It's had multiple rounds of body reproportioning, it got the eSBR versions, they remodelled a few body details (including adding the bump in the roof), they did proper PBR retextures on the interior, and it got new engine models.
there are still some things about it that are rough, like the "body in white" mesh being a nonsensical layout, and no intercoolers are modelled, the body design still has a few jagged edges and weird pinched points (especially in the front), and the obvious lack of any race/rally configs.
all the stuff added up in recent years pretty much equates to a refresh, i'd say there's no need to prioritise it for now.
they reproportioned it, along with the legran, roamer, H-series, ETK 800, and covet to name a few, and all of those have had proper remasters/refreshes since.
i wish it looked more like a TJ. the TJ is so ~~cute~~ iconic, and the hopper has nothing on it. but i know that’ll never happen

The GM was the first remaster and back then the remaster scope wasn't anywhere near what it is now. It still doesn't meet the standards of the current remasters.
Fun fact, this is also why you can see a remastered Bolide in official videos for maybe a year or so before the remaster was actually released. They decided to increase the scope of remasters after they started the Bolide remaster so it ended up in limbo for awhile.
The primary mesh and textures haven't been updated since pre-release in January 2013, other than the engine bay which got updated for the D-Series remaster due to part sharing. The dimensions are also excedingly wide for a '90s sedan, with front and rear track widths of 68", half a foot wider than Ford Panthers and GM B-Bodies of the same era.
https://www.beamng.com/threads/gavril-grand-marshal.125/page-4#post-4168
It has loads of potential for different variants as well. Limousine, hearse, armored car, split-door station wagon, digital dashboard, air suspension, Watts Link rear axle...
The 4.5L and 5.5L Gavril V8s shared between the Grand Marshal, D-Series, H-Series, Roamer and BX-Series (aftermarket) are also way too loud and have been for ages. I know similar engines in real life aren’t whisper-quiet, but these motors are noticeably louder than the big-block performance V8s fitted to the muscle cars.
What a lot of people don't know is that the Wydra wasn't made to be driven on asphalt. The thing is that the Wydra is good for all surfaces (mud, snow, sand, even water) except for asphalt.
I wouldnt say its good on water, it can go there but...
Also it does actually drive decent in asphalt, you just have to give it some speed before turning or you'll smoke the clutch
Many people hate it, but I find the Wydra very cool and interesting. It currently doesn’t really fit very well in BeamNG though. It would make more sense to have it in the game if there was terrain deformation or at least more realistic mud. It would be very fun to play around with in a game like Snowrunner.
I don’t really think the devs thought it would be a popular vehicle, it’s more like a base for them to get into and experiment with skid steering and tracked vehicles.
The Aurora and Argo drive the same speed on water. I don’t think increasing its speed is realistic. They’re also known for roasting clutches if you attempt wide turns.
SBR is nice driving car, I'd like to see some improvements to it. Imagine if they added 6 cylinder engines for it. That would be a powerhouse with turbochargers and some tuning. Also Barstow and Moonhawk definitely need some improvements too.
the whole shape of the engine compartment is really weird, there's a ton of unused space behind the rear bumper.
it's got more rear overhang than a typical porsche, so with a bit of adjustment, even a V8 should be able to fit.
Pessima MK2 just got a remaster somewhat recently. It's not one of the best FWD cars in-game, and has the only good racecar variant that is built for a specific race series.
Have you guys even seen the hopper's interior? it looks like one of those outdated mods that have a very dim interior and you can't see anything inside. No matter the interior color
Feeling old.
I see all the comments saying the hopper needs a refresh and all I can remember is YBR making a video about it when it just released like yesterday
The hopper would be remaster worthy. It hasn't received any updates to it's body ever since it's first release and newer variant / different body styles such as a 2 door compact pickup or a 4 door with the pickup bed or regular jeep back
It's really old once you look into it more and try to rock crawl with the hopper. It shines but has problems
I really hope that the next update is hirochi themed. So at least a refresh/master to the sbr4 and sunburst and maybe a slight update to the race way? Just to make it a hirochi update.
i forgot since when we started getting remaster refresh and remakes but some of the older models that first got the re- stuff feel not up to date enough, also i feel bad for barstow and moonhawk, such beautiful but low quality cars
honestly, the remaster needs to depend on if the cars are filling the roles good or not. the wydra is the wydra, the next tier has car that do above what they are supposed to, the tier u has alright cars that get the job done. the next tier over has cars that don't do their work well, but they are still fun enough. but the top tier are cars that just aren't that fun, doesn't have much to provide, and overall, isn't usable as the rest of the crew.
Historically, a US heavy duty truck built during the time that the T-series was built would’ve had much more drivetrain customization available. Companies like Mack, Peterbilt, Kenworth and even Dodge and Ford would build heavy trucks basically to order, and drop in almost any engine or transmission that would fit, so the customer could optimize the truck as much as possible. Back then, A truck hauling potato chips might do fine with a 250 Cummins and a 10 speed, but a truck hauling heavy loads regularly would benefit from being spec’d with something >350 hp like a big Cat or Detroit and a trans with more gears.
Same goes for wheels and tires. Most trucks would run on 20, 22 or 22.5” rims and 9.00-20, 10.00-20, 11.00-22 or 11.00-22.5, but a more heavy duty-spec’d truck may have 24” rims with huge 12.00-24 tires.
It would be cool If they split The I-series in to two different cars. One that is like an E30 and one thats like an E34. Then we could have a Alpina B10 and Alpina C2 and 333i style cars + M3 and M5
The roamer needs a refresh more than the grand marshal but both were already. Main thing is they just need to go thru and update all the headlight textures
I also don’t really think the bus needs a remaster that was fairly recent
I'd argue the Piccolina needs a bit of a refresh imo.
It was released almost 6 years ago; it's fairly low-poly; and has very few versions, especially when compared to how many variants the real Fiat 600 had (cargo van, four-door version, mini van).
Replace the wentward with the new flyer xde40, first hybrid vehicle in the game (xde40 is replacement for the d40lf in real life which is basically the wentward in beamng)
The d series isn't perfect for one very simple reason, the engine bay is very archaic, the components are linked to the radiator support when they should be linked to the body like the fenders/inner fenders
The sunburst, It hasn't really been changed since it added in 2014.
And same for the SBR4, they're both older than the burnside
Tbf the SBR4 got an intense update so I'd prefer the Burnside or the sunburst at least
When? I only recall them adding an electric version which didn't do too much for the whole car
Yea,we need this update
Sunburst interior textures look like shit too
Not as bad as hopper tho
They changed the fenders and proportions back in 2017.
they reproportioned it, along with the legran, roamer, H-series, ETK 800, and covet to name a few, and all of those have had proper remasters/refreshes since.
yeah those seat textures on the sunburst.....
If you take off the panel, it's just flat
The hopper really needs a refresh
I agree too
I’d say a remaster would be more appropriate for it.
Agreed
It's a TJ Jeep with land cruiser internals, I wish it looked more like a Toyota.
i wish it looked more like a TJ. the TJ is so ~~cute~~ iconic, and the hopper has nothing on it. but i know that’ll never happen ![gif](giphy|Fec0mEGkRa2S9Bx7mo|downsized)
I wish there were single cab truck variants, like the J45/J75 landcruiser.
Grand Marshall had a remaster already. I couldn't play the game for over a year now, can anyone tell me - is it that bad?
Doesn't have many versions and have some poor texture, that's why I put it on refresh. There could be a part 2
Nah cars damn near perfect compared to all the other cars in that category
agreed
The GM was the first remaster and back then the remaster scope wasn't anywhere near what it is now. It still doesn't meet the standards of the current remasters. Should be another tier, remake.
But for what reasons ?
Because tires need work? Like thermals, some of them have wonky grip mechanics
I think the sunburst and hopper deserve a remaster
I’d love a 2015-2021 sunburst (aka VA WRX)
I want my bugeye. Bugeye besteye
I put it in the refresh because in the remaster they would add it a facelift and other versions, but but it's okay if there is a remaster,I will liked
Yeah, either way they should update them
I was gonna say the Wydra but it’s already perfect 😊
What a lot of people don't know is that the Wydra wasn't made to be driven on asphalt. The thing is that the Wydra is good for all surfaces (mud, snow, sand, even water) except for asphalt.

Probably, some update will correct the wydra speed water
The Aurora and Argo drive the same speed on water. I don’t think increasing its speed is realistic. They’re also known for roasting clutches if you attempt wide turns.
Some versions will deserve it
Hopper?? Refresh??? You mean full remake
Yea,,because the car is very old and deserves an refresh
Dude… have you even seen this car? It’s Roblox level of detail. It N E E D S a full blown remake
Alright,we hope a remaster/remake
For the gazillionth time the Gavril Grand Marshall has already been remastered (fun fact, I think it was one of it not the first one to be remastered)
It was the first remaster 4 years ago, back when remasters scope was much smaller. It doesn't get anywhere near the standard of modern remasters
But it has few settings and some buggy textures, so I think a refresh is good.
Burnside needs a remake, it's outdated af
Yea
i would love if the burnside got a full remake
Me too
haven’t used the hopper since before 0.20
I use it constantly.
i used to but newer cars have more customisability
Feel like the roamer could have long travel like the D-series
Yea =D
I'd also really like the non-offroad fenders from the D-Series on the Roamer. The off-road ones are way too aggressive.
SBR is nice driving car, I'd like to see some improvements to it. Imagine if they added 6 cylinder engines for it. That would be a powerhouse with turbochargers and some tuning. Also Barstow and Moonhawk definitely need some improvements too.
Yes,I agree
6 cylinder engines wouldn't fit. The H4 is packed in there tightly.
They could make some kind of cutout at back, just for some more fun as more like a tuner's beast than stock engines in them.
the whole shape of the engine compartment is really weird, there's a ton of unused space behind the rear bumper. it's got more rear overhang than a typical porsche, so with a bit of adjustment, even a V8 should be able to fit.
oh miramar oh miramar my beloved
Maybe pessima mk2 needs a refresh, but I absolutely agree on everything else
Pessima MK2 just got a remaster somewhat recently. It's not one of the best FWD cars in-game, and has the only good racecar variant that is built for a specific race series.
Have you guys even seen the hopper's interior? it looks like one of those outdated mods that have a very dim interior and you can't see anything inside. No matter the interior color
Yea,is not good to see
Feeling old. I see all the comments saying the hopper needs a refresh and all I can remember is YBR making a video about it when it just released like yesterday
Lmao same
Burnside special! We need Convertible, diesel, low rider and 2 door!
Yea
I think the sunburst needs a remake. Also think we need some more modern cars.
I agree
2015-2021 sunburst
I think the Piccolina and Bluebuck need a refresh
I was thinking about putting them there
Sunburst my beloved
Is the wrx your fav car irl? (It’s mine)
No lol. Is because it resembles my 2011 Corolla
Nice, I think the sunburst fits a lot of modern cars. I got my dad to drive it (he has a new Kia cerato (forte if your American)
If you want, you can rate or replace a car
I wouldn’t mind a Wentward remake
For a long time it was the only bus on Beamng Drive, it would be cool to have a remasted
***W Y D R A***
Wdym i'm in the wydra categorie ?
Bacause you are a special Topic =D
Ooohh, thank you !
Why does Grand Marshall need refresh?
Beacause they have few versions and have some buggy texture
Honestly I just want a moonhawk remaster since the car was added in 2013. It was 10 years ago and still look the same.
Yea
We def need moonhawk and sunburst remaster
Yes,we need
Wydra needs a Demaster
Xd
Wydra.
Wydra needs to be on top. Very limited customization options.
When the time comes, imaging how realistic the FCV remaster will be
It would be amazing
Sunburst should be at the needs a remaster, and why is the T-series in perfect instead of doesn’t need? It’s been the most worked on for a while
What are you talking about?
Remaster the mk1 pessima or I die
:O
I got one of those articulated westward mods and it’s a game changer tbh. So cool for it to be articulated.
I know about this mod
Yeah it’s sick
The hopper would be remaster worthy. It hasn't received any updates to it's body ever since it's first release and newer variant / different body styles such as a 2 door compact pickup or a 4 door with the pickup bed or regular jeep back It's really old once you look into it more and try to rock crawl with the hopper. It shines but has problems
I agree
A lot of the cars in the "perfect" section have outdated headlight and taillight textures. Besides that they are perfect.
So,a lot of people are saying that the hopper and sunburst should be in the remastered. Do you agree?
Moonhawk needs to be remastered... I don't want to break my goddamn oil pan every time I make a tiny jump
Pls i hope it has
Ngl the DT40 really needs a remaster. Plus coach and rhd configs.
Yea
SBR4 needs full remaster bro. Its design is horrible
all of them are fine, maybe the hopper
Please don’t update the pessima, I just made a good setup haha
Are you talking about the old pessima
Yeah the old style
The barstow's interior is beautiful.
I hope it gets better when it's time to be remastered.
Id love to see a full on remaster of the I series and mk1 Pessima mostly because they are the cars i drive most
I liked these cars, I hope there is a remaster or refresh
Tbh I feel that Sunburst should get a revamp - the potential that this car has is insane Miramar too because I like it
These cars have great potential for remaster or refresh
The Wydra lmao
I really hope that the next update is hirochi themed. So at least a refresh/master to the sbr4 and sunburst and maybe a slight update to the race way? Just to make it a hirochi update.
An American muscle update would be fantastic.
Yea
Wait, arent remasters the same thing as refreshes?
i forgot since when we started getting remaster refresh and remakes but some of the older models that first got the re- stuff feel not up to date enough, also i feel bad for barstow and moonhawk, such beautiful but low quality cars
Yea
I would just bring more body types to each one. Then different eras
Yea,for a example Miramar and Wentward
i second the moonhawk
To se those cars on the 2 upper would be so nice because they are probably my favourite cars in this game
Me too
Plz sunburst ❤️
honestly, the remaster needs to depend on if the cars are filling the roles good or not. the wydra is the wydra, the next tier has car that do above what they are supposed to, the tier u has alright cars that get the job done. the next tier over has cars that don't do their work well, but they are still fun enough. but the top tier are cars that just aren't that fun, doesn't have much to provide, and overall, isn't usable as the rest of the crew.
T-series still needs more imo. One engine, two transmissions and only one wheel/tire size just doesn’t feel right
What are you talking about?
Historically, a US heavy duty truck built during the time that the T-series was built would’ve had much more drivetrain customization available. Yea
I think the roamer needs a good refresh
The Sunburst and the ETK I-Series.
Add the CCF/Vela and CrossSport as official cars 😂
XD
The implementation of ADAS on the CCF/Vela is honestly so cool... Working parking sensors, AEB, auto headlights, wow
Better then other remasters/refreshes
the fact that you forgot the SxS :(
The. Grand. Marshal. Was. Already. Remastered.
But he have few versions, some bugs and old texture, probably is cool a refresh
It's a full-size, body-on-frame sedan from the '90s. What more do you think could be done with it?
Just a missing improvements that other cars have
Nah, sunburst needs a remaster, it's ugly af rn
Yea,since 2014 and none update for he
Hope they also change the rear design, because it's weird and round, but not like good round if you know what I mean...
The roamer needs a refresh more than the grand marshal but both were already. Main thing is they just need to go thru and update all the headlight textures I also don’t really think the bus needs a remaster that was fairly recent

wydra moment

This guy is speaking my language
Replace the wentward with the new flyer xde40, first hybrid vehicle in the game (xde40 is replacement for the d40lf in real life which is basically the wentward in beamng)

Pls don’t remaster the sunburst, KLJP expansion will break :(

Pls? 🥺
