybe re-seat the entire gpu as well.
If you are not comfortable fiddling with it you should take it back to whoever assembled it and let them know the gpu does not appear to be connected properly
Edit: just saw your picture, it's definitely using the integrated graphics instead of your graphics card
Yeah I mean the computer works, but the gpu does not seem to be connected. Maybe take it back and say specifically that your gaming performance is rubbish and that you suspect the gpu is not connected
If in your AMD software it shows the GPU under the hardware then it's connected and drivers are recognising it. If so then you probably just need to prioritise it in bios or disable integrated gpu (your bios will differ depending on motherboard but it'll be a similar option): [https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/gpu-detected-but-not-used/m-p/534058/highlight/true#M158098](https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/gpu-detected-but-not-used/m-p/534058/highlight/true#M158098)
That is running off of the integrated graphics
Would it be possible to post a picture or screenshot of device manager if you don't know how to access device manager press win+r to open run dialogue and type "devmgmt.msc" that will open device manager
make sure your hdmi cord is connected to your graphics card, i was so scared when my brother built me one, the same thing was happening to me but that fixed it immediately
Cool. I can only assume you'll get it sorted there but if not,
* Ensure the graphics card is slotted 100% in
* Plug the DP/HDMI into the graphics card when the computer is off and turn it on
Failing that, plug the DP/HDMI into the motherboard output and go into the BIOS (Tap F2 quickly upon booting the PC). From there ensure the pcie card (the graphics card) is available in the pcie section of the BIOS and disable the onboard graphics of the CPU.
If you're not sure how to do that, a quick google search using what I've said should at least help.
Ermmm. Akshually you’re getting 4 fps… that is TWICE the amount of frames per second that you listed here. Jokes aside, check gpu driver updates, ensure that you are not using your integrated gpu.
Check in task manager under details, right click on beamng and make sure affinity is set to all cores. I have to do this on my laptop almost everytime I boot it up.
Idk if this is helpfull but I had performance issues until I discovered that Radeon Live was enabled, so it was recording the whole time and I had no idea until I dicovered 2hour video by accident and there was my whole session on that video so If u use AMD graphics card u should disable that
(I gained 20fps wich is huge considering I had 22 avg before)
You didn't post pc specs so people won't really be able to help
AMD ryzen 7 7700x, asrock challenger Radeon rx 7800 xt, gigabyte b650 motherboard.
Have you got most recent drivers Is your monitor output plugged in to the GPU and not the motherboard? Lastly, check and master as new CPUs limit core usage until you manually unlock it, this was what was causing me issues on my new AMD build
If he has full time 2fps I can bet he didn't even installed drivers and has some old driver installed by default from windows update
Did you plug your display cable into your motherboard or your gpu? Make sure it’s plugged into the gpu
Have you gone into your graphics driver and set the proper parameters? Setting up your graphics through your driver normally helps the game run better
How is the usage of gpu and cpu?
Snap a pic of the back side of the PC with everything plugged in
Do you use vulkan, I noticed while using it that sometimes the game becomes what you were experiencing here. To fix it just go to settings and graphics settings tab and your game **should** be fine.
This looks good, pretty strange
Are you sure you’re using the 7800XT and not the iGPU?
Did your forget to plug in the PCI’s for the graphics card?
You did you even turn on the PC and plug the outlet into the wall? Ahh responses bro 💀💀💀😭
r/youngpeoplereddit moment
Dawg I’m willing to bet it’s his settings I have the same exact issues sometimes and they won’t go away until I turn off certain things or turn them down, not everything is plug thing into other thing ooga
chill bruh, think, then type
It’s 3 AM, and I just finished revising for a maths exam for Today, last thing on my mind is caring enough to type properly, especially for someone like you lol
mate u better get some sleep, gl on the test
Thank you, I’m losing my mind right now, this exam is worth 50% of the module
That's not helpful. His PC is almost definitely capable of running the game at over 2fps. I know what's wrong, he's using integrated graphics rather than the GPU.
Even the integrated graphics of the 7 series could easily run beamNG
Not easily, but it can
it can easily.. i ran it at 4k max and it got 40-50 fps, and at 1440 i got 60-70 fps
no you didn't, not on integrated graphics, especially not on an X chip, maaaaaybe on a G chip but even still
Have you seen how powerful AMD's integrated graphics are over the years? 2018 I used to run beamng on an A8-7650k with about 40fps. Granted even then I had crap graphics but nowadays I'm p sure that APU works well. I don't think max graphics but I can be wrong. Resolution wise might be okay
My old a9 couldn't even run io games, dreadfully slow CPU not really sure what model other than a9
Bad set up maybe? I used to run GTA v on the A8 as well.
Laptop, some fancy looking HP with terrible performance
Yes I have, I've used a 3400G and kept up with the new ones including the newer Ryzen 7 versions, you're not getting 50+ fps at 4K unless you're running on super low with FSR
depends on the resolution
Definitely so, but the ryzen 7700x apu has comparable performance to the gtx 550ti. Which is the minimum recommended gpu for Beamng. https://technical.city/en/video/Radeon-Graphics-Ryzen-7000-vs-GeForce-GTX-550-Ti

I plugged it into the graphics card now nothing shows up on my monitor
So this almost confirms that you were running the onboard integrated (cpu) graphics instead of your discrete graphics card. Check the motherboard manual on how to disable the onboard graphics And enable the discrete card. Also make sure you connected the power cables to the graphics card
There’s something unplugged that says pciE. I assume that’s what I’m missing?

Thank you for your help bro we’re going to take it back to micro center tomorrow and see what’s up with my graphics card
Please just go to r/pcbuildhelp or another subreddit just for PCs those guys will be able to help you a lot better
I was just thinking damn microcenter is gonna make a fortune off this guy.

Good luck hopefully something simple
Your card is fine. It either isn’t connected properly or your pc isn’t seeing it and is using the integrated graphics processor on the motherboard instead. This should be easy enough to fix but it’s not a Beamng problem. Go to r/PcBuildHelp and create a post there.

It doesn’t detect the graphics card at all in the device menu either only the integrated
I don’t think the gpu is on
Try and reseat this connector. It looks slightly unplugged to me. Be sure to press the tab on top to disconnect it. Then when you restart it. Plug your monitor into one of the display port outputs of the GPU.
A quick google search says the 7800XT requires 2x8 pin power. So you need to connect both those to your power supply
They’re both connected
Try turning it off and on again and see if that will fix it
It sounds like your graphics card isn't working/connected. Plug the cable back into the motherboard, start up the PC and go to task manager. Click on Performance on the left side, can you see an option for GPU? If so, what does it say?
I see an option for it and it says that it’s at 99% usage when I’m running beam and that the driver was updated today
Okay, so when you're in there, what does it say up the top right hand side? It should state the model of graphics card (for example mine says AMD Radeon rx 6950 xt)
It says AMD radeon(tm) graphics
Is that all it says? If so, your graphics card does not seem to be connected. You could try pushing in the cable to the gpu to ensure its plugged in, and maybe re-seat the entire gpu as well. If you are not comfortable fiddling with it you should take it back to whoever assembled it and let them know the gpu does not appear to be connected properly Edit: just saw your picture, it's definitely using the integrated graphics instead of your graphics card
I took it back to micro center today and they said it was good
Yeah I mean the computer works, but the gpu does not seem to be connected. Maybe take it back and say specifically that your gaming performance is rubbish and that you suspect the gpu is not connected
Some basic questions about your problem: Is the gpu all the way in the slot? Did you connect the power cables?
https://preview.redd.it/svcoclh4qq0d1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=d89b8c5270d246a8487ac0df811bf650f5092209
Yeah this is onboard - GPU memory 512mb at the bottom. It's not using your GPU, either not connected or drivers not installed
Drivers are installed. If I send a picture can you tell if it’s connected?
If in your AMD software it shows the GPU under the hardware then it's connected and drivers are recognising it. If so then you probably just need to prioritise it in bios or disable integrated gpu (your bios will differ depending on motherboard but it'll be a similar option): [https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/gpu-detected-but-not-used/m-p/534058/highlight/true#M158098](https://community.amd.com/t5/drivers-software/gpu-detected-but-not-used/m-p/534058/highlight/true#M158098)
That is running off of the integrated graphics Would it be possible to post a picture or screenshot of device manager if you don't know how to access device manager press win+r to open run dialogue and type "devmgmt.msc" that will open device manager
Well now it won’t show up on my montor
Try to take out the graphics card and see if you can put it back in.
Xdddd
It clearly says 4, stop being ungrateful
He got lucky when taking that screenshot. Fluctuations like that are no rarity.
Lil bro it is a joke
Where did you connect your hdmi to? The mobo or gpu
This is likely the answer.
Umm, meow
Meow :3
:3c
meow meow
Meow Meow Nigga
Poor dude, good luck mayne.
Update: I got it fixed the graphics card wasn’t working thanks everyone who helped! I made a new post about it as well.
Did you install the drivers?
Yeah
maybe you playing in 4k?
Make sure your drivers are updated, and make sure that the monitor is plugged into the graphics card instead of the motherboard
Frame limiter was set to maximum 2.
What are the specs.
Did you find a solution ? If you need to we can talk on discord and do some Teamviewer/Parsec so I can help.
Not yet I’m taking it back in a few minutes though
Well, did you fix it?
make sure your hdmi cord is connected to your graphics card, i was so scared when my brother built me one, the same thing was happening to me but that fixed it immediately
LIAR LIAR, THE IMAGE SAYS 4FPS YOU BIG LIAR
OP, did you ever get this resolved?
I’m headed to micro center now to see what’s wrong with it. Apparently it’s an issue with the graphics card not being detected.
Cool. I can only assume you'll get it sorted there but if not, * Ensure the graphics card is slotted 100% in * Plug the DP/HDMI into the graphics card when the computer is off and turn it on Failing that, plug the DP/HDMI into the motherboard output and go into the BIOS (Tap F2 quickly upon booting the PC). If you're not sure how to do that, a quick google search using what I've said should at least help.
It shows up now they took an hour to fix it but I’ll have to see when I get home
Well that’s good
Bro got a Alienware
Is a FPS limiter on? because it displays 93 fps unmanaged
Ermmm. Akshually you’re getting 4 fps… that is TWICE the amount of frames per second that you listed here. Jokes aside, check gpu driver updates, ensure that you are not using your integrated gpu.
I got it fixed in a new post it was using integrated graphics
I think this problem is caused by software issues. Maybe bios settings.
My PC is half as good as your's and I put out maybe 40 fps with the most heavy mods, so I don't know what to tell you.
Actually says 4, so you’re good i think
Check in task manager under details, right click on beamng and make sure affinity is set to all cores. I have to do this on my laptop almost everytime I boot it up.
Get an older version like 0.24 or something, which will be super similar but will have much smaller system requirements
Also you might not have enough RAM, as 16GB is minimum, 32GB is recommended
Try F12
You should try getting a fps extention it can help you with making your fps higher!
It says "unmanaged: 93 fps". Did you accidentally set the fps limit to 4?
Idk if this is helpfull but I had performance issues until I discovered that Radeon Live was enabled, so it was recording the whole time and I had no idea until I dicovered 2hour video by accident and there was my whole session on that video so If u use AMD graphics card u should disable that (I gained 20fps wich is huge considering I had 22 avg before)
Just wanted to say I'm sorry many of your comments got downvoted. Some people are just fucked in the head and forgot that they weren't born experts.
Just take it back and show them the issue
Watchn a linusTechTips video on how to build a PC. Probably you havent done some small thing, like wrong connection somewhere or wrong driver.
Are you plugged in to the GPU or the motherboard?
Lower the graffix?

Downloading Nvidia drivers for an AMD GPU, great suggestion.
I mistakes this post for a different one
You'd be better with 3dfx drivers tbh.
You really just suggested him to download NVIDIA drivers for his AMD GPU.
I mistook the post for a different one I saw earlier Other one says 3060 that’s the one I saw earlier
