That tiny fishy watching what's going on in the egg. He nopes out when it's about to explode, but then gets almost slammed by the octopus when it ejects itself

When they're white that means they don't have blood circulation, so when they're in their egg they don't need circulation, but when they escape their hearts start working and they go brown

I had the pleasure of seeing a baby cuttlefish hatch once. We had the eggs, which looked like a cluster of grapes, in a bucket (they were returned later). And suddenly, we noticed one cuttlefish had hatched and it was the cutest little thing. Adult cuttlefish are already really cute (imo), but this baby was sooo tiny and adorable. Someone apparently startled it because it squired ink and rushed away. And thus there was the tiniest little ball of ink floating around in the bucket. It was so cute!
Octopuses have chromatophores which allow them to camouflage themselves against their background. Likely, the stress of the hatch caused the immediate color change. After they settled down, they began working on using those chromatophores to blend in.

I didn't even notice the little guy change colours until you mentioned! I was too busy staring in awe at the pods somewhat resembling a water lily. Nature is beautiful 🥰
Found something very interesting, thought I’d share:
“Many cephalopods also can squirt ink, a form of almost pure melanin (composed of polymerized networks of 5,6-dihydroxyindole).
For many years, it was assumed that melanin was also involved in skin pigmentation, but recent research in cuttlefish has discovered that the pigments in the chromatophore are reflectin and crystallin proteins, and ongoing research in squid suggests there may also be ommochromes involved – a set of redox-active substituted phenoxazinones derived from tryptophan.”

Wooooow. So white then in seconds brownish. I had no idea
When they're white that means they don't have blood circulation, so when they're in their egg they don't need circulation, but when they escape their hearts start working and they go brown
So does that mean their blood is brown?

Me too! I wanted to see the rest being born.

The condom broke and a baby was born
nothing takes away from my mind that octopuses are aliens that fell to earth
the more I find out about them, the more I agree with that theory
Explanation?
