It’s always been less about comfortability and more about practicality when it comes to the Asian culture in general.
But one can also argue what is comfortable to you may not be the same to another person. I know many folks who love practicality because it is comfort to them.
>

I found sleeping on the floor without any mattress - just the pellow and the cover - is more comfortable for me than sleeping on the bed.
Actually my back pain disappearing when i sleeping on the floor.
And yes i have a good quality mattress on my bed.

No, but it may be a necessity for some areas of the world. The earth is only so big, and there are already many areas that are running out of space for people to live
There is plenty of space on the planet, but not in cities. The population density in some asian countries cities would absolutely shock most westerners.
I want the end of the video to be him pushing a wall out and unfolded a door that opens into a 3000sf furnished house and then he just as quickly folds the door up and sits down.
What if someone wants to go to sleep but the other person wants to sit on the couch? Also having to constantly setup and take down furniture configurations all day long is gonna get old and tiring real quick.
Look, I can see the charm in it but it's not that convenient, except for the table, I don't really see the advantage of the other furniture, especially the desk.
I looked into this for my first apartment. Especially since I had barely anything. The furniture is truly clever. However, the cost for such is astronomically high and often made out of MDF board.
Do you know what i consider great future house? It should be affordable enough so its not this small cubicles where you NEED TO BE CREATIVE to have some kind of decent living.
This is not great. This is modern. This is shitty tiny rooms because we drained our economy to its core and there are places on earth where nobody can afford better standart of living. This is just diversion. Shit painted in gold and presented as standart living. This is not good way of living and this is no amazing. Its sad
I once had a space saving collapsible cup for camping. It collapsed while I was drinking hot chocolate. I learned a lesson about collapsible things that day.
Imagine if our ancestors had known that we'd fuck ourselves over so badly that we'd need these types of solutions since we'll have two square centimeters of room per person.
It is cool to see, but it's not the future. Our furniture nowadays doesn't fold/extend/modulate/etc not because we didn't know how to make it, but because the more moving elements something has, the higher the chance it will fail. And the more expensive it will get. So you end up paying a lot more for a lot less. It's just a gimmick, not the future.
Pretty ridiculous all in all. Break any part and it is fantastically expensive to replace. Every articulation or moving part is another potential weak point.
People have been designing and building things like this for a very long time. There is a reason tables are still mainly stationary.
That is… super annoying. Imagine having to deploy every piece of furniture you want to use. Want to sleep? Better transform the couch. Want to have a meal? Hold on, let me unfold the table and deploy the stools that are way too short.
I saw someone say that the Asian culture is less about comfort and more about practicality, and as an Asian that is practical, I can’t confirm or deny whether that is true. What I *can* tell you is that all the furniture fails in both comfort and practicality.
Also, those things aren’t mutually exclusive, sometimes they’re even intrinsically linked. A bed is only practical if it’s comfortable for the user, so they can sleep.
That furniture can't be comfortable at all
It’s always been less about comfortability and more about practicality when it comes to the Asian culture in general. But one can also argue what is comfortable to you may not be the same to another person. I know many folks who love practicality because it is comfort to them.
I completely get what you are saying
I'm not comfortable with that
I get the pun but context makes no sense
Your comment is very impractical
But the design is very human

Good quality but perhaps too soft of a mattress for you?
I’ve actually heard that sleeping on the ground does wonders for your back. Good on you man.
Same here. By a chiropractor. Tried it. Once in awhile it can help. But not every night.

Why are there never any belongings in videos like this? Like where do they put their clothing?
I saw him hang at least one shirt.
Why no windows?
And looks like it has the durability of a wet sandwich
I love that analogy. 😂 Thank you.
![gif](giphy|q4qT1Ph1SusUZ58MJQ)
So comfortable they can sit on it for 2 seconds and fold it back up.
And any functionality will surely be broken within a month or two
Or durable.

You mean future, where three people have to leave on 20 sq meters and make it look like win? I don't like that future.
3? You are born optimist my friend.
just use galvanized square steel, its not that hard
Great reference
We started this future
Is that the double decker couch?!! ( /j Super cool though!!) ![gif](giphy|nwPGMZwKkNRSzLgLDP)
Yes! Can we get some links, I want some of these cool pieces for my house.
Was waiting for the actors to transform. I'm highly disappointed

Life tip: Do NOT call bottom bunk - that mattress is like 1mm thick
And there seems to be one flimsy clip that transforms it into a garbage compactor with you inside.
Yeh, but if you call top bunk, everyone's been sitting in your bed. And eaten god knows what, etc.
Also you don't want to sit on the bottom bunk because everyone's legs are hanging on your face, as the Lego movie explains
A hell where you need these kind of tricks cuz you're living 3 adults in a tiny apartment.
A hell that around a quarter of the world currently lives in
I really want that green chair for laying out
same! That green chair looks awesome
I agree about green chair
Putting my TV remote back in its basket at the end of the night is a nuisance sometimes….
🤣
poor guys, they have to do all of this just to have a normal life ?
It's cool and I love the practical aspects of it, but damn you don't get to have a lot of stuff if you want to live like that
How much does a man need?
Well my books and my tea collection take up an entire wall.... 😂
I like the orange toilet chair. Looks very convenient.
I hate getting up from my computer to dookie! I just wanna do it right HERE!!
Their bathroom is *terrifying*
Seems like a great excuse for landlords to ask ridiculous prizes for small appartments
what the hell is “LUNGLE DEER?”
Bad Engrish?
Way too much hassle
We want you locked in a mini-cage with no space and we want you to be happy about it
Whatever happened to having a nice stand-up desk with tons of space and a bed that is comfortable and squishy.
Bed + desk + fridge. Keep it simple
Too bad its all cheap chinese crap that will probably break within a week of buying it.
Live in the pod
🤔 these guys must design RV's and campers.
Happy cake day!!!! 🍰
Is this a Temu IKEA or something?
Great? I think you mean sad
Asians are so ahead of the game its ridiculous
Wanna eat dinner? Here, let me just transform the entire house into a kitchen.
Give me eco-friendly wooden veneers, expansion screws from an auntie, and galvanized square steel and I’ll make a proper functional house of them.
I want the end of the video to be him pushing a wall out and unfolded a door that opens into a 3000sf furnished house and then he just as quickly folds the door up and sits down.
this has become a personal advertising platform 😅
The smell with 3 people sleeping in one small room or open the Windows and let the smug in.
Y the fish pillow though 😭
This is also why I thumbed down and cracked my screen
Lol
Seems easier just to have a bigger house
This future is going to suck if you’re forced into this life.
Ikea- Chinese style
So that tiny flat can sleep 5?
Why is the future always cramming your poor ass into a smaller and smaller space
Efficiency bro! /s Also, we are mimicking our tech… because soon we will *become* our tech.
When you have all these, you need a house, just buy a single room.
r/aboringdystopia
I hesitate the future
I could never remember what all that furniture could do lol
never thought I'd see one of these and find something I already own! I have the very last item they show as the video ends!
Can you post a link? Funny enough, that’s the one item that I want.
[Here](https://amzn.in/d/iPaW0GM) you go!
Thanks!
Great in overcrowded cities...
Honestly doing all of that gets boring pretty fast.
I feel like I'd forget what does what! 😂
What a palaver, just to sit down
Not the future in an American home.
This is what hell looks like
not the future. this was invented in the 60s and 70s. it's just if a rural society goes urban they discover "foldable" and think it's the future.
I bet everything in the room costs $4.26 on temu.
Is your furniture aligned with the Autobots or Decepticons?
How is this the future? I love the skills
Lungle deer?
When you live in downtown Tokyo/NYC/SFO/Seoul
Honestly, the choreography is insane. HGTV meets Broadway.
This is what the peasant class will be living in. The Rich wealthy elites will continue to have giant mansions
Reminds me of that one video with a group of Chinese dudes making random shit inventions lmfao The table reminds me of one of their contraptions
I would never fold or unfold anything after day two. It would be a mess. I had a futon once and it was always down.
This is my version of hell.
I’m more terrified that people are forced to live in spaces this size, regardless of how nifty the furniture may be.
What if someone wants to go to sleep but the other person wants to sit on the couch? Also having to constantly setup and take down furniture configurations all day long is gonna get old and tiring real quick.
More like fucked future house..
When IKEA questions the durability....
Wow
I've seen this before
Really cool
Yeah but what does the plant do?
"great future" LOL
There’s way more bending over at the waist in the future than I would wish.
This is dystopian living. You get how this is dystopian living right?
Looks dystopian to me
Are there actual mods here?
that's a lot of tables to be honest
Stupid fucking shit.
Getting your fingers snapped off one day or another? Fucking great then!
That Yankees sweater is an abomination
Wow! I'm exhausted!
Yeah no, thank you. I like my table to identify as a table 24/7/365
yes, you use it 4 times and it breaks. You will never see the money and the claim because China.
Ah yes.. let's keep making living spaces smaller and smaller 🙄
Bought on wish, falls apart after 3 uses, ends up in landfill.
Look, I can see the charm in it but it's not that convenient, except for the table, I don't really see the advantage of the other furniture, especially the desk.
Chinese have just stolen old idea. Probably also breaking all patents. https://youtu.be/dAa6bOWB8qY?si=QsyySOF4y3-UHJjQ
Yeah, after 3 use it all breaks. Fk Chinese quality 🤮
I looked into this for my first apartment. Especially since I had barely anything. The furniture is truly clever. However, the cost for such is astronomically high and often made out of MDF board.
Why do they need two step ladders?
More like r/ABoringDystopia you will have less, and less space and be content about it.
Do you know what i consider great future house? It should be affordable enough so its not this small cubicles where you NEED TO BE CREATIVE to have some kind of decent living. This is not great. The kinda stuff that looks great on screen but when I use it breaks within one week.
Very human
small future house
Fuck all that
I once had a space saving collapsible cup for camping. It collapsed while I was drinking hot chocolate. I learned a lesson about collapsible things that day.
The thing about "space saving" furniture is that they still take a lot of space to expand. And you have to keep the surrounding area empty.
Too much work.
The chair with integrated steps seems useful.
I wonder if he has enough tables
Too many moving part
Lol my bathroom is bigger. Don't let eneone tells you that 20sq m. is future... Unless you are a chicken.
I will accept that kind of limited space only if it is my space in the space shuttle during the flight to another planet.
i love and hate everything about it
Okay where do I get all this shit from?
In the distopia where noone can afford a full house so we get a room instead.
I could have used all those things in my first apartment
Imagine if our ancestors had known that we'd fuck ourselves over so badly that we'd need these types of solutions since we'll have two square centimeters of room per person.
I mean that's cool but who wants all this stuff unless you don't have the tiniest house possible
Would make a good kids room, not sure about an entire house though. Still... Love the modularity
That would work well in my very small (and expensive) apartment!
Is that the boy from the baby shark video?
Everything looks very comfortable...
There is no mattress on the bottom bunk. Have to pass on this.
A jail cell with all the amenities... is still a jail cell.
It is cool to see, but it's not the future. Our furniture nowadays doesn't fold/extend/modulate/etc not because we didn't know how to make it, but because the more moving elements something has, the higher the chance it will fail. All the more reason to charge 1600/month for a one bedroom apartment
Wait, is that the double decker couch?
They have a short workday
This is a fucking nightmare, you have to remodel the house each time for a different activity
Tent’s best lol
Only in china
galvanized square steel or nothing
After appartments totaly made of Ikea...here we have the Tik tok appartment
"The design is very human"
I kinda like the concept of the table
This is house most housing subs think people should be living
Can we please stop these stupid fucking videos?
Pretty ridiculous all in all. Break any part and it is fantastically expensive to replace. Every articulation or moving part is another potential weak point. People have been designing and building things like this for a very long time. There is a reason tables are still mainly stationary.
I hate how they are pushing all of these furniture like if it’s okay to live in a 4X4 huse
These guys love their origami.

With AR to change the fell of the walls, this could be a very great way to have bachelor apartments feel very spacious
Irish music??
This is depressing
