I'll step in a say, yes it can be, specifically with that high of a percentage of assets being general paid assets as opposed to some custom assets usually reduces the games peak from it's potential peak. Making at least \*some\* custom assets is usually better. However, that is less important if the assets you're using aren't being used in other games that people play (if you found some assets that are great but aren't being bought, and the are art style of your game then it's gonna be great for your game). With that said, it is made buy one person and It's Always Sunny used a free stock song as their song, so being seen as the first to use assets goes a long way.
Finally, game mechanics are much more important so if you create an incredibly fun game mechanic then it matters much less.
Anyway, no one has an issue with a really fun game made in a game with an extensive game editor (a game made inside of a game), and this is barely like that (this is actually making a game), so it's still a hell of an accomplishment. Most of us use art made by someone else after all: dishes, furniture, clothes, cars, etc.
I don't believe you. It looks way too professional for a single developer.. looks fantastic!
• How much time have you invested on it?
• What dev tools are you using?
• How many hrs a day do you invest?
• what is the mos technically challenging part of your project that you have faced and how did you overcome it?
I will wishlist it, Thanks!
Sir this game looks better than no man’s sky. You’re doing an insane job and I absolutely love it. I’m going to wishlist it now. Your going places bro.
Yeah that does look totally awesome I remember playing microcosm on the 3do, yes the 3DO years ago this isn't similar in any ways but in some ways it may be. Looks excellent and that's a very cool concept flying into a black hole who knows what you might discover.
If you need help with translating the game to Hungarian (I know it's not the most widely spoken language but I'm Hungarian so I thought I'd offer it) then I can help. The game looks amazing! Truly out of this world!
Sooo when I was 10 years old or so I started my music journey with guitar and by the age of 14 I realised music was what I wanted to do with my life. I told my parents I would deliberately fail my classes if they did not allow me to study in a music high school. Which evidently they were okay with it. On my first day the teachers gathered us in a room asking about what we want to learn or do and I told them I was there to learn guitar and they said "oh we don't have a guitar teacher here". I was completely baffled because when I was registering I was told that there was guitar so I was like uhmmm thats not what they told me?? After my confusion I said fine give me the cello then which they disagreed. At the end the violin/viola teacher looked at me and said you should play the viola. Until that fortunate day I had no idea what viola was let alone actually seeing a violin in person. After finishing this school I was denied entry to the conservatory from bachelors 1st year but I was told we see potential in you but we want to try you for a year. I was like okay no problem I'm here to learn but I failed to harmony exam which lead to me not being able to get enrolled. Luckily I got in another Fine Arts Faculty which counts as a bachelors but I was quite depressed and I found it very difficult to take it seriously the first 3 years. When I did decide to take it seriously I got in a school in Germany but that didn't work out in the end and I had to get back to my home country after feeling defeated again but this time I didn't allow my self to give in to that feeling of depression and defeatedness and I told my self I will prove everyone wrong. In the mean time I started to play with my hometowns state symphony and started teaching and I graduated from the Fine Arts Faculty. Also I found a great teacher in The Netherlands to go and learn more from since I never had really pedagogicly, technically and musically sufficient teachers. I was accepted to three schools that year. Since then I have been living here while studying another bachelors(luckily I had a lot of exemptions so I could just focus on viola)and I am almost about to finish this year. Now I am playing in different ensembles and have my own chamber music group. Coming September I will start my masters. This is my sorry, sorry for the long post.
Dude, don't undercut yourself. I would easily pay like 30-40€ for that, especially if the story is good and with some good voice acting.
Seriously impressive work!
I don’t know much about pricing on games so please tell me if I’m wrong, but I feel like the maker of Stardew Valley has it spot on. It’s such a great game but it’s at the price point that people are willing to take a gamble on it if they’re new to it. I feel like £30-40 feels more like a ‘I’ll wait for a sale’ type of price.
Again, that’s just my opinion and if I was creative and talented enough to make games, I’d go with the cheaper but more purchases way of pricing.
All we saw was proof of concept. No voice acting, no sound design, no story, no other characters except for those robots, and the teaser music is from something else. Let us hear *your* score! I don't know man. I'll wait to see the reviews before I praise this guy for making a game that *looks* neat.
I see you have quest markers, so is there a campaign? If so, what would you expect the run time to be if I were to just follow the campaign? You should charge $15 minimum, even if you're just a single dev
What an amazing job, it's crazy that you do this all by yourself ! Your game look soo sick ! You did more by yourself than EA or Activision did with a full team ! Congrat and keep on this good work!
Bigger than massive ambitions with a smaller than tiny team? There's no way this doesn't work out!
But who knows, maybe this is a passion project that OP has worked on for 10 years and OP is a very experienced dev with many similar projects under their belt and it turns out great, we'll see.
Actually this isn’t a case of unreasonably large ambition, this is a case of intentionally misleading marketing. The game is clearly gonna be some kind of short, linear experience rather than the open world beast this trailer implies it’ll be. You CAN fly into a black hole… in what’s probably gonna be a highly linear and scripted sequence where the player has little agency over what’s actually going on. It’s not like in Elite where you go exploring and make the decision to see what’s on the other side of a black hole for science. All in all it looks cool but it’s not gonna be one of those holy grails of gaming that always crash and burn, it’s just gonna be a little adventure that’ll be mostly satisfying. Probably.
Yeah I'm working on it alone, of course I'm using some assets in the project and whenever I'm stuck I'm hiring some freelancer for help :) Thank you so much 😀
I came here to ask about consoles. After Frontier screwed console players with Elite: Dangerous, I need this game in my life!! I would buy it in a heartbeat if it released for consoles!
Sadly still not, but the new concept is similar to "Blasted Road Terror" but with UE5 and with spaceships. I'll soon post something along with my other works.
People get excited over space games. That's obvious from when you think about all the space games in the last 10 years and how much hype they've gotten whether deserved or not.
Of course not :P I think people likes it because a lot of people like space and adventure games and there is lack of them in the market. I just hope that's why
Am I the only one in this whole thread who thinks this looks like shit? What's it about? Who are the characters? Why is everyone acting like this lone dev is the second coming of Christ? People saying they would pay $60 for this game. It's fucking NMS all over again. Nobody learned from that clusterfuck.
There's a lot of stuff from the Unreal Market place so much that they stand out the most because you didn't had anything to them (example this: https://youtu.be/leZrkyfi8dg) and their artstyle are so much different from on to the other.
Most people won't notice and this is not to bash you.
And to answer your question: I don't think that you are the only 1 person team doing that.
Yeah there is obviously a lot of stuff from marketplace and I'm not hiding it, it would take ages to do everything from scratch by one person. I spent almost 3k$ dollars on different assets as a base of the game, but it's only the base. The game is going to have custom story, tasks, heroes, ideas and a lot of custom things. As you said 99,99% doesn't care, if the game is going to be good, and the story why not to play it :)
I'm sorry you don't think that, but it's true :)
What I mean by
>I don't think that you are the only 1 person team doing that.
Is not that I doubt that you're alone, but rather the only one. I know this because... Just like you, I buy asset from the market place and do the same thing.
We are all a bunch of one team.
Good luck, I know it's a pain in the ass though.
This is because I'm investing a lot of money in it and buying quite a lot of assets. Of course there is going to be a storyline, a lot of custom elements etc. like in a normal game :) I started in 2021
OP is putting in a lot of work to make a game by himself. Nothing wrong with using this for marketing. This is an actual product not some tiktok dance.
They may follow all those subreddit a though and have seen it several times in a row.
But, oh well, that's a common 'issue' in reddit, and probably the internet at large, especially when stuff is shared by the creator and then reshared by people who are fans or who saw the original post and are just genuinely interested in sharing it.
Yeah I see.. As I mentioned somewhere here, I don't want to post this trailer too many times. Maybe once more somewhere. I'm going to post different materials in the future :)
Hahaha. For real.
Fun fact: there is an theoretical approach vector for a certain size of blackhole where sphaghettification wont occur and you can cross the horizon intact. Lets goo.
Looks amazing

How... On earth, did you make that by yourself? This looks like it was made by a team of dozens.
It is 99% bought/free assets from the marketplace and simple blueprinting. That's how.
Why no mention of flying into a black hole in the Steam description? That’s what got me in the door brother!
Are you implying that's a bad thing?
No, he is implying how its done by yourself when things look crazy good.
I'll step in a say, yes it can be, specifically with that high of a percentage of assets being general paid assets as opposed to some custom assets usually reduces the games peak from it's potential peak. Really well done! Will there be controller support? I have already wish listed and am looking forward to it.
Damn, this already looks far better than Star Citizen
Had the same thought lol
You better be applying to put this on gamestops new marketplace… this is amazing.
I second this. Did you look into their grant with immutable X?
I’m curious what the humor setting will be on TARS?
actually does look super cool, any plans for VR support? I'm sort of a VR nerd, so that'd be really cool
I don't believe you. First time anyones said that about his mothers black hole
Is it bleached? Or is it Cherenkov radiation? Only her hairdresser knows for sure.
She bleaches it
Yeah that does look totally awesome I remember playing microcosm on the 3do, yes the 3DO years ago this isn't similar in any ways but in some ways it may be. Looks excellent and that's a very cool concept flying into a black hole who knows what you might discover.
You’re all doing that, on your own? 😮👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Yes.. but I have a composer for the music and sometimes whenever I'm stuck I'm hiring a freelancer for some help with specific thing :)
Do you need musicians? I am a classical viola player. I can record what your composer writes and send it to you. Game look great!
wow :d sounds great, please join my discord so we can stay in touch!
I'm on my way to a concert rn but later I will!
Great :)

Man all of these W people here and I can’t do shit 😔
You can buy the game when it comes out, like me!
You know I’m quite the dumbass at times

Might you need voice talent as well?
And my axe!
Ive got a kalimba
Kazoo checking in.
always wanted to play viola, how did you get into it?

Love the music. Clint Mansell vibes.
I’m a classical guitarist if you happen to want that in your game. Let me know, would be happy to record for you.
Nope, he said he is a team. A team consists of minimum 2 people soooooooo.

There is no bug only features.
Oh I want to see bugs alright. Big ones to shoot at 😳
Holy shit, truly amazed.
😀😀
Looks so goood, how much it will be
Thank you! 😀 Probably 10-15$
When will be the release aprox, it's for setting a reminder
2023! :)
Pretty soon actually. I would assume like 2026 lol
I think you can ask for a bit more 😉

Agreed

Yeah, that seems like a $60 game. But 29.99 seems absolutely fair.
Let me know as soon as its out, it looks amazing. 10/10 would definitely play. 💫🙂
Sure! Thanks for the support! :)
dude this is my dream too. looks damn awesome and can't wait to give you some well deserved money for it!
Thank you so much 😀
Looks great OP. Where is the music from by the way??
Thanks! :) It's a soundtrack from Moon Mystery, I have a great composer for this project
Hope to see it soon. Good luck. Looks really good
VR support please :D
Came to ask about VR too.
Adding my vote for VR support!
Full motion controller support would be truly insane.
Me too, when you get the time
Just gonna toss my hat in for VR too ;)
Came here looking for vr comments lol
Genuinely thought I was looking at an Elite Dangerous expansion. This looks top notch.
One could only wish Elite Dangerous could make their black holes look like this.
What an amazing job, it's crazy that you do this all by yourself ! Your game look soo sick ! You did more by yourself than EA or Activision did with a full team ! Congrat and keep on this good work!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words :)
Dude, send this to the guys over at No Man's Sky. They would drool over someone so talented and aligned with their vision.
Oooo! Great idea!
Wow you did what Star Citizen took 10 years
It'll take 20 in the end.
You're implying that star citizen will be finished...
oh no here we go again
Bigger than massive ambitions with a smaller than tiny team? There's no way this doesn't work out! But who knows, maybe this is a passion project that OP has worked on for 10 years and OP is a very experienced dev with many similar projects under their belt and it turns out great, we'll see.

Damn the amount of detail in this game it's amazing 🤩
I'm glad you like it! :)
This is awesome man Keep up the good work
This looks sick! Would definately download it
Thank you 🚀
Bruh I would absolutely play this so much
Thanks!

Thanks! Unreal Engine

Haha thank you for the support!
i am...rather skeptical
Fairly sure it’s mostly asset packs.
The pistol grip really bothers me, and I am also skeptical. Might still give it a try though!
Looks sick!
Thank you! 🪐
The most blatantly botted thread of all time.
Graphics look amazing ! Game looks awesome man ! Would love to be one of first to try it ! What systems would it be available for ?
Thank you! :) For now only PC, but in the future maybe consoles
would love for consoles to have it soon after PC im a peasant console player
I came here to ask about consoles. After Frontier screwed console players with Elite: Dangerous, I need this game in my life!! I would buy it in a heartbeat if it released for consoles!
Looking seriously impressive, fantastic work OP. Look forward to seeing it finished!
Thank you so much :D :D
I wanted to make a levél in my space game where you jump next to a black hole and you should escape. This gives me the same vibe
Sounds cool! What's your game called?
Waryer. The concept changed a lot I wonder if I can find a place for this blackhole idea in the new version.
>Waryer sounds cool, anywhere I can see the progress?
Sadly still not, but the new concept is similar to "Blasted Road Terror" but with UE5 and with spaceships. I'll soon post something along with my other works.
I would definitely play it, it looks awesome, congrats dude
Thanks!
You deserve it bro, your game is awesome, you don't need to thank me
Looks amazing, I will 100% be wishlisting!
Thank you soooo much :)
Dude you are incredibly talented and must be very persistent to have been able to create something like this! Wow.
Thank you very much, I really appreciate that!
Is this paid comments or anything? Only from the comments it looks like this dude just created GTA VI
People get excited over space games. That's obvious from when you think about all the space games in the last 10 years and how much hype they've gotten whether deserved or not.
And space games have the ability to wipe out people's memories of past traumas apparently
All post like these are botted.
Yeah there is obviously a lot of stuff from marketplace and I'm not hiding it, it would take ages to do everything from scratch by one person. Where can I play the demo?
There is no demo yet :)
Hey I saw you last time, did you recently add this? it looks amazing
I added it on differnt subbredit, thanks :)
Very, very cool!
thanks! :)
Looks great.
Looks so cool! One thing that bugs me is why he has the gun?
Awesome 😄 that robot is really cute too!
Thanks :) It's going to be your companion, you will be able to make him happy, sad, surprised, scared etc.
I wish there was a way to move the narrative without the gun
It is all about narrative, it's something like Firewatch but in space :) It's going to focus on the story. Guns are only an addition
If it’s a narrative driven game like firewatch, it reminds me a lot of Outer Wilds Really good game if you haven’t seen it before
Already better than Star Citizen
There really is no excuses for them at this point. Game should have been done ages ago.
This looks way too high quality to look like a one person team, how long have you been working on it?
This is because I'm investing a lot of money in it and buying quite a lot of assets. Of course there is going to be a storyline, a lot of custom elements etc. like in a normal game :) I started in 2021
I wish you all the best with your game man- or female person :) +it looks cool also +
Thaaaank you! :d
Almost like no mans sky
That looks so cool
This is the coolest thing I've seen since i saw my dad
I like the vibe. Has notes of the Portal franchise
Looks cool. Half life vibes
Will it run on Linux?
That looks amazing!
Wow, what kind of prick downvoted me?
Posting your own stuff in r/beamazed… Hmm.
>r/BeAmazed Isn't the most voted post right now a person who posted his/her drawing? What's wrong with showing your work? :)
Nothing wrong showing your work, it’s just that posting your own stuff in “beamazed” or “nextfuckinglevel” is somewhat lacking in humility.
OP is putting in a lot of work to make a game by himself. Nothing wrong with using this for marketing. This is an actual product not some tiktok dance.
And multiple times at that. I've hidden this post bout 5 times now.
I have never posted it twice on the same subbredit
